So the EMB plan for this year:

  • Fire everyone
  • Trade all the players
  • Get a high blitz D because we can't get over our ex-girlfriends (both JJ and Desai)
  • RUN THE BALL!!!!!

Does that about sum it up?

Interesting that there are only 3 open HC jobs left, but still lots of names out there.

Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson, Mike MacDonald, Dan Quinn, Bobby Slowik

Should be a decent group of coaches for next year too

The fact that one or multiple of Johnson, Slowik, and MacDonald might stay put is just crazy considering the brain drain this team guys through every few years. Johnson specifically staying in Detroit would be huge for them.

I wouldn't hate that... BUT, what's the point of having a stud OL coach if you HAVE to use a premium pick on OL positions constantly?

We've got a second round pick at LG, another second round pick moving to C.  I'd like to get more bang for our buck as our OL coach identifies some future stud OL that could be had in Rounds 3 - 7.   Let's see Stoutland find a guy like Mudd did with Kelce.  Granted, interior OL are usually easier to find in the later rounds.   BUT, there are RT options available later.   We need to find them.

Offense wins games. Investing in the o-line is a good long-term strategy.  In terms of the likelihood of success of a pick, I think o-line picks tend to be lower risk picks.   They need to have a ready replacement for Lane.  Stoutland did find a guy like Kelce in Mailata.

Yeah that is fair but with the talent on this team? And the fact he would be installing his offense and calling the plays? If he were to do a good job (if I know) lets be honest it would be 2 years max. Whomever comes in to this role has 2 years max because the whole league knows they'd be running the offense.

Maybe, maybe not. 2 years is a long time in the NFL, hard to say what happens between then and now. He installed his offense and called plays in Dallas and LA. He was brought into LA for the same exact scenario he would be brought in here for. It would all depend how good he does.

I know this is the NFL and this is how things go but it must be hard for these guys. To just sit and wait to see if they still have a job or not must be really hard.

They should adjust under the impression that they're not coming back

Your bold doesn't work.

Can't believe you voted for Dak so much.

How many teams over .500 did this scheme work against? It couldn’t even stop the eagles offense

You keep talking about "not working” but dodge defining it. Every scheme in the NFL gives up points to good teams. SF gave up 31 to the bengals, 33 to the ravens, even 29 to the cardinals. Dallas gave up 48 to Green Bay, 35 to the Seahawks, 31 to the Bills. Baltimore gave up 31 to the Rams, 33 to the Browns. Is this what you mean by not working? Do all of the NFL schemes in your opinion "not work?”

You missed the most important one…

#freeshocker

Well that sucks for the Bucs

: The Bucs would not get any compensatory draft picks for the Panthers hiring Dave Canales, only because the NFL requires a minority coach be with his old team for two years to yield comp picks for losing him.

For the record, I would not be upset about Kellen Moore.

Moore would be the safest, best choice.

Kingsbury would be the dirt worst.

Jerrod Johnson is the wildcard. Don't see how they can hand him the keys this early in his career though.

I still rather have Zac robinson over all 3

Quote

"I’ve been where Kellen has been,” McCarthy said. "Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up. But I want to run the damn ball so I can rest my defense."

Some of you guys are going to LOVE Moore

I was just going off the reported names. Robinson is intriguing but similar to Johnson and a wildcard type. I'd be surprised if they went that route.

Didn't know about this. Seems odd for 2 years

Surprised he wasn't a direct hire by Lurie

Agreed I'd be surprised if they went with anyone who hasn't called plays in the nfl

Yep. That’s what I was alluding to last night. Plus there will be up and comers like Waldron or the flavor of the month Shanny assistant.
