But Engram also stays healthy. He’s missed 2 games in 4 years and hasn’t missed a game in 2 years. Goedert has missed 15 in 4 years. That matters. Add on people in 2022 downplayed engram’s 2022 year and he went out and had a better 2023 season

Cherry picking. Engram missed 14 games in the 3 years prior. Over his career, he's missed 12% of games due to injury while Goeddert has missed 15%. They've both been injury prone over their careers.

Actually had this conversation with my friend last week what would your top 5 Adam Sandler movies be:

mine was

1. happy gilmore

2. Billy Madison

3. The waterboy

4. Hustle

5.  Anger management

i know others will have Spanglish and punch drunk love on their list.

When you miss 0 games in 2 years and 2 in 4 years you’ve likely overcome your injury prone status. He was early and in the last 4 years he’s missed 2 and 0 in 2022 and 2023.

he had a 2 year period where he missed significant games. 2018 and 2019. He played 11 of 16 and 8 of 16.

2017: 15 of 16

2020: 16 of 16

2021: 15 of 17

2022: 17 of 17

2023: 17 of 17

goedert has actually been the opposite. Started off healthy and last 4 years been injury prone

2018: 16 of 16

2019: 15 of 16

2020: 11 of 16

2021: 15 of 17

2022: 12 of 17

2023: 14 of 17

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think Evan engram is some generational talent at tight end. But like you said, there’s way too many people that view engram for what he was with the giants and not how he’s played the last two years. One of the things Doug has done well down there is maximize engram’s talent.  Since 2016 only tight ends finish top 5 receiving yards and receptions at that position two years in a row: kelce (every time), kittle (multiple times) ertz (multiple times), andrews, hockenson, Waller and engram.

No one has suggested that.

It's called a sequel. After his boxing career he joined the Army Commando unit. After losing his arm he then went on to pursue a career of golf mentor. Now he's in the clouds and will eventually become mayor of Cloud City.

Where does Bounty Hunter on Tatooine fit in with this?  He also ended up mayor of that little city, iirc.

Sounds more like recency bias than him overcoming anything.

Good list but I'd swap out Anger Management for The Wedding Singer.

We use to do Adam Sandler drinking nights in college.  For example we would have to do a shot of (I forget) every time Happy got violent.  Waterboy: chug a beer when he tackled someone.  Edit: We had a max of 3 beers per game\scene.  So championship game we were capped at 3 and I think by that point (since we all knew the movie well) we could spread them out too.

The last one was Wedding Singer.  Did a kamakazi shot every time there was an 80s song.  Seemed like a solid plan, but we forgot about the quick scene cuts.  The tradition ended there.

I haven't seen it but heard really good things.  I guess we need to distinguish is the list "Adam Sandler movies" or "Movies that Adam Sandler starred in"

He’s got some that were hard to leave off or weren’t as good that were still enjoyable for what they were. Uncut gems, little Nicky, wedding singer, Chuck and Larry, zohan Mr. Deeds, 8 crazy nights, big daddy and 50 first dates.

I can see why a lot of people loved it. Wasn’t my cup of tea.

Little Nicky for the pineapple scene and nothing else.

Zohan: under rated.

Never saw 50 first dates.

Same.

Hubie Halloween is tops for me.  I've never cared to watch any of his movies more than once but that is now a classic to put on each Halloween season in my house.

Never heard of it but will have to check it out.

....Which reminds me:  The Hotel Transylvania movies.  Really didn't like them on first watch but with having a toddler and seeing them about a dozen times each they grew on me a bit.

50 first dates was good. It was a unique story and had some good laughs in it.

i tend to think little Nicky is behind uncut gems Zohan, Chuck and Larry, wedding singer, mr. Deeds, big daddy and 8 crazy nights. And some others I’d have to go back and check his entire list.

Maybe I'll get schmoopie to watch it this weekend if she hasn't seen it.

Speaking of... Murder Mystery (and Murder Mystery 2).  Saw the first one without knowing what to expect and we ended up being pleasantly surprised.  2nd one is solid too.

Haven’t seen either one of the murder ones. I’ll have to check it out.

50 firsts dates is a good date movie.
