29 TDs in 11 games, with a 10-1 team beats Miami, Dallas, @ KC, and Buffalo. Yeah no way that’s an MVP caliber player.

Yea that whopping 150 yards and 1 passing TD in KC a real master class performance.  MVP type quality right there. Sneaking behind the best center in football doesn't make someone an MVP.

This season isn't the season to use to question the talent of anyone on this roster.  With the bonehead coaching we had, we were way past lucky to be 10-1.

I didn't say he wasn't talent, I said he performed like an average QB. Which he did

Ocho isn’t going to be a coaching staff member. Just some arbitrary title in the organization.

Doesn’t matter when the other coaches still suck

How is this heartbreaking? Guy smoked weed and played football. It's more heartbreaking for Josh Gordon.

Yeah I don’t get it. I have a lot of pain and smoke (not to cure pain, doesn’t help IMO) and get paid 10s of millions less than him.

5 TDs versus Buffalo

3 versus Miami and Dallas each . Nice effort of cherry picking 🙂

Imagine complaining about beating the KC Chiefs in Arrowhead… who are now going to the SB once again lmao. Man y’all must be miserable.

Eagles meet with Houston OT Patrick Paul at the senior bowl.  Sounds like they are scouting catholic priests now.

Didnt they change the format so all teams meet with all the players now?

He played well for 7 games, that's your MVP? Play well for half a season? 10 TDs off a glorified QB sneak?

The initial post is that he was an MVP candidate until week 12… which is true. Just because you don’t like how he played or don’t count his rushing TDs doesn’t mean they didn’t happen lol. He was the QB of the team with the best record in the NFL. That tends to lean for MVP talks to happen. Idc how we score TDs, I’ll never complain that we’re getting in the endzone. Some fans are different though, they need their TDs to be a certain way to count I guess?

You can't assess Hurts play from the QB position and not factor in the element he adds as a rusher, and effectiveness at converting short yardage 3rd and 4th downs. Same as Lamar or Allen (and to a lesser extent Mahomes) - they all bring something to the table that passing stats simply don't capture.

To me he was nowhere top 5 and definitely was in the top 15.

Was he top 10? Very debatable, and if he is on that list, he is certainly near the bottom based on last year's play. If you have him just outside the top 10, that is fine too. ~8 - 13 is probably the reasonable range.

I'd be very comfortable saying the following QBs had better seasons this year.  Not saying they're better players or better careers so far, but definitely better this season:

Tua, Goff, Dak, Allen, Mahomes, Purdy, Lamar, Stroud, Love  (that's 9)

Then, there's a few that were better in the segment of games they were available:

Cousins, Burrow, Murray  (3 more)

So, for me, 13 is about as high as I would go impartially -- in a vacuum.  If folks want to argue against Love or Stroud, that's fine.  If we're talking about where to rate his season, though, shouldn't we be grading Hurts relative to the offensive talent he had to work with, compared to most of these other QBs?  That's why I feel he had a very average season.

I agree.

I think Hurts was hamstrings by whatever Offensive system they were running. There’sa reason Siriani had to give up playcalling, and didn’t take over for Johnson. I couldn’t image where this team would’ve been if not for Hurts tbh.

If you watched those games and thought he looked like an mvp your standards are horrendously low

It’s not an opinion. I’m starting to think your brain is dead. Literally betting odds had him as #1 Odds to win MVP. That has nothing to do with me you goofball.

The stage is set for JJ to be an Eagle in 2025. AJ Brown is either getting extended or traded after the season. My guess, Eagles trade him, use the cap space to sign JJ to a massive deal. You heard it here first🤣

This year's SB is kind of like the 2020 election, oh and the upcoming 2024 election.

My point is the mvp race was a joke for including him and them you started going off about how great he was playing

This should be an amazing SuperBowl with the two most quality teams representing each conference.

Let me help end this debate. QB1 is mediocre
