  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

It honestly doesn’t make sense to cut maddox as a pre June 1st cut. It’s 7.7 mil dead money and only 1.9 cap savings. Post June 1st it’s 2.6 mil dead money and 7.1 mil cap savings. However the fact they are likely using post June 1 cox and bradberry. Meaning  maddox isn’t a post June 1st. At that point I’m guessing he’s back. I believe you only get 2 post June 1st cuts

You only get to designate 2 players as post-June 1st cuts in March.  Kelce, Cox and BG's contracts were purposely structured to allow them to be designated as 6/1 cuts.  The reasoning was that Kelce would retire and they could cut both Cox and BG . However, if Cox is retiring and BG agrees to come back on a cheap deal. That opens up the 2 spots for  Bradberry, Sweat and/or Maddox. One of those has to be Bradberry so the choice was between Sweat and Maddox.

Can’t see it being sweat when we already were having pass rushing issues. I also think sweat just got run down playing the snaps he did. Maddox just can’t stay healthy. I’d do him. But have a feeling he’s likely going to stay cause eagles won’t do it.

(Ignore my previous post, I had my players crossed)

Yeah, unless you want to take the additional hit this year.

Ah makes sense.

I think he just likes to troll the media and fans

I'm not sure about that. He likes to play victim way too much if he just wants to troll people.

Sheesh, bent him over backwards

I don't really believe he is a 3-5th rounder.

Probably a 1st rounder in a lot of drafts.  I can't see him lasting long in to the 2nd round.

Played with Caleb and only had 700 receiving yards. Compare him to Harrison, Nabers, etc. He's in a very strong class. I'd say 2nd round at best and that's a stretch.

Not saying this necessarily means anything. But these are softball questions and weird responses.

He's an idiot.

SC had/has a stack WR group. 700 yards is still impressive while sharing the field with Washington, Branch, Williams, Singer, and Robinson. I'm a big fan of Rice. I hope he falls and is available in the later rounds

I'm a big fan of AJ but he needs to stop acting like a kid

That's a fun exercise.  If you could give any player in Eagles history (at any time) a body part of yours to replace theirs, who would it be and when?

QB1 needs a brain. Maybe @olsilverhairwill replace his brain and mouth with QB1

Yeah strong class is why I believe round 2.

Now we have McKee for that.

By the way it never became clear that Strong was terrible. If I could give him a knee, he would probably be the next Mahomes.

McKee can actually play though.

I would normally agree, but you either have to extend Sweat or cut him (post 6/1). You can't go into the season with a $21M dead cap charge (a number that can't be reduced) in 2025 if he leaves via free agency, especially with they're likely to have about $45-50M in 2025 dead cap charges already.

Given that Reddick's deal is also up after 2024 they're going to have to extend him or Sweat this offseason. If they extend Sweat and don't want to give Reddick a long term deal, they'll likely restructure his contract and convert most of this year's salary to signing bonus.  It's possible to do both, but unlikely.  But they almost have to extend one of them as the only edge rusher currently under contract in 2025 is Nolan Smith.

No. If he's retiring he'll simply wait until after June 1st to hand in his retirement papers b/c it allows the team to spread the dead cap over 2 seasons.  It also frees up 1 of the 2 permitted spots to cut with a June 1st designation (ideally Bradberry).

Stewart Bradley could have my ACL. I'll never forgive flight night

Imo I think Nolan smith was drafted for this very reason. I think smith was expected to be the guy who eventually replaced Reddick when his contract expired. Add on Reddick is going to be 30 next year and when the extension kicks in 31. I think they’ll choose sweat over Reddick even though sweat was really not good for most of this year. Sweat is just turning 27 and i think they’ll believe his decline is likely  (assuming his health holds up) on the next contract then Reddick. But i tend to agree i think it’s one or the other

Frankly just accepted that most great WRs are divas. It’s refreshing that smith isn’t in that mold.

Imagine getting, Harrison Jr, Rice Jr, Trotter Jr, then for good measure, the son of our former RB, Frank Gore Jr. all from the draft. Could also sign Winfield Jr and trade for Surtain Jr.

Looking at the WR class it's hard not to notice the top of the board has mostly tall, fast WR talent.  Harrison, Odunze, Coleman, Franklin, Legette, Brian Thomas, Mitchell, Devontez Walker, and Rice are all 6'3 and 6'4.  WR3 is certainly a spot worth improvement.  Some AJ Brown insurance could also be prudent.

Most of the needs are on defense but you also have to look at the value of the draft.  Getting a WR who has a chance to be a stud on a cheap entry level deal is always good cap management.
