Philly fans attack/boo their own team.  Rational people say "WTF is up with those horrid Philly fans?"   Philly fans respond with evidence of fans attacking the other team,  as if there was no difference between attacking their own team and the other team.

See, this is what happens when you don't understand the history and/or the dynamics of a team.  Kelly Stafford is Matt Stafford's wife.  Matt Stafford was drafted and spent the first 10? years with the Lions.  Them booing his wife is anything but classy - and no, it has little to do with "attacking" the other team, sorry.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

On the new Sheil ringer podcast he mentioned McManus I think had the intel that Howie is the one who wanted Patricia here and his office was down the hall from him which seemed to disgruntle staff. But Jeff & Howie are 100% innocent and absolved of everything. It's always everyone else, got it

They would probably have to do something's nuts for him to come back.  Like Stoutland as the HC, and the only way that happens is if Lurie wants to run it back with more talented personnel on defense.

I wouldn't be opposed to making Stoutland head coach.  Get him strong offensive and defensive coordinators and let's go!

What could Sirianni say to convince him that he's not an idiot? The coaching speaks for itself. You don't just gain IQ points. He's a bad offensive mind.

The only thing he has is the 10-1 record this year before tanking the team, taking the team to the playoffs 3 years in a row, and taking them to the SB last year

Hurts ran one time for 5 yards against Tampa Bay; I'm very curious to find out what is going on with him physically.  I think he became less and less mobile as the season went on, and was limited a bit right from Week 1.  This season showed pretty clearly if he's not a dual threat, his effectiveness goes way down.

It's all speculation my man based on past circumstances. No one said it's definitive but the way things broke down and the fact that the players like AJ and Hurts have been going to bat for Siri smells like something is happening that's not fully in his control. If you think Siri had a huge say in the hiring decisions when we know Howie has that control I don't know what to tell you. Do you think it was Siri that said hey Patricia come on in. Way more likely that the FO is making these calls than yes man Siri.

I don't know enough to be definitive.  We smoked Patricia in the SB, he failed as a HC, and our star CB who Howie signed to big $$ couldn't stand him.  Why would Howie dictate he joins the team as a consultant?  Furthermore,  Siri comes off a great regular season, turning Hurts into an MVP candidate, a SB loss that everybody blamed on the DC.  Siri was at his power peak last off season.  Last off season no way Siri was just a yes man, he was The Man.

What really bothered me about the entire Desai/Patricia transition was, we were told Desai is still the DC and Patricia is just calling plays during games.  Then we hear these reports that the players are using the excuse the defense is so bad because guys are re-learning assignments.  That doesn't make any sense at all unless Patricia is installing defensive plays -- which is completely asinine to try in Week 15.

We know that Doug said that he was keeping Groh as OC and keeping Carson Walch as the WR coach.  But, that lasted a full day before they were gone and we got that horrific coaching heirarchy with no true OC, adding Rich Sangarello to the mix and the disaster that followed.  And we know that it was Doug standing up the next year and demanding that he got to pick his assistants that ultimately got him fired.

Are you suggesting that it is beyond the realm of possible for Lowie to dictate coaching staff moves on a HC?

We don't know that it was Lowie or not... but we also don't know that it wasn't.   Nick said that it was his call.  But, we all know what a coach says in a PC may not be the case.   The day before, Nick said there would be no coaching changes.  (Kind of like what Doug said about his assistants, before there were changes.)

Who really knows?   And therein lies a bit of the problem.

Yep.

Well -- the offense began to bog down even before the losing started.  Even during the stretch where they beat BUF and KC, there were four consecutive games where the offense scored 6 points, 6 points, 7 points, and 7 points in the first half of those games.  The boat was severely leaking at that point already.

That was the time Sirianni should have taken over play calling.  Instead, they did the opposite and let Patricia take over defensive play calling.  The result was both offense and defense were completely dysfunctional, and losses to ARI, NYG, and TB were the end result.

Yup, Bowels was laughing the whole time because it was like playing a highschool offense.

Can you imagine how much  better smith would be if the coaches actually schemed him open instead of just telling him to go out and beat his guy, which he regularly does.

Same with defense??? Are you joking. The coordinators were terrible but between high fiving guys as a tackles or being completely lost in coverage, I would say that’s on the players. We need 5-7 new guys on defense. That is not the case on offense.

