Stafford was a Lion,  and then he was NOT a Lion.   Booing his wife after he became a Ram is not booing a Lion or a Lion wife.

There still is that problem that Eagles fans have with distinguishing between team and not team.

Philly fans are a "tough love” fanbase.  They cheer as hard as any fanbase on the planet (even harder if you ask the Phillies) but will let you know it when you make mistakes and don’t find a way to correct them (aka tough love).

And don’t get it twisted, they don’t boo every bad play or performance - it takes repeated mistakes/slumps/regression/losses for them to eventually boo.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

If Sirianni was responsible for throwing Desai under the bus in a panic after a couple of shellackings then he has to go because that's where he lost the players and one thing Lurie hates above anything is trying to deflect responsibility. If Lowie reached down and told Sirianni changes needed to be made, then he's Teflon in terms of job security because he can say that decision derailed the season.

To be clear, I think Desai coaching his own defense with Leonard available at linebacker and Roby / Maddox available at slot would have got enough stops to beat Arizona and New York and got us 2 seed. I do not think we ever had a prayer of beating the 49ers in a play off game, the 49ers took the whooping last year as impetus to improve their roster and they probably bought a ticket to the big dance at the price of a couple of years of Rams style cap hell, while we went the other way and shed talent and hoped the offense was good enough to win games without a stellar defense.

If Sirianni stays he has to be told to develop the offense in conjunction with the OC and actually listen to new ideas, because if they go into next season with this offense, we'll be facing a hell of 90% blitzes and a stuttering mess all year.

Failure to adjust all year is mind blowing. Pretty clear that Hurts Fd up his knee or something and they had to change how they do things a bit. But man seems like they went to the pop warner offense.

If his knee is bad and the forced him into harder longer throws instead of quick ones and crosses that’s wild

Dude, don't even start that ignorant crap after the last few weeks. The play design is currently being ripped by pretty much everyone nationally but keep acting like a schmuck.

For a diehardfan, you sure always look for the first off ramp to desert the team.

Eagles fans will sit outside NovaCare with a sign that says "Run the Ball" because they care and want to get the message across.

that's one thing.   and a different thing is to chant the same thing when the Eagles are on offense,  which is what Eagles "fans" did.

I'm just saying the Eagles fans are the worst in the NFL,  and Eagles fans provide a home field disadvantage for the Eagles.

I'm not saying that no other teams fans do what Eagles fans do.

Usually you see booing when the team is out of playoff consideration,   by normal fans of normal teams.

Hater of the 5-2 alignment the moment I saw it.  Both the run D and pass rush suffered after it was implemented.

I am not a hater.  Eagles run a varied front.   Problem is that it is stale.  No real disguises with Patricia, in fact, I think the defense was worse.  But the soft practices showed too.  The latter has to change. For his defense to work, Desai needed Ss and LBs and Howie gave him neither.  That’s a disconnect between Howie and the coaches and that is on Howie.

Sure, but that's the case of every team. Everyone wants good, young players on rookie deals.

The QB RPO runs went away in favor of the QB draws and powers even when he was gimpy. I'm still waiting for that off season surgery announcement.

The only thing that concerns me is the Eagles know getting a late start last time hurt them in the coaching search. You'd think if they were to fire Sirianni they'd learn from last time and do it ASAP. If nothing breaks on this front today, I think the chances plummet.

Texans, Lions, and Ravens are still in the playoffs and haven't seen Vrabel get interviewed anywhere.

Same. I'm expecting "clean out" surgery.

Awful. It’s like we chose to do everything in the complete opposite idea of formal common sense this season.

Has anyone been fired yet?

@Random Reglar I don't mean this rudely, but are you new to following the team? Lurie has talked for years in interviews and press conferences about wanting explosive offense and great QB play.

New to following the team?  Yes,  definitely new to closely following the team,  started with Jalen.

However,  an opinion by the media is what was offered as "proof"  and that ain't it.

Apparently,  this proof that Lurie wants certain things and likes to meddle is not very easy to find.   I'm not saying it's not there,  but no one has pushed that forward.

Everyone knows that Lurie cares more than anything else about getting those versatile freakbeasts on the field playing multiple positions.

Proof?   Everyone knows this.  They've always known it.  It's well known by everyone.  I can't actually show you this proof,  but I can be twice as loud as saying that everyone knows this.

See what I'm doing there?

This can’t be an easy decision for Lurie. The fans want blood, but potential coaches would see some serious warts with this job.

Fans are fickle.  If Lurie is sure of himself and wants to keep Siri it doesn't matter what the fans want right now.  A few wins everyone buys right back in.

I can't find anything about a contract with Patricia. I wonder if it was a 1 year deal that ended once we were eliminated

You don't know what you're talking about.  Players say it's a great homefield advantage.  One series this year, the Eagles chanted run the ball.  Hurts made a half-joke that usually the fans are loud when the other team is on offense. So you're taking that tiny moment in the entire franchise history to say it's a home field disadvantage?  You're a clown.

And the fans should chant run the ball when the dumb head coach refuses to.

Yup. Before the season people gave me crap on here when I said their linebackers aren’t good enough and lacked depth and their safety position was going to be a problem. Blankenship hadn’t proved he could start for 17 games plus postseason, brown was a rookie and likely not ready for a big role, Evans was injury prone his entire career and edmunds is a JAG. They got byard who’s past his prime and declining. Vrabel and the titans couldn’t get him playing well this year either. You could see the eagles having major problems back in training camp at those two positions. And ultimately it happened and showed. I don’t think desai is good but these 2 particular positions were set up to fail. They got what they paid for.

The proof is hearing from Lurie himself.  As I said, he's said many times he wants explosive offense and great QB play.  If you just joined because of Hurts, you aren't a Philadelphia fan and don't know the history and don't know what you're talking about.

Nah... Howie is The Man. He's the boss after all. This is his show. Siri has as much power as Dougy did. Not much.

Could be true but, there was an intense love fest for Siri after last season.  He had pull.

So we have another thing to blame Hurts for now...

Nobody is jumping ship. But going after me personally doesn't change the fact you don't have a leg to stand on defending them or mocking a new coach who actually knows offense could change things drastically.

A few wins?  The Eagles had 10 wins and only 1 loss and fans wanted both coordinators fired and major changes.  It's a weird situation because it was the way they were playing despite winning that people complained about. The ugly wins became ugly losses then blowout losses and a historic awful collapse.  There were very simple things Siri and coaches could have done that everyone in the fanbase and in the media called out constantly and they didn't do it, and they lost 6 of their last 7.  A few wins alone aren't going to change people's minds.  They need to change scheme and play design, play calling and game decisions, fundamentals, reduce mental mistakes and turnovers, etc. etc.
