Still no word on QB coach. Guessing Mike Caldwell is waiting to see if he gets a DC job before he commits to the Eagles for LB coach.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Rodgers did an interview with ESPN about his gambling issues. Curious how this is going to come across to the Eagles organization because he's not really taking accountability and his story sounds pretty bogus to be honest.

"Once my phone was geotagged from the first bet, I have to take accountability for every bet."

"I knew the rules. I knew I wasn’t supposed to do it," Rodgers said. "I have to take what comes with it.”

Errr….not sure you can be anymore accountable than that.

Simple. Not saying

"That bet wasn't directly Isaiah Rodgers placing that bet"

"I never included myself into any of the gambling"

"I never took any dollar. I never took a dollar for me. I never placed a bet for me to win"

"That report is true, with it being $1,000, but that report wasn't made from my device" - directly contradicting what he just said

"The $25 to $50 bets are exactly true, but it was more crazy-leg parlays with just $25 trying to make a crazy amount. Just funny bets. Nothing too serious." - again directly contradicting what he just said about never placing a bet

When you have an excuse for everything, blame others and point fingers, even after taking some accountability, you aren't being very accountable.

I know the blog is obsessed about upgrading the 3rd WR slot but I think it's a misuse of resources.  Even if a 3rd WR took all of the targets from Quez, Julio and Zaccheus, you're talking about 36 receptions on 60 targets.  Boyd had 81 targets last season.  I just don't think adding a more talented 3rd WR is going to change the amount of targets.  If you use Boyd's catch percentage and yards per reception replacing Quez, Julio and Zaccheus, his production would be 40 catches for 448 yards.  I just don't see the value added given the investment.

That’s the same logic of why I don’t think they’re gonna take a wide receiver early unless they’re planning on Smith or Brown not being here long-term. That’s about the only way I think they take a wide receiver in the first or second round. I tend to think they’re gonna take one in round 3-5 then sign someone similar to Julio Jones. But maybe a guy who was a little bit younger that’s willing to take a one year deal to try to win a Super Bowl.

They 100% need to find a reliable WR3. Bringing in a guy like Tyler Boyd is silly. Like you said, it's all about the targets. Boyd averaged 65 catches/year with the Bengals.

Zaccheaus had 10 catches in 2023. Zach Pascal had 15 in 2022. Until they change how they use WR3, bringing in a top veteran doesn't make sense.

I think Van Jefferson is the perfect WR3 to bring in and then add some juice in the draft.

I would rather they pay more for a better LB than invest more at a 3rd WR.

Look man, betting on things is fun.  It sounds to me like you just don't like fun or fun people.

No. I love degenerates. And rule #1 of being a gambling degenerate, is embracing it.

Anyone fill me in on how the tight end class looks this year? Goedert is 29 going on 30 and has missed 4+ games 3 of the last 4 years. 2025 might be his last year here as his cap number jumps to 23.8 mil in 2026 and cutting him would save $17.9 mil ($5.9 dead money) and he’d be 31 at that point. Seems like it could be a year they invest in a tight end

I think I'm settling to the conclusion Goedert is one of the most overrated players to this fanbase. I certainly would consider bringing in some actual competition in the mid rounds.

Hurts' days are numbered.

But I'd rather have Penix (who sounds like he's been overvalued by draft websites) if he falls in to round 2. or almost anyone but Rattler.

I guess it’s how you view it.  Pretty sure, he’ll be fine.

I said the same thing this year. I think he’s overrated by our fan base. You see all over Twitter eagles fans think he’s a top 5 tight end. He’s not. He’s been surpassed by some guys. I still think he’s top 10 but he’s not top 5. Like kelce, Hockenson, Laporta, andrews and kittle are better. I’d debate engram the last two years has been really productive for the jags. McBride, Kincaid and Ferguson very well might pass him this year.
