Wall of words and more stats trying to explain something that you’re off base on…he wasn’t good this year.  Given what happened coaching wise, to be expected…but he needs to be better.

Schedule also wasnt a layup anymore

Bo and Zach said yesterday that they did an interview with Brian Billick(hasn't aired yet I don't believe) and they said during the interview he told them in 2013 before the Eagles hired Chip, they came very close to hiring Brian Billick. Which is interesting because Gus Bradley felt like he was almost the guy, so maybe Billick was earlier in the process once Chip originally turned them down.

It just aired. Billick said it wasn't a real interview, they had their mind set on Chip and more or less wanted validation on it.

He is 8th in the PFF QB grades.  He was top 3 in terms of total TDs as a QB.  His EPA per drive was also top 10. I don't think he was the primary problem.

When will we stop using PFF in here? The site is garbage. And as we've been discussing this entire offense was set up to run the Tush Push, so his TD numbers are inflated by that. He was average this year, it is what it is. Hopefully Moore gets him back on track or else we're F'ed

That said, he wasn't the primary problem but he definitely was a problem.

I’m not sure what games you watched…outside of a few games he was pretty average, being kind.

Yup

they were winning despite his errors and the coaching.

they were strong against Miami and then it all started crumbling

It’s widely known they played to set up the play…so we’re really just not acknowledging that Siri, BJ & co forgot there was other skill position players on the team.

Right... he told his guys to go down at the one and two. Got it :)

No PFF is only garbage when it disagrees with me.  In this case, it's better than any other point made on the blog so far in the history of the blog.

thats opinion not fact

the how matters alot when you look at the sustainability of an approach

It’s a fact that he is 4th in total touchdowns over the last two seasons… the response was that I was trying to have "gotcha” moment when I was just stating a fact. How you internet and value/devalue that fact is where your opinion comes Into play.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.  They used it as a tool but it became a distraction in the way the offense operated; frankly, I hope it is used only minimally next season and forward.  I've said it before, when the defense in the playoffs HAS to stop something, they will find a way to stop it -- and Tampa Bay did.

Yup, he needs to be better. He also needs more possessions with the ball where the defense isn’t giving up 7. He also needs more consistency and offensive creativity in the run game. He also needs more options versus blitz and pressure looks.

Again, stats on either side of opinion are a part of the story. This entire team was underwhelming this year, and based on what we watched, I’m way less critical of Hurts due to the awful coaching decisions we had to endure over and over again. This team was abysmal to finish the season, on every level. Hurts and the WRs is the last thing I’m worried about.

Again, this is all coming from an initial post indicating that Hurts has just this 1 upcoming season to prove himself. Which is simply not true. He’s our starter, get used to it.

More people visit TATE than ATNFL and if it's not right there, the Blog will end up being used, and I'd rather have a dedicated Super Bowl thread rather than a bunch of pages on the Super Bowl in the Blog. The speed of the Blog loading is one reason but having a dedicated thread will also be good for the search engines indexing it for random searches on Google or whatnot.

Difference was Defense stopped Brady at the end … Defense didn’t hold up their end of the Deal versus Mahommes for an entire half. 1 incompletion, 0 punts, 0 turnovers, 0 sacks, zero 3rd down stops for 30 minutes.

Haters gonna hate. Hurts put up an all-time performance in the Super Bowl.

They play every 1st down as 1st and 9…the amount of screens, running out of almost exclusively shotgun, lack of motion, lack of use of the middle of the field…it’s exactly what I said.  They forgot their skill position players existed.

Yeah i was thinking of the other alshon tipped ball vs. saints.

Foles also threw an awful interception on first down in that Saints game up 2 scores that changed the momentum of the game.

In a round about way…yes.  If someone goes down inside the 10…run a couple screens or inside zones till you get inside the 3-4 yard line and it’s tush push time. L Their RZ playbook was absolutely atrocious, there was zero creativity.

I agree. Their whole playbook on both sides lacked creativity and identity. We were heavily running WR screens and inside zones well away from the RZ. Not sure that was the idea there. I think that’s just what they installed and wanted to work. Every. Single. Week. Lmao

I said during that playoff run he wasn’t close to the level he was previous playoffs. He had moments of greatness and flashes. But even in the Bears game he had issues. Granted the Bears defense was really good.

Absolutely. We hit lightning in a bottle.

I don’t think they play every set of downs as 1st and 9. I think that’s just what he said, throwing the ball outside of the numbers to the line if scrimmage or 20 yards downfield doesn’t really indicate 1st and 9 mindset lol. This coaching job was an all time collapse. I’m very eager to hear from guys who leave in FA or retirees who get on podcasts and get asked about it.

So what about a Taylor Swift Super Bowl thread? Does that go here or do I need to post a thread in the ATNFL?
