What was the std dev? The inconsistent use of swift was a big negative

Inconsistent and misuse both.   Or more exactly, using Gainwell, at times, in ways that Swift would have been more effective.

I did.  He's in that group of ok but not impressed.

If they took him in like round 5 or 6 in fine with it.  I wouldn't expect him to ever be more than an RB2. If rather him as an RB3.

He probably will be a 5th or 6th and that would be an amazing get. He doesn't really have a weakness other than not great long speed.

Yeah, La-ow-bee is a good player as he can run and catch well. Not sure about his route running or pass blocking, but that seems to be the difference between getting significant time and the bench.

They clear $20 mil alone getting rid of bakhtiari who barely played in like 2 years. They also have guys that have restructurable contracts. Restructuring jaire, smith, jones and Kenny Clark so going to get them in the 30-40 range. I’m not worried about their cap especially cause they can afford to do restructures having $92 mil in 2025 and over 110 in 2026.  They can afford to restructure to save money.

also, I know that Jared Goff’s ceiling is what it is. In one season where Jordan Love got to play the entire year he had a season to the equivalent of Jared Goff in 2023. Their numbers are super similar (outside of overall total passing yards) and he had less talent on the oline, his best wr was hurt majority of the year, musgrave also missed weeks and Aaron jones missed majority of the season.

By that standard, Lions can cut or restructure some guys too to clear up more space for extensions. Pretty much every apples to apples look at it puts the Lions in better cap shape, but I agree that it's not much of a difference the further out you go.

I will make you a bet with our avatars that the Packers win the division next year. only caveat is if Goff or love get hurt it’s void. Cause it’s based on for me love takes another massive step in his development and if Goff or love gets hurt they are likely finishing last. Let me add to that not like if they get hurt in like week 16 and like the lions are up by three games in the division. At that point I’ll just say you won that bet.

Deal.

Was hoping to get Quinyon Mitchell at 22. Not sure about that anymore.

Not that big. They talk to a crap load of guys every year and end up not drafting them. Guessing the "2024 NFL Draft: Players the Eagles are interested in" link in the NFL Draft forum will be coming soon. They talked to a bunch of RBs last year and drafted none of them lol.

45?   Maybe 52?

I get Boston Scott vibes there, which might be fine if drafted late - but I’d rather draft a RB with a bit more upside.

Says he’s 23 but don’t know when he turns 24. He’s a sixth-year senior, so probably this year.

So he’s white, from a small school, and a sixth-year running back? I’m out.

If Kelce retires, wonder if the Eagles would draft another center and just keep Jurgens at guard. This seems like a good center class.

Boston Scott was actually fast.

He was born on leap day... so he's only had 23 birthdays... he's actually 92.   Looks pretty good for 92.

It would be cool if they could draft Lanes eventual replacement but with versatility to play guard.

No home for Steen after his rookie season😭

Ah yeah I don't see that at all. I see a poor man's Blake Corum

Good point, forgot Boston ran a 4.4.

He looks awfully slow against lower competition. Very poor man's.

@HazletonEagle

I watched the "top” RBs and came away mostly unimpressed. If I had to rank them, I’d go…

1. Jonathon Brooks: Unfortunately he tore his ACL, but I think he is the most complete RB. Decent speed, good contact balance, good in the passing game.

2. Trey Benson: Weird that he didn’t get more carries. Good speed, good contact balance. Surprisingly smooth in the passing game, but probably not a guy you want playing on third downs.

3. Braelon Allen if he cuts weight: I’m going to lump Estime in here with him although I prefer Allen. They both need to drop about 10 pounds each. Allen might be a little too upright to make it, but he has good feet and contact balance. Dropping weight to give him more burst or top end speed could make a huge difference. You said Estime looked too slow. I agree. He’s tough, but NFL defenders are gonna be on him too quickly with his lack of burst. He’s kind of like a rich man’s Snell, the old RB from Kentucky. Allen seems more like Blount.

4. Marshon Lloyd: It feels like he’s getting slept on. Looks good as a runner and receiver. Nice burst and contact balance. Kind of reminds me of when Aaron Jones was coming out of UTEP. If you told me neither Allen nor Estime cut weight to add speed, I’d put Lloyd third.

I only took a very short look and agree with your assessments, other than I liked Estime more than Allen.  They both have potential as solid big RBs, but I thought Estime was much more athletic.  I'd rank Lloyd right up there close to Benson, actually.

1.  Brooks -- lead RB potential

2.  Benson -- lead RB potential as well.  Doesn't look all that fast, but no one was running him down

3.  Lloyd -- great at nothing but very good at everything I saw

4.  Estime -- a big RB that hurdles people?  That could be a mess, but it could save wear on his knees as well.

5.  Allen -- doesn't need to be told what direction is north.

I was pleasantly surprised with Benson and Estime; don't see the appeal of Corum, either.  I saw a website listing his 40 time at 4.37?  Not a chance.  He doesn't run away from ANYBODY.  If he actually runs that at the Combine I will be shocked.  He doesn't play anywhere close to that.

He's definitely not as fast as Corum but he's not slow. More burst than long speed but there's far more important aspects than speed. His vision, decisiveness, hands, basically anything else you want besides 4.4 speed.

Lions had Montgomery miss extended time which worked out for them cause it forced them to use Gibbs. Add on CJGJ missing time actually helped cause he wasn’t very good

They also lost Vaitai, Harris, and a couple other players but never really saw much of a drop off in play. That's the nice thing about having depth, it really comes in handy when you need it. 🙂

Really disappointed to see Daniel Jeremiah having Edgerrin Cooper as his 20th overall player in his top 50 list. Really thought we had a shot at him at 50 but seems as though he's not a secret and there's no way we take him at 22. Off to a great start! Did we hire any scouts and front office voices with a proven track record in finding defensive players yet? It's not fair all of these coaches can fall on the sword over the course of different regimes meanwhile Howie can just walk over their bodies facing no repercussions while missing out on very good defensive players. No confidence in Howie just rebuilding the defense this offseason like its not big deal. He messes up this offseason and our window gets closed for the year and the rebuilding process suffers a major set back pushing it back even further. If Jeff just lets him have all the power this offseason to try and fix this defense considering his history it's straight up negligent and irresponsible :nonono:

What will Howie do with his annual contract funny money game if Cox and Kelce are retiring in the offseason?  He'll be lost, poor thing
