I don't know enough to be definitive.  We smoked Patricia in the SB, he failed as a HC, and our star CB who Howie signed to big $$ couldn't stand him.  Why would Howie dictate he joins the team as a consultant?  Furthermore,  Siri comes off a great regular season, turning Hurts into an MVP candidate, a SB loss that everybody blamed on the DC.  Siri was at his power peak last off season.  Last off season no way Siri was just a yes man, he was The Man.

Nah... Howie is The Man. He's the boss after all. This is his show. Siri has as much power as Dougy did. Not much.

What are you arguing?  That Sirianni lacks an offensive scheme to compete, or that he's terrible in the locker room and the players don't trust him?

That if this skid has lost him the players’ confidence with the inability to adapt, motivate, and right the ship that it’s possible for a new head coach to "fix” their mindsets and attitudes towards next season.

Eagles need to get younger and more talented , currently second oldest team

Sure, but that's the case of every team. Everyone wants good, young players on rookie deals.

Yes. The right coach will, without question.  That’s exactly what good head coaches do.

Is a "good head coach" taking this job eyes wide shut to what is going on?  He could be good enough to steer the team to a Super Bowl, then get fired a year later?  Is that what a "good head coach" is signing up for?

I'll say it again because it bears repeating.  Apparently we went 26-5 because the players are just so damn talented -- all because of the players.  Then we went 1-6 because the coaches are so damn bad -- all because of the coaches.

If the players want Sirianni gone, Sirianni will be gone.  I just don't see how folks on here think some new whiz-kid OC is going to magically fix the underlying causes if that happens.

His posts usually read like AI wrote them.

Maybe get some interesting soundbites from players.  Probably not.

I just googled it and found this tweet

So,  you have to go back 2 - 2.5 years in order to find an opinion by the media.

This isn't an interview with Lurie where he says "I have very specific ideas about how the offense should be run - lots and lots of passing - and I'm going to aggressively meddle until I'm happy."     Lurie isn't George Steinbrenner or Jerry Jones.   I'm not seeing anything like the classic meddling, micromanaging owner.

A new coach who knows how to design plays will fix a lot of issues right off the bat.

Also, the coaches job is to get the team to buy in and maximize the talent of the players.  The story of this season isn’t about a lack of talent.  Of course there were holes, specifically on defense but there’s no excuse for the offense.  The fact that he lost the offense too screams for a top to bottom coaching change, nevermind the ridiculous play calling, scheme, lack of adjustments and overall game management.

Amazing we got to 10-1 without any plays.

I think it was the first or second result. I didn't do a deep dive lol

Hoping for a media blackout until they finalize the Sirianni decision.

Don’t conflate last season with this season.  Apples & Oranges.

Last season, the entire offense (including play calling) was on point the vast majority of the season.

This season, the complete opposite has transpired - even the games they won they looked sloppy - and yes, many of those games were won on the talent of the offense.

Scheming and play calling has been very questionable, even in the games they won this season.   Go back and read the game day logs in the games we won.  In most of them we were losing our minds about some of the game planning and play calling - it’s been going on all year and when other teams finally figured out our offensive strategies, we collapsed.  We failed to counter and/or adjust, then started to get blown out and with that, Sirianni lost the team.  Thats what happened and there’s no sugar coating it.

We also have a ton of youth. We have Slay, Bradbury, Cox, Graham, Kelce, Johnson, Byard  and Julio Jones contributing to the "old” average. It’s very possible that only 1 of them is on the roster next season.

That’s really not a ton of old players. We’ve already drafted 3 DTs (Carter, Davis, Williams) have 3 young CBs (Ricks, Ringo, Rodgers), young 2 safeties (Brown and Blankenship) , 2 young stud WRs (AJ and Smitty, and drafted a C (Jergens). We have Sweat, Nolan Smith, and Reddick under 30 for edge rushers.

I’d argue we’ve done a phenomenal job with the balance of grizzly vets and developing youth.

See, this is what happens when you don't understand the history and/or the dynamics of a team.  Kelly Stafford is Matt Stafford's wife.  Matt Stafford was drafted and spent the first 10? years with the Lions.  Them booing his wife is anything but classy - and no, it has little to do with "attacking" the other team, sorry.

Stafford was a Lion,  and then he was NOT a Lion.   Booing his wife after he became a Ram is not booing a Lion or a Lion wife.

There still is that problem that Eagles fans have with distinguishing between team and not team.

Not if they are smart.  10-1 to losing the next 6 out of 7 and first round exit?  That is called accountability.  No games were even close loses or games that showed the team was starting to get better.  They got worse!

The Seattle game was close... but it showed that they were horrible.  Lost to Jake Lock.  Allowed Lock to lead a 92 yard drive to beat them, and it wasn't even hard.   AND... the offense did NOTHING in that game.   The defense (as bad as they were) did enough to allow an average offense to win that game (21 ppg is the median for the league).    And if the Eagles O produced their average points per game in that game, they'd have won a little more comfortably.

And then what? lol. That 10-1 is the most overrated stat of the entire season.

Failure to adjust all year is mind blowing. Pretty clear that Hurts Fd up his knee or something and they had to change how they do things a bit. But man seems like they went to the pop warner offense.

Dude, don't even start that ignorant crap after the last few weeks. The play design is currently being ripped by pretty much everyone nationally but keep acting like a schmuck.

True.  I am still not a huge fan of Howie.  But it’s his purgatory that got us here.
