It's a semantic argument about "dying".  There is only one death; no one dies more than once, hence Hamlin did not die.  He suffered what some refer to as "clinical death" when his heart stopped -- but that is not dying.

Similar to when people say "multiverse" to me.  There is no multiverse.  "Uni", meaning one.  It's all contained in the universe -- it's just a larger universe than you thought it was.

Random thought: if Justin Fields was actually worth a 1st rounder in trade, the Bears wouldn’t be trading him.

Hes going to LV for a couple of 3’s

That's not true.  That Bears roster still needs a lot of help and isn't really close.  Them getting a first for Fields who is about to need a new contract makes sense for the Bears to trade since they can get a more highly regarded QB prospect that will be at just the start of his rookie deal.  Meanwhile a team like Atlanta or Pittsburgh has some good pieces in place but just no QB at all it would be worthwhile for them to trade a first for Fields.

Agreed.  His performance thus far dictates his market as being a bridge starter for a team not in draft position to go after one of the top 3-4 draft eligible QBs.  He’ll go somewhere as a bridge or compete for a starting job on a middling team.  The market price for that IMO is a 3rd round pick.

Also agreed the Bears will trade him.

That's all that came to mind watching that Mailata clip. Probably a bad green screen, but it looked more like a bad deep fake.

It was likely a zoom call, it looks like garbage if you use a background

You're way over your head. You have no idea what you're talking about.

It's obvious you're ignorant of economics, political science and history.

And I'm sure you can't identify the 19th century leader who invented the social welfare system. A real socialist type.

Kelce shouldn't come back, he's got his ring, his money, 3 daughters, and he's pretty much a lock for the HOF.

At some point you have to think about the rest of your life, like being able to walk down the aisle with your daughters when they get married in a couple decades, instead of having use a walker. Or having your brains scrambled.

Wont blame Kelce if he retires, but i hope he wants to give it another go. Last season’s abortion is no way to go out

I would never tell somebody they have  to retire. Even like when Jason peters is doing what he’s doing. I wouldn’t sign him personally. But more power to him if he can keep getting paid and wants to play. You only get a finite amount of time to play this game. I agree with afan he has every reason to not keep Playing. Frankly it’s the choice I’d make to retire. But if he still wants to and loves the game then more power to him. I’d love to see him play again.

Kelce has earned the right to do what he wants, so I won’t have a strong opinion one way or the other. He does seem like a guy kinda going through a semi midlife crisis though. I’m not sure he’ll ever be at peace regardless of his decision, until someone or something else makes it for him.

Look, it's OK to admit that Kelce likes the spotlight.  And that spotlight is burning BRIGHT right now.  I know he has a big personality, a tremendously successful podcast, and should be marketable after football and all that...but the reality is that his spotlight and earning potential dim drastically the second a football season starts and he's not part of it.  He and his agent know that.  He may have had a 13 year NFL career, but he's been a celebrity for about 2 of those years.  And retirement means passing up a 3rd.

Don't think he gives a crap about earning potential. Watch the documentary about him, the house he lives in is nothing special, he's got land, but that's not a lot of money where he lives. They have nice cars but nothing outrageous. He's probably banked $20+M, and is making a lot of money on endorsements. Given his personality (and his brother) he'll be marketable for the rest of his life without playing football.

I think Kelce genuinely isn't sure what he plans to do yet. Some guys know right away when they should retire and are at peace with the decision. Some lie to themselves and mentally struggle adapting to a life after football. Other just aren't sure and don't want to rush into a decision either way, and need time to think it through. We can all speculate as fans, but it's hard to really say what's going on behind closed doors or in his head. Dude can still play a very high level though, there's no doubt about that.

Was hopeful he would stay with the organization in someway as either a coach or front office or player but can't blame him for taking that national NFL TV money.  I hope it's as a commentator role during games if anything.
