Slowik in Houston is another nice HC name.

We just need a playcalling HC.

Who? Never heard of him.

The Brendon Staley comparison is a good one. It just kept getting worse and worse and worse. The last seven weeks have felt like that as well.

Having said, Staley never remotely had anywhere close to the success Siri has had. But if the locker room is lost despite what players say publicly, I don't see how he gets it back. That's why I think Howie / Lurie interviews with the leaders on this team (Hurts, Brown, Smith, Johnson, Kelce, Cox, Grahama and Slay) will determine whether he is back or not.

You need to redefine leaders with that list.  Cox, Graham, Smith, Johnson, Mailata & Elliot.

You realize an audible is a set play right? Its not like jalen is looking at the D then calling out each route to each player, he makes the call/signal out to the guys and its their job to understand the call and run it, wires got crossed the play wasnt executed and the play failed.

Looked like somebody should have cut in to create a natural pick but they both went the same way, though i wouldnt put it Past Siri and BJ drawing it up that way because theyre idiots and its not like they attacked the wide open part of the middle of the field all game anyway.

Have you noticed how much that has happened this year. Havent people complained about WRs in the same area in other games???

As much as I like a running qb that QB still needs to win with his arm.

Foles didnt win running around making wild plays with his feet, he made plays with his arm.

Mariota hasnt shown that he can consistently make plays with his arm

Id prefer a QB playing qb thats why i have a power back to do the running and a qb to do the throwing.

Sure itd nice to have one that is great at both but those guys cost a lot

If I was just to look at Mariota,  I would say that Mariota brings $5M a year as a starter.   Over the course of years,  he's won at least 1 playoff game.  He's still fast, made the top 20 fastest runs in week 18.  His passer rating has been about mid, year in, year out  Career 89.   Not saying he's as good as Hurts, but much much cheaper.   I talk about weird stuff like having 2 running QBs on the field at the same time. If you're going to do that,  you're going to need more QBs.  So,  I'd have a dynamic, changing offense with those kind of players.  If you have enough QBs and you don't use the same QB over and over in an attempt to make him the hero star face of the franchise, you can treat all the QBs pretty much interchangeably.

If Hurts was one of many equal qbs,  would he have been playing with that dislocated finger? Or would it have been Mariota, or one of 4 similar QBs?

The lack of reports that Sirianni is safe speak volumes. Firing Sirianni is clearly in the table. Maybe he wants to hear his plan to fix the issues first.

This is the Doug situation all over again - Lurie will be fair. Firing Siri today was never on the table - its not just not his style given the circumstances i,e. incredible success up untill 7 weeks ago and then the most epic collapse.

Lurie will meet with the key players and Siri to gather views on what went wrong, Then Siri will have the opportunity to present a plan on how he intends to fix it, and Lurie / Howie will make the call if they buy into that plan or not.

Honestly not sure what he was doing in that booth. He was speaking to someone. Maybe he gave Patricia info about what he was seeing. Maybe he was sabotaging him. Maybe he was cursing Patricia out every game

There was some weird explanation that Siri gave about the demotion.  They were working together…somehow, in some way that Patricia was only doing play calling based off what Desai gave him.

Good to see Josh Harris in attendance tonight for the Sixers game.

The staff in my office are playing the most fey, most chick-lit style music ALL DAY to annoy me, knowing that I am moody over our ish football team.  Super sensitive emotional music.

It is actually a fantastic own but I refuse to acknowledge it.

I Fall to Pieces by Patsy after Wishing on a Star after 30 minutes of Adele.  I have another hour to go. Not sure I will make it.  All damn day.

You know there’s a thing called harassment that applies to men as well?

What was explained is that Smith and Goedert interpreted the signal differently.   The error could have been made by one of them, too.

Kind of…the quote is murky.  I interpreted it as Hurts was supposed to give 2 signals.  He didn’t.

You dont think he is asking his $250m QB or the best player on the team about what in their view went wrong with the team?

It doesn't matter what you or I might think about their leadership skills

Well both are possibly part of the problem.  SO ya he’ll ask them, but he might not GAF what they say.  AJ has one more year, if he even makes it through next season without imploding and getting the TO ‘detriment to the team’.  Dude was in AC last night…F him.

Everyone wants Siri fired so right now Hurts is exonerated of most of his faults. Theres been numerous examples of this happening which have been pointed out on twitter. Idiots mistakenly blame Siri for "his offense" and poor play design. But its the QBs job to communicate. One time, maybe a WR saw or heard the wrong signal. Numerous times, its a pattern and it means the QB isnt communicating the calls effectively. His job. Not on the coach. Not on the other players. The QB has to communicate the calls.

The whole thing is murky!   Sort of a microcosm of the entire season.

The tackling really bothers me.  How can you be that bad?

Often people say the poor tackling is from.bad coaching.  If you're a football player in the NFL and play defense you should be able to tackle better than that.  Coaching shouldn't matter much.  Get to the ball carrier.  Grab him.  Wrap him up.  Bring him down to the ground.  That's it.

Well it’s cryptic coach and player speak…that we take at face value.  Only lane and a few others are ‘safe’ enough to speak a smidge out of line.

A lot of times they don't get calls in fast enough from the sidelines and seem to be racing the clock as well. Wish they went a little more up tempo no huddle when they get in a funk so that they have time to make calls at the line.

Tin foil ‘experts’ think Slay started a mutiny.  I’m not ruling it out…but that seems a little too far out.

The weird communication/play calling system between Desai and Patricia for sure hurt the D.  Half the time the O was getting set before the green dot was able to do anything.
