In general, I think you always try to make something a 3 possession game. Yes, the drop killed them, but that's the risk when you go for it.

The Niners defense sucks though, they're going to get trashed by Mahomes and Reid. And Spags will be the best coordinator the Niners have gone up against. Just hope the Chiefs don't cough it up like the Packers and Lions did.

I fully expect the niners defense to continue sucking but I don't see purdy and co coming back if they get off to slow starts the last two games. They're gonna be playing seasoned champions.

Game is gonna be interesting. Because the Chiefs offense was not good in the second half. The ravens pretty much shut them down, except for the long pass to MVS at the end. I like the Chiefs defense but I think they’re gonna have their hands full kind of like they did with Buffalo as i think Qb isn’t as good but much better weapons overall and a better offensive mind in Shanahan (regardless of what we think about him). I see SF being able to score 24-27 points. Meaning that the chiefs are likely gonna have to score in the high 20s and 30s to win. The chiefs really need to score early and have Pacheco just go off on the niners.

Could be that he takes a position in the front office like Celek did

Yeah but they don't have the ravens defense..

We all saw what the packers and lions did to their defense at home

If their offense and defense start like they have the last two games I don't see them coming back against mahomes.

Purdy is due for a multi-INT game. Eventually the defenses will stop dropping all these gimme balls.

It's not his fault, but Purdy gets more undeserved D slobbing than anyone I've ever seen. He does nothing special, nothing. He's a dude who has 3 Fing all pro weapons that do all the work and an all world defense. Put him on literally any other team and no one would ever talk about him. Put 99% of halfway decent QBs in SF and they perform the same way or better.

If he wasn't Mr irrelevant, not a soul would call for him to be the MVP. No one would mention him at all except as a good game managing QB on a stacked team, which is all he is.

Purdy on the Giants roster would lock up the first overall pick.

I knew trying to sleep on the train wasn’t going to work. It never does. And on top of that, one of the two ladies in the next room is taking a crap, and the smell is horrendous.

Ugh. Eighteen more hours to go. 😩

1:37 left 3 timeouts… take the FG and go play defense…

or waste 40 seconds and a timeout to force a TD, needing onside kick to have a chance.

Eh, the Lions weren’t exactly stuffing San Fran’s offense in the second half, so I get it.

True. But they were 2nd ranked defense in the league heading into the playoffs. And chiefs offense isn’t some juggernaut. They haven’t scored 30 points in 9 consecutive games and against some worse defenses than the niners. Ravens held them to 17. Raiders held them to 14. Packers held them to 19. Miami 26. And Buffalo who was banged up 27. I think SF’s defense is much better than those teams besides the ravens. I wouldn’t be all that surprised if sf keeps them in the 20-27 range. Frankly if the chiefs don’t get to 27+ i think they lose this game unless purdy implodes. Can happen but i tend to think it’s gonna be like a 27-23 game

are you on a plane?

today was such a terrible day. Oh well hopefully KC comes through.

What a nightmare season.. the whiners will win the Super Bowl.. lions really imploded, worst loss I’ve seen since the pats v falcons fiasco

Have a feeling that line moves to the favor of the chiefs as the 2 weeks continue

I hate Mahomes. I hate the 49ers.

I hate that Reid couldn't win in Philly but won 2 in KC, potentially a 3rd. He learned from all his mistakes then went there, got Mahomes & won. Should've had 1 or 2 here.

I don't mind the other Chiefs players or their fans. But I hate that Mahomes is such an entitled crybaby.

Ugh.

Just like last year their defense is a product of their schedule. I don't care about their regular season defensive ranking what have the last two weeks shown you about the niners defense?

Mahomes will have his way with them. They may not be a juggernaut they have been in the past but they have a clear advantage at QB/HC/DC that packers/lions didn't have.

I don't think it will take a purdy implosion to lose.  If their defense gets rolled to start the game and their offense gets in a hole early I dont see a come back this time especially with spags running the defense.

This makes me feel way better heading into the offseason.

His kicker isn’t all that good. I think he was right to go for it. The problems were Gibbs’ fumble, drops, a flukey 50-yard interception turned catch, and Ben Johnson’s brain turning to mush.

The first one I could see.

The second one was tone deaf, and somewhere between Brandon Staley feeling like he's pot-committed with his manhood on the line, and a teenager playing Madden about to spike the controller on the ground.

For the love of God your team is collapsing and just put together a decent drive, take the damn points and tie the game.

I agree the combination of the dropped pick/helmet catch, bad drops on 3rd/4th down, and fumbles contributed but that 2nd 4th down attempt was asinine.

I'm still cynical about Kelce.  The more I think about his spectacle in KC the more I'm convinced he just did it for publicity.  I hope I'm wrong.

Thank God we won SB52.

If we were still ringless and Andy was about to win his 3rd ring with KC. I don't even know.

Going for it on 4th aside, calling a run on 3rd down is one of the dumbest decisions ever. It really is unbelievable how many coaches' brains turn to mush in big moments of big games. Over the years you see so many coaches do totally nonsensical stuff. That was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I'm guessing that was Campbell's decision. Thankfully that didn't happen to Doug in 2017.

I tend to believe the chiefs offense will keep teams in games cause that’s what they’ve done most of the year. Besides the dolphins and bears games they really haven’t just smashed teams. Id add on when sf has been completely healthy on offense like they are right now, the only team to keep them below 24 points was ravens. I don’t think sf has played well on offense last two weeks and still managed 24 and 34. KC won today but also had their defense get the ravens to basically implode with fumbling the ball into the end zone, Lamar strip sack and Lamar throwing a pick to win scoring just 17 points.

i didn’t say KC can only win if purdy implodes. I said if they don’t score 27+ i don’t think they win unless purdy/SF offense implodes. Which means i think it’s going to be really tough to win a game scoring 17-24 points if purdy (SF offense) doesn’t have implosions. If KC scores 27 i think they win this game easily. If they score 17-24 then they are gonna need their defense to have purdy and niners offense have some implosions cause if they don’t get those turnovers i dont see SF not scoring in the 20s.

If the start off slow again I don't see a comeback. I don't see mahomes missing some of the throws goff missed in the game especially what would've been a td to end the half.

KC has started off hot the last two games. First 5 possessions vs. Buffalo they scored. Then last 3 nothing. KC scored on 3 of the first 5 possessions vs. ravens. Then nothing the last 6. That’s the issue to me why i said the chiefs offense will keep the niners in the game. And if chiefs only score between 17-24 then they better turn the niners and purdy over. Cause if Brock and Sf don’t turn the ball over then i think the chiefs are playing a dangerous game. Reminds me of the eagles vs. chiefs. Chiefs defense eventually got burned cause it’s hard to keep a good offense down if the chiefs don’t keep putting points on the board. as the chiefs offense wasn’t able to continue drives and put up points. Eventually the damn is gonna break. Chiefs were able to turn the ravens over 3 times and that was the difference today. If they are only scoring 17-24 i think they need that type of performance again

I am still taking KC 27-23. But i think they are playing with fire if they don’t get to 27+ points. if chiefs are scoring somewhere between 17-24 points then i can see the niners pulling out a game like the eagles did weeks ago.
