I care about substance not style

Some of the substance is lost with the constant non-stop talking. When you speak less... the things you point out have more of an impact.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Does anyone actually like any color commentator? It seems like I only hear complaints from fans.

Not all are as bad as Chris Collinsowrth.  Some are tolerable, but I seem to dislike most.

What about the ManningCast?  I think that is funny most times.  Eli _really_ hates the Eagles.

I prefer aikman and Romo

Yeah, Aikman is who I have in my head as the gold standard.  Romo's OK, but Aikman is pretty good and he seems to go out of his way to be unbiased.

That doesn't make much sense but ok

I absolutely love that Aikman didn't hold back on his criticism of the Eagles, during the playoff game against the bucs. He called them out, play after bone headed play. Have much respect for him.

I always watch the game on mute. And i was like one team looks like it wants to play the lions next week and the other looks like the nfl is forcing them to be there. And then 20 mins later aikman apparently said something similar. He’s usually brutally honest. Even if it is the cowboys. He was pretty honest during that lions cowboys game.

Kay Adams is looking especially fine today.

Not color analyst but love Verne lundquist as a play by play guy. I think he alluded to 2024 being his last year.

He was a favorite of mine as well.  I thought he retired already like a year or 2 ago.

LOL @HazletonEagle with another swing and a miss.  That lowers his average from .067 to .050

That's not buffering that people complain about.  That's a broadcast delay. Different.

Everyone experiencing issues with YouTube tv should upgrade internet.

Not saying this necessarily means anything. But these are softball questions and weird responses.

WIP still going with the nonexistent AJ Brown stuff that they keep trying to make a story.

Quick comment on effort...

I almost never comment on a player's attitude or effort.  This isn't high school JV football.  These are professionals.  It's their lives and career.  So when someone is moving in slow motion, I'll just say they are too fat, too slow, incapable of playing full snaps, etc.  A DL that gets blown off the ball gets blown off the ball.  I'm not going to blame it on disinterest.

But the late season Eagles...something happened.  They don't suck that badly.  Color analysts don't go out of their way to say something controversial that can offend players.  In a PLAYOFF game, the Eagles looked like they'd rather be on the couch.  Like a kid whose parents are making them play a sport.  And this is under the same coach who, for 2024, is not going to run the defense, is not going to run the offense, and is just supposed to be responsible for accountability and keeping players motivated.

Down to Dan Quinn or Aaron Glenn for Washington it appears.

Believe he stopped doing sec and ncaa tournament games. Still doing golf (think this masters is supposedly his last. Should’ve said his last masters/golf)

My assumption is AJ Brown will be back with the Eagles, but I wouldn't be opposed to a post June 1 trade.  It'd be $10.5M dead money for 3 years, but it would all depend on his attitude.  "Friendship" is transactional to a guy like him; I don't think Hurts would figure into the decision all that heavily.  He knows when DeVonta Smith gets his extension (as well as Dickerson) his contract and cap hit will go under the microscope -- and he doesn't strike me as a guy who will take a penny less to help the overall roster cap.

I'm assuming if he's traded before the draft, it would have to be classified as a pre-June 1 trade?  That'd be too much dead money for the Eagles to eat.  If we're not talking about it heading into 2024, we'll be talking about it more going into 2025.

Mccaffrey is my guy , he looked good against Mitchell

Dennard Wilson likely to be promoted to Ravens DC.

He needs a new contract after this season as his cap number jumps to $26 mil (and 41 mil in 2026) and he’s closer to the end of his current deal he signed when we got him in 2022. So an extension would make sense to lower the future cap numbers. I’m guessing if the eagles take a WR early (i don’t see it this year they have too many other issues) or there’s no talks of an extension during next season/the end of next year it’s not out of the question they could trade him. Not likely the eagles would keep his cap number at $26 for 2025 and $41 in 2026

Would be shocked if they went with Glenn over Quinn

Weaver is another finalist

Internal moves:
Resign these FAs w/ contract projections (void years not included):
-Mann - 3 years/$2M Signing Bonus/$3.125 fully g'teed
-Lovato - 3 years/$1M SB/$2.12M full g'teed
-BG - 1 year/$2M SB/$3.5M fully g'teed

Extend these FA's w/ contract projections (void years not included)
-Elliott - 4 yrs/$8M SB/$13M fully g'teed
-Dickerson - 5 yrs/$30M SB//$50M fully g'teed
-Smith - 4 yrs/$28M SB/$45M fully g'teed
-Reddick - 4 yrs/$30M SB/$52M fully g'teed (they may restructure and just convert his salary into SB. If that happens, that means they're resigning Sweat)

Cut
-Byard
-Maddox

Cut with 6/1 designation
Bradberry - If Cox isn't retiring then cut him with the the 6/1 designation and simply wait till after 6/1 to officially cut or trade Bradberry.
Sweat  - They may try and extend him. However, if he plays in 2024 and doesn't resign, he would count $21M dead space against the 2025 cap. That number can't be lowered. So he's either going to be a 6/1 cut or extended. The latter is more likely if they extend Reddick but don't extend him.

Retire
-Kelce
-Cox (if he's not retiring then cut him w/ a 6/1 designation)
Both will submit their papers after 6/1 so their dead cap hits could be spread over 2 years.

It honestly doesn’t make sense to cut maddox as a pre June 1st cut. It’s 7.7 mil dead money and only 1.9 cap savings. Post June 1st it’s 2.6 mil dead money and 7.1 mil cap savings. However the fact they are likely using post June 1 cox and bradberry. Meaning  maddox isn’t a post June 1st. At that point I’m guessing he’s back. I believe you only get 2 post June 1st cuts