So it's the players fault that the guy that Bill Bellichick glove puppeted into the Detroit head coach job decided to try and implement his own scheme (which died on it's ass in Detroit) in late season, a scheme which included dropping defensive ends into coverage and produced a worse result than the guy he replaced?

A man so good at calling a defense that Bellichick performed a reverse Castillo on him when he returned to NE and made him offensive line coach.

Actually, other teams fans boo their own team all the time too. Cowboys fans booed Dak last year at a home game, Colts fans booed Andrew Luck after he disclosed mental health issues, there are plenty of games you hear home fans boo their teams when they're not playing well.  Philly is just known for it.

Also, it's WELL KNOWN by Philly fans and athletes and coaches that booing is the way the fans communicate with the team.  They are booing a play call, a player not giving effort, poor performance.  Many star players have said this and understand the relationship.  The fans also cheer and support, they're loud on 3rd down, they're disruptive to the other team.

Paying customers have a right to express their reviews.  Negative restaurant or movie reviews online because you didn't like the product you paid for.  No one says "you should be more supportive of the restaurant, they're working hard."  No, if your favorite restaurant started sucking and you leave a review it's so they know the feedback and can get better.

Eagles fans will sit outside NovaCare with a sign that says "Run the Ball" because they care and want to get the message across.

BB to Atlanta?  Curious what they do with QB down there.

We had Gannon as the coordinator last year and for the first 7 or so games, he did this with Reddick.  Gannon was a bad coordinator but the players were better.  How'd we do last year?

@Random Reglar I don't mean this rudely, but are you new to following the team? Lurie has talked for years in interviews and press conferences about wanting explosive offense and great QB play.

The players were better and the schedule was a lot softer, Gannon with this roster would've been a disaster.

It's going to be a mutiny in this city if Sirianni stays. Then followed by total apathy, it will suck the life out of the entire offseason before it starts.

If the Front Office didn't interfere in Doug's final year then I want someone to explain what did actually happen, because we went from keeping the same staff to having Morninwheg, Scangarello and Jim Bob Cooter (I forgot about him until I spotted it in his bio earlier) as an offensive committee which came up with something utterly unwatchable.

Sirianni, if he stays, would need to get HR swings on both coordinators to avoid this. Possible at DC. Not possible at OC.

This can’t be an easy decision for Lurie. The fans want blood, but potential coaches would see some serious warts with this job.

I suppose that depends on Siri's character, and if he feels like he has to save his job (if he wants the job still).  He points to his record of wins, playoff appearances 3 years in a row and making the SB in just his 2nd year.  He could throw the coordinators under the bus and blame them. He can blame injuries, the tough schedule, the "gauntlet" and the fact that he's got a lot of young guys who are still developing and next year after a strong offseason guys like Carter, Davis, Ringo, Ricks, Jurgens, etc. will be ready to do more.  He can throw Bradberry under the bus.  Point to the safeties being an undrafted free agent overachieving and a 3rd round rookie thrown in there and a has-been Byard.  He could point to lack of LBs.

If he sees too much pressure and doesn't want to be on the hot seat or a short leash next year, maybe he doesn't even want to be back.  Maybe he thinks he could get hired somewhere else with less pressure - he could think a team that hasn't been winning in a while would easily hire a coach who in his first ever HC job took a team to the playoffs 3 years in a row and made a SB.  Just speculating, but he might like the collaboration with Howie or he might not and want to use it as an excuse to go, who knows.

Lurie will be looking for a leader of men with a plan, not excuses.  Siri seems very immature and I don't know if he can handle the pressure of a "board meeting" situation where he has to fight to save his job.

Don't even think that would avoid this because the coordinators would still be running his offense that the league has figured out, and even if they do well they'll be gone in a year and everyone knows it would be a one year thing again and back to sucking.

Especially if one or both coordinators stay on as well. Ugh.

Just now, Sack that QB said:

That's why I don't think he stays.  Other than the "media speak" we get during the season from players, etc - the exit meetings today will be "real talk" by players to Lurie, Howie, etc  The truth will come out during those exit interviews and there's a high chance that Sirianni won't come out shining according to player opinions.  That and knowing that 80% of the fanbase wants Sirianni gone should be enough of a reason for them to make a change.

This organization despises losing team and media support - heck, they don't like it when other Philly teams get most of the attention let alone them becoming thought of a 2nd rate team within the city.  The writing is on the wall, imo - just a matter of time is my guess.
