Because the NFL script conspiracy is fun, here's my contribution.

The NFL's preseason script was to have the niners and ravens in the super bowl. However, once Swift started dating Kelce and the NFL saw the viewership numbers skyrocket, they changed it up in order to have as many viewers for the super bowl as possible.

The niners will win because the NFL is going to push the "From Mr Irrelevant to Super Bowl MVP" storyline. Regardless of how Purdy plays, he will win MVP and we'll never hear the end of it. If Purdy's numbers look like they have the last two games and he wins MVP then it would have been decided prior because his numbers are not that good

If they win then it's likely because of CMC

The dumb game plan didn't help matters.

What makes it really crazy to think about is that they were calling for nasty weather for about half the week leading up to the game, it wasn’t until Friday/Saturday that the weather reports cleared up  - you would think they would have incorporated some sort of run heavy game plan - instead they did the opposite.

Figured I’d put both of you in there cause this is how I feel with swift. I feel kind of how you do about him being a change of pace and pass catching back. I said all year the biggest misuse of personnel probably was swift. Because if you go back and watch the Lions game where he was ultra effective, it’s because he was such a weapon out of the backfield. He’s probably the best past catching back we’ve had since sproles. the Eagles refused to use him in that way For much of the season. I brought it up down the stretch, Kenny Gainwell, somehow was having more receptions and games than swift. That should never happen based off the fact that swift is a much better pass catcher than gainwell. And gainwell past blocking ability really isn’t all that great to have him out there as your pass catching back.

I wouldn’t bring swift back, cause I think he’s gonna make too much and I also think his durability will come up again. I think you need a bigger, powerful runner. If we’re not gonna utilize the running back in the passing game, then really you want a guy who’s tough in between the tackles. And can pass Block

I don't think Swift will make too much. Not as much compared to the bigger backs that you would want out of free agency. The market has been pretty low on backs and I can't see him getting more than what Sanders did. Especially after Sanders' disappearance last year that doesn't bode well for Swift coming out of Philly.  We have 1 RB under contract and practically no $ devoted to the position. Probably worse than the LB position where we were dead last in spending. I wouldn't mind one of the big 3 power backs coming out of the draft Benson, Estime, Allen. The one that doesn't fumble and can pass pro would be my preference. I think Moore would unlock Swift in ways that we didn't see this year that we were all hyped up on in the offseason and it never came to fruition.

I do think Lamar choked a bit yesterday and was outclassed by the Chiefs. But what happened to the run game? Really surprised Monken pulled an Eagles move and just didn't run it at all. Edwards ran pretty hard when he actually got the ball.
Also, they do need another receiver. Agholor, OBJ, Bateman are basically crap. Andrews is legit but coming off a major injury. Likely is nice.

Not saying the NFL is rigged but it's odd that in a game that the Ravens clearly were in, they called the most non-Ravens kind of game ever. You rarely ever see the Ravens abandon the running game. They are consistently one of the most disciplined teams when it comes to gameplans and sticking to what they do well. It made absolutely no sense what they were doing. Then you had Lamar just heaving it downfield every other play when there was plenty of game left.

Then you look at the Lions. Amon-Ra St. Brown was unstoppable in the 1st half and their 1-2 punch was wearing the 49ers down. What did Detroit do? Try to force the ball to Jameson Williams and Josh Reynolds and stopped throwing to St. Brown.

Maybe both teams just sh#$ the bed in big moments but it seemed especially out of character for the Ravens. The Lions had their fair share of mistakes, especially the INT bounce which IMO was turning point.

I think its pretty interesting how fast the Eagles performed their DC/OC coaching search. It was fast and not a very wide net. Compared to Sirianni who interviewed 12 or so LB coaches and took months to fill the entire coaching staff, it looks pretty obvious who was behind these two hires.

Tbh I think the Eagles knew that Fangio was likely out. So they were going to make him the hire  regardless. So it was gonna go quickly. I thought last year if Gannon would’ve been upfront about what was going on with the Cardinals, that fangio would’ve just stayed with the Eagles and been the defensive coordinator. So that one makes sense why it went so fast.

The Kellen Moore is more fascinating to me. Because they interviewed him during the whole head coaching vacancy. I think the Eagles see what Shanahan’s doing schematically l and McVay is doing, and they realize they need the offense to schematically get guys open using motion and also with the talent, they have can even maximize it more.

Of all the guys who were available he made the most sense. He has playcalling experience. He has had two top five offenses in the last five years. In Dallas when he didn’t it was because Dak got hurt. 2020 he only had five games with dak. In 2022 he only had 12 games with Dak. The Philly special podcast talked about it. When Dak Prescott was healthy their EPA was second in the NFL. So you know he’s going to have a competent offense. And an offense that does a lot of the things Eagles haven’t been doing that they need to start doing.

I think the timing matters. Moore was in demand and they felt they had to make the move now due to competition. Fangio was a special circumstance as well since he was in line to he hired last year but Gannon snaked us. Since we were the last team to fill out a staff, we could afford to take more time sifting through the leftovers.

If he gets what Miles Sanders got in free agency last year, I think that’s gonna be more than what the Eagles are willing to spend at the position. I think they’ll add somebody in free agency because it’s actually not a bad class. And I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a running back that has a year left on that contract that is likely not gonna be re-signed that they’ll be interested in trading for.

Seems like the Browns wanted Moore so the Eagles had to jump them for him. Then they pivoted to Dorsey.

Probably but I don't think Stefanski wanted to give up play calling. Did he do that with Dorsey?

I’m thinking we can resign Swift for something like 3 years 12 mil total with about half guaranteed.   If some team offers him more, so be it but I think that’s his value at this point in time.

Highly doubt it. I think Moore having control of the Eagles offense would've made them preferred over the Browns regardless.

What's more Philadelphia than Jason Kelce showing some brotherly love?

I hope that Travis returns the favor.

Yes, he has worn Eagles gear and supported Jason.

If Mike Caldwell doesn't get a DC job, he'll probably be the Eagles LB coach.

Hopefully the rest of the staff starts being finalized soon. And hopefully Moorehead being out is one of them. I expect the defensive staff to be totally gutted. Don't like how the DL played this season, would like to see a change with Rocker too.

IIRC that last one is from 2017 when Chiefs broke our streak

You. You're complaining. You said you were cynical about Kelce. Now you're worried he's "focusing" on other  ventures than football. I already listed all the other things he's been focused on in recent years and that hasn't affected his play. He was a week removed from the season, a time when players go on vacation and relax. He got drunk at his brother's game and had fun. What a dumb thing to be "cynical" about.

Im cynical about his raucous display being less about cheering his brother and more about driving clicks to his podcast

It would be different if Travis played for the Lions and had never been to the playoffs.  This was a divisional game for KC who's won two SBs and he made a shirtless, drunken spectacle of himself knowing the cameras were on.  Why hasn't he done that for his brother before....I wonder?

He can do whatever he wants, Im just saying I don't believe he's coming back based on his behavior.

Eagles win the Super Bowl with Kellen Moore's high flying offense that turned Hurts back into the MVP.

Jeff Lurie: "crap, I don't want to go through 2023 all over again and lose the coach that made my offense and QB become great."

10 minutes after the Eagles parade ends, Adam Schefter: "The Philadelphia Eagles have fired head coach Nick Sirianni."

Is Moore that much of a yes man?
