Dang if that’s right then that’s not a lot of cap room to play with. We know Howie will make moves to give himself cap room but that’s not a great starting point.

I think this comes down to eagles, cowboys and bills HC job all might be available next year. stay for a year and kill it again in Detroit and get a better HC job. That said I do wonder if Detroit losing in the way that it did can fully recover and get back to where they were. That is a devastating loss. You can either use it as fuel to get you to a SB or you’re gonna wind up seeing a regression because of it.

Gave me some flashbacks of Eagles vs Rams in the NFCCG. Wouldn't be shocked to see the Lions back in it again next year.

Unless they make him June 1st, you can subtract an additional 8.6 million from that 40

Byard is full savings as a pre June 1 cut unless they redid his deal after the trade.

To add: KC if Reid retires, Chicago if they decided a defensive head coach with Caleb Williams is dumb.

Eh the eagles didn’t blow a 17 point lead and mcnabb was still young. Goff has been what he’s been. I think they should be good but blowing a 17 point lead is different then losing a game you led 17-13 at halftime. That was an absolute complete meltdown.

Right, not exactly the same scenario, but it did bring back those some of those memories as I was watching it. Biggest difference is Reid stayed with us for all those years as we kept making those runs while Ben Johnson is almost certainly gone after one more season.

I don’t get what Chicago is doing. If you’re gonna draft Caleb Williams and you’ve known that, then you should have gotten an offensive HC. The bears have yet to maximize fields under him and frankly he’s been about the same player since he’s gotten there. I don’t want him having another highly drafted QB being brought up by him. As good as the Bears defense was the second half of the season. I don’t want him coaching my number one overall pick when he’s show me nothing with Justin fields to make me think he is going to maximize Caleb Williams.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  If Cox retires, you can subtract 8.6 million from the eagles projected 40 after Byards cut.  Now they will likely designate a post June 1st cut prior to the start of the new year, so it will be lower, just giving you a worst case scenario.

Oh, we thought you were talking about Byard.

Do you have to release a player who retires? Or can he just file the paperwork after 6/1? Because they need one of the post 6/1 spots for Bradberry, and BG's contract is structured the same way. So is Kelce's.

Wasn’t there a report over the past couple weeks that they restructured kelce’s?
