They'll extend AJ next season

It’s going to be crazy to see paying $40-50+m a season for 2 WRs

Still don't get why so many of you weirdos hate Hurts so damn much. It's very bizarre but what's an Eagles season without arguing over QB1. I just love traditions

It's a passing league. TB did it, Mami will do so. Cincy will most likely do the same this offseason. Smith will be a cheaper then Brown. Cap goes up

250 mil for mediocrity

I don't give them that much credit. They literally thought they could score on those ass plays. They weren't intentionally trying to play to get to the 1 or 2. These are the same coaches who thought it was cool to go big play hunting in short yardage outside of shove range.

Play design was small percentage to hit in the real world.  They lived in a fantasy world lol.  They called plays based off 2 things…sheer stupidity and knowing what they held in their back pocket.  I guess I  should have worded my original response better…so you can’t misconstrue what i meant lol.  They didn’t scheme to get to that point…kind of…they schemed something, and it didn’t work and they held a pocket ace.

I don't think the hatred started when he signed that deal but it is a convenient way to justify it.

We dont hate him. Its that your like of him cant tolerate people pointing out that he was not very good at his job this season.

you guys really need to move beyond this juvenile assessment of "hate”

Yes, pure hate to not praise the dude for not playing like a 250mil QB. He played like a middle of the road QB this season, it is what it is. It's crazy how many people think any criticism is hate, regardless of how valid it is. Some people expect more from a dude who just got a massive payday, to regress back to bailing from clean pockets and playing stupid situational football is not the expectation.

No, they pointed out that he has to play better than he did this year numerous times.

It’s not an opinion. I’m starting to think your brain is dead. Literally betting odds had him as #1 Odds to win MVP. That has nothing to do with me you goofball.

You do understand how betting works correct?

How is calling him mediocre hating on him?

What's QB1 going to do if they ban the tush push? He's going to have to learn to throw inside the 5 yard line. Instead he'll roll out of a clean pocket and try running it in

I agree.

I think Hurts was hamstrings by whatever Offensive system they were running. There’sa reason Siriani had to give up playcalling, and didn’t take over for Johnson. I couldn’t image where this team would’ve been if not for Hurts tbh

Reality is somewhere in the middle…was play calling atrocious for a lot of the season?  Yes.  Did Hurts have a couple games where he shouldered the team or played great, yes.  But he also left so much on the field being skittish, bailing from clean pockets, dropping his eyes and throwing prayers.  One thing consistent about Hurts entire career is he favors the easy and safe throws.  This year he was the complete opposite, every single bit of criticism the coaches got he deserves as well.

His mechanics sucked all year also. Throwing off his back foot a lot as well

Eagles LB coach is not the most appealing job.  This guy has coached Zach Cunningham in both Houston & Ten fwiw

I'll be so mad if Howie brings Cunningham back

That's not the comment I was referring to. I wasn't even referring to a comment more the entire conversation. I think everyone agrees Hurts has to be better than he was this year. There just seems to be a very different tone used by those who have never been a fan of Hurts and clearly don't believe in him vs those who saw what he's capable of last year. I guess maybe it is just that, a lack of belief for some

Considering this was announced not too long after Campanile and Caldwell, the Eagles were likely hoping for either of them and pivoted.

It's also possible if Fangio is going to be hiring two LB coaches(inside and outside) and other teams only do one, any LB coach hired here would have less influence than those other teams, and make them even less attractive.

They are probably going to retain Washburn who is OLB/DE

Ver FA signing, Dean, Cunningham going into the draft isn't a bad group to have and provides some injury cover. You hope they add a young guy on Day 2 to round it off but having four guys competing rather than being handed jobs like last year would be the way to go.

Or Fangio is waiting on Staley once the DC jobs run out.

Given how quickly Bobby King got announced post Caldwell joining Raiders, sure sounds like he was target #1
