Sirianni, if he stays, would need to get HR swings on both coordinators to avoid this. Possible at DC. Not possible at OC.

He probably won’t be able to get the hot name at OC, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hire what turns out to be a home run.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

BB to Atlanta?  Curious what they do with QB down there.

Lemme guess.  He sat down and said "28-3"

@Random Reglar I don't mean this rudely, but are you new to following the team? Lurie has talked for years in interviews and press conferences about wanting explosive offense and great QB play.

psst.... It's very likely he's not an eagles fan

This can’t be an easy decision for Lurie. The fans want blood, but potential coaches would see some serious warts with this job.

*Unless they decide to promote both a fan and player favorite like Stoutland as head coach - then bring in both new offensive & defensive coordinators for him.  That would likely work all around, imo.

On the new Sheil ringer podcast he mentioned McManus I think had the intel that Howie is the one who wanted Patricia here and his office was down the hall from him which seemed to disgruntle staff. But Jeff & Howie are 100% innocent and absolved of everything. It's always everyone else, got it

Kelce:  "They put Sean Desai on the other side of the building, we didn't see him for a year!"

If that's true, bad news because if Howie likes Patricia he could be back.  Ew.

I honestly don't think so. I think that logic is being overplayed. Any candidate who watched that game on Monday night would immediately understand why he was fired. That was one of the worst coaching jobs you'll ever see. And considering coaches watch film on teams to prepare for interviews, when they watch film of the Eagles and see how poorly coached they are I think their immediate reaction is going to be "My god... what the hell am I watching here? What I could do with this offense..." rather than "Why the hell would they fire Nick???"

Out of curiosity, what warts do you see?  I don't disagree they are there, I have a funny feeling the lists may be different.

Not if they are smart.  10-1 to losing the next 6 out of 7 and first round exit?  That is called accountability.  No games were even close loses or games that showed the team was starting to get better.  They got worse!

The idea that this is not a desirable coaching job is crazy.

The last 4(!!!) HCs we fired all got new HC coaching jobs within 2 years. We pay well. We win.

If a HC is too soft for this market (ex: Arthur Smith), then it was going to fail anyway.

I assumed he meant we let head coaches go too easily but I could be wrong.

What I think Banner is insulating is Atlanta seems much more active in the HC search than Tennessee, LA, Carolina, Washington, et

they’re the only reported team to interview the top 2 candidates, and they’re the most public in their accelerated coaching search. Who has official Twitter posts ready that they interviewed some guy? They want you to know they’re crushing this.

It's going to be a mutiny in this city if Sirianni stays. Then followed by total apathy, it will suck the life out of the entire offseason before it starts.

Now you're being overly dramatic.  The defense needs a complete overhaul, the offense needs a scheme change.

What really bothered me about the entire Desai/Patricia transition was, we were told Desai is still the DC and Patricia is just calling plays during games.  Then we hear these reports that the players are using the excuse the defense is so bad because guys are re-learning assignments.  That doesn't make any sense at all unless Patricia is installing defensive plays -- which is completely asinine to try in Week 15.

This is exactly what happened. There were reports that Patricia was using new/different terminology and players were having to relearn a lot of it on the fly. The DBs were already confused on what they were supposed to do before the transition, and now they had to change everything.

Oh he's one of those.  🙄

Not getting the latter as long as Sirianni is here. And if somehow the Eagles did that means that your offensive head coach wouldn't be in charge of his own team's offense which begs the question what exactly he's still doing here in the first place?

Vrabel with Arthur Smith seems like a no-brainer.

I agree, but you make the transition sound so easy...there are a lot details involved such a change...personnel, coaching, FO... I still believe it starts with Sirianni. If he lost the locker room, he must go.

What do Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh do?

IF -- that is still to be determined and there is no objective evidence or reporting to support that, yet.

That plus Howie having too much influence were my top 2.  Cap health #3A. Roster Age #3B.

Greg Roman and Pete Carmichael are both likely to be available two months from now.  Both have extensive OC experience.

Those are two coaches with a lot of political capital and their teams always play hard. I don't think Sirianni carries that much influence.

Now that seems crazy.  He took the Browns to the playoffs with what?  Their 4th starting QB?  Wow.

Too often fans want change just for the sake of change ….. and it adds a little excitement, until that guy has a off year , rinse and repeat

I don't know about you, but I know when a team quits and shows minimal effort in a game.
