Who's the Pumphrey of this class? That's who we're gettingĀ

Who's the undersized not explosive RB of this class? What do you mean?

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Im starting to think I really actually like this RB class despite not great top tier talent. Feels like last years where you could find a ton of mid-round power runners.

Theres a bunch of guys who arent super exciting but can all fill a role in the rotation.

I keep looking at lesser known guys and wanting to make a new thread about almost all of them. I just saw Jase McClellan from Alabama and thought he looks like a poor mans Mark Ingram. Same build. Same running style. Take him over Gainwell for the tough yards 100/100.

Dak didn’t play in 5 games in 2022 also. The 2021 offense was very good. In any case good coaches learn with each success and failure and you hope he’s a good coach

I don't think they really did that great this year anyway. They just put up gaudy numbers versus non-playoff teams and struggled heavily against playoff teams except for us. Seems like most of the difference was just Dak not having as many boneheaded INTs.

In a deep RB class we came out with pumphrey. So who is the most underwhelming player available in this esteemed class?

This WR draft is just so ridiculous. There are so many guys that Im not even excited about someone like Polk when in reality, Polk looks like a Diggs type of player. He isnt a speedster but just fast enough to be dangerous. Such strong hands, really holds on to balls you wouldnt expect him to with some of the hits he takes.

I just looked at some Burton, and nobody talks about him. He looks like another DJ Moore. Really solid route runner. Not the biggest guy, but plays bigger than he is. Strong hands on him as well. Wants to run after the catch. And has speed to burn.

These guys havent been on my list of wants. Ive hardly even paid attention to them. Theyre not the exciting 6'3'' speedsters that this draft has plenty of. They arent the incredible route runners like McConkey and Pearsall.

But they are really, really solid all around players who belong very high in round 2 and will likely go late 2 or in to the 3rd round because there are so damn many WRs. And if the eagles took one of these guys, I wouldnt be one bit upset. They both look like they have inside outside versatility.

And I think Burton has the speed we should be looking to add.Ā

I think it is telling who the Eagles signed to future contracts. Ā A lot of focus on size. Ā I look for a larger slot WR this year. Ā They can’t continue to leave the middle of the field totally untargeted. Ā

I dont know why looking at two 2 and a half minute highlight videos can make be believe in these two identical twin WRs from SDSU. Maybe its the Cooper Kupp factor and these guys are white. Maybe its that Goedert was able to have immediate success in the NFL despite not being the most phenomenal athlete- these guys just look tough. Theyre big, and they play like big WRs. Not that they win jump balls. Theyre actually getting separation. But theyre tough to bring down after the catch. They shrug a DB off and run after the catch. They might be sneaky fast long striders too.

I predict we will choose the brother who busts, and the other will be a star. But theoretically we have a 50% chance to get this right.

I actually think it was both the play calling and the play design. But I also think that when you have less options installed, your play calling gets worse too if you have a style that relies on variety. So maybe a 'both made each other worse' is a fair take.

Agree. Ā The lack of motion on both sides of the ball effectively removed disguise from both the offense and defense.

Jackrabbits didn’t play powerhouses so the DBs you refer to won’t be playing on Sunday. Ā

Correct. And yet,Ā  these guys can still possibly be good players anyway.

I’m not in the building so what do I know, but I’m not a fan of retaining basically the entire offensive staff besides Brian Johnson and Alex Tanney. Feels like a major half measure they love to do that will result in the coaching staff clashing all season.Ā

It’s going to be Moore and his buddy vs the rest of staff who were buddies of Brian Johnson and miffed he took the fall vs whatever Sirianni wants to interject in the offense.Ā

I think Morehead is most likely to go. Let’s see.Ā

I disagree. WR and TE’s coach can go. Neither positions have shown any kind of development.

Either way my point was more about the inner office workings. Bringing in a new guy, who doesn’t sound all that friendly, to be boss over the old staff who weren’t happy about losing their old boss could be a problem. Feels very 2020ish with trying to take too many different pieces and trying to make them all fit together.Ā

I doubt the TE coach goes anywhere. Jason Micheal followed Siri so likely to be one of his guys.

The problem is that they are now going to be even more in seller mode. And just yesterday it came out that we are willing to give a 1st for DeRozan.

DeRozan will help keep the team afloat this season forming a good scoring duo with Maxey. But thats a waste of a 1st round pick when they need assets for the summer time since there are no really good free agents to just pay on the free agent market. Theyre going to need to make trades.Ā

Not a fan of the move but guess the other way to look at it is which we shouldn’t undersell is if you are planing on making a serious run next year, it helps to give your #2 guy who is only 23 some more playoff experience as a leading guy on the team. His previous experience has been in a supportingĀ role.Ā

If Embiid comes back moving a first round pick would be worth DeRozan Rental. FRP no where close to the value of an NFL pick. Getting a certified 20 ppg from a scorer who can create his own shot would be huge for Embiid relief, and relying less on Tobi as a scorer.Ā

76ers have wasted the career of who could’ve been the best 76er of all time all on their own decisions.Ā

Always thought that was a Joe Douglas pick. They waited too long. Aaron Jones was the only other back that was actually good picked after Pumphrey. Marlon Mack had some moments. I blame Sproles though lol. Hopefully they grab a WR before the 4th.

Why have we lost black backgrounds for dark mode themes. The white is like going back in time 20 yearsĀ

Malachi Corley at WR3 might be worth investing a late RD2 pick. The more I watch of him and read about him the more intrigued I am about his NFL trajectory. Could really elevate the Eagles offense with two other great WRs on the edges.

Slot monster with huge YAC potential.

He is Deebo Jr.

A tinker toy that could infuse some creativity into what became a stale and predictable offense last season.

It's a want. I know there are more pressing needs that could be addressed at that pick.

But damn it would be fun to watch defenses try to defend Brown, Smith, Corley, and Goedert. Especially with Kellen Moore at the helm.

Agreed…they didn’t do that great this year. Ā In 2022, Moore’s offense was #1 in the NFL in red zone efficiency…scored TDs 71% of the time on RZ trips. Ā It dropped to 57% under McCarthy against weaker defensesĀ

The cowboys put up over 600 yards against the giants in a single game. They also had the benefit of playing against some of the worst defenses, like the giants, eagles, commanders. Twice.

Embiid has a body that is not capable of staying healthy. Ā He’s a top 2 player in the nba every year and has never been a top 10 player in the playoffs in his career. Ā That’s not all on everyone but him.

It's not about the player you can draft with the pick.Ā  It's the fact that you need them to make blockbuster trades for stars. It has immense value.Ā

Yep.Ā  6ers could have made all the right decisions and Embiid would have still been injured every single year anyway.Ā

6ers Fd up a lot but it didn't really hurt anything in the end because Embiid was never capable of being the building block.Ā Ā

Actually making him the franchise player is their most disastrous mistake.Ā

I agree with many of these statements, but the Jrue Holiday move was made a full year before Embiid came to the Sixers and it could be argued that had they kept Holiday, that they wouldn't have been able to draft Embiid.Ā  Ā Trading Holiday was basically the first step in 'The Process'.Ā Ā

What a day.Ā

man... Im watching a quick version of the senior bowl. Tez Walker had a disastrous week. He couldnt catch anything in the game either.
