I’m not very sentimental with players.  I don’t treasure watching anyone play.  I treasure winning.

And while Kelce is still playing pro bowl level center, I’m more interested in seeing the future of the roster take shape.  And he’s standing in the way of that future as we watch a second round pick play out of position at RG and underachieve.

The Eagles are hitting a mini reset and are probably eying 2025 more than 2024 as their build up and strike season.  At that point, another year of Kelce may be 2 more years of Kelce and before we know it he’ll just be Jason Petersing it.

Why would 2025 be the year they strike after the Hurts contract has more impact on the cap? They're still in a good spot this year and Kelce is better than either of those two at center. I don't think he comes back but if he does then this has to be the year they go all in. Last year was really their shot and they blew it

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I can't believe Jason Kelce didn't fully commit to retirement to that random fan he met in Orlando.  What an attention ****. :furious:

Yeah I’m fine with kelce Petersing it if he continues to play at the level he does and stays healthy. It’s only a problem if he significantly declines and/or gets hurt. we are unlikely to see a center that’s as great as kelce is in our lifetimes again. It’s like dawkins. We might have some good safety’s come along but we are likely never seeing Dawkins type safety for the eagles. If he wants to keep playing then more power to him. I don’t think he’d keep playing if he knew he wasn’t at his standard unlike peters

to your last point, i said the same thing after they lost. That might have been their best shot at a title with this core when you consider hurts contract and how he played in that game, everyone was healthy for that Super Bowl and arguably have been the most overall talented eagles team in eagles history. Add on I’d say their path to the Super Bowl was fortuitous  with facing Daniel jones and knocking purdy out of the game. Like what Dan Campbell said to the lions after losing to the niners, might be your only shot cause you never know. I’m hoping it’s not but you never know it very well may have been with this core.

They should rename it to passing defense coordinator. It gets confusing having one on both sides of the ball. If he is, they'll still need a DB coach since DK left.

Interesting that we haven’t hired a LB coach yet. Maybe we’re holding out on Staley to decide. Barry and Caldwell are good fall back options.

I think it’ll be Caldwell. He’s probably holding out hope he can land a DC gig and Dallas is still open. Once they decide on a name I wouldn’t be shocked if the Eagles hire Caldwell shortly after. Or Barry.

I think Staley is less likely. It would be a major ego check to fall all the way from head coach to position coach, I wonder if he’d even consider it.

Maybe we are just not going to have any linebackers next year….

Speaking for all the posters in Europe, and Eagles game in Brazil double sucks.

Couldn’t agree more! Giving up a home game and a Friday night game which will be a real late one for us in Europe. Not a good way to start the season!

Just like this past season?

Not fond of international games, and I think it’s stupid to play it week 1. The Eagles haven’t opened in Philly in week 1 since 2019 against the Redskins. It also sees goofy opening on a Friday. On a personal level, I’m glad the date falls on September 6th, but I still think it’d have been better to maybe do this week 2 or 3. I think I get why it’s so early.  Brazil would be entering their summer season the later in the season they went. As it is now, we’re going in the late spring.

The only time to play in the Southern Hemisphere is September and the first game.  Travel like that mid-season would suck.

Not sure why they keep effing with fields that teams have no complaints over. You think they would've learned from last year...

Because of the spectacle they've created regarding the halftime show that can destroy a regular field.  Maybe have the halftime garbage OFF SITE... and you can sell tickets to THAT too and make even more money.

This seems to be the progression that makes the most sense with this team.

There's an easy solution to that... then just don't do it.   Easy peasy.

Shhhh…you weren’t supposed to leak the "Super 7 DB Double Dime Defense” concept yet.  SMH.

I like it.  Eagles in Brazil on a Friday is OK by me once or twice a decade.  I hope they play in Thailand when I move there in a few years.

Glad to get the international game out of the way during a rebuilding year!

It’s not really a rebuilding year.  Comeback year maybe -  not a rebuild year though.

Yes it is.  Did you watch this team end this last season?

We have a long way to go and it won’t be done in one year.

This is going to be the pinnacle of Big Dom’s career.

There will be a Big Dom action movie based on real life events after this.
