  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

My decision has been made good sir. I will not flinch.

This in and of itself is relatively harmless, but I do find it funny their last two franchise QBs who they loved enough to pay big contracts to, at the first sign of trouble they start taking issue with their leadership. Not ideal. Reeks of micromanaging.

Has nothing to do with micromanaging.  It’s what I’ve been saying for weeks; it’s time for the new nucleus of this Eagles team to put their big boy pants on and do some leading.  Cox, Kelce, Graham, etc. are no longer the voices in the locker room and on the field that the rank and file guys will be taking their lead from.  It’s Hurts, AJ Brown, Smith, Mailata, etc.

Sitting alone on an island on the sidelines talking to no one isn’t going to be the program any longer.

He needs to lift every voice and sing

Yup. I brought this up months ago. There’s a major leadership void that needs to be filled. And it’s going to be a tricky situation next year. Assuming Kelce and Cox aren’t back, it’s going to diminish the Graham and Johnson voices.

He’s totally on his retirement tour.  Good for him.

Did Andy and the Chiefs contract him out for this game?  Big Dom gets his revenge on the 49ers. What if Bog Dom gets into it again with the same 49ers player during the game and he gets ejected again?

Damn it, did I miss the Puppy Bowl?

I hate the way we choked away this season.

There's no textbook way to lead. And we have no idea what Jalen is or isn't doing on the sidelines all we see are what the TV cameras show us. These are second snippets. His teammates seem to love him and vouch for him. Last season they couldn't say enough good things about his leadership. This season suddenly when things go bad, now the critics come out.

Yep. Had to just literally explain this to somebody on Twitter. Who tried to make it like we’re just gonna clear a bunch of cap space doing it so a day 2 pick is fine value. I was like no we aren’t. We’re gonna get like 1.2 million. Which isn’t enough to replace the production that you’re going to lose next year in a SB window. So is the day 2 pick and 1.2 million in cap space worth what Reddick brings you on the field next year? Probably not. I’m hoping we’d get a second round pick. I’m not sure they get that. I actually think it’s probably more than likely they get a third round because he needs a new contract, and the Eagles are stuck between a rock and a hard place as they don’t wanna give it to him a new deal due to needing help elsewhere, he’s gonna hold out and he’s gone in a year all working against them.

Yep only $1.2m this year but a trade would clear almost ~$15m from next year's cap (expected dead cap if Reddick was to play out the year and leave). Need to look at cap strategy as a multi-year thing, especially with how easy it is to shift money from current year into next.

Lurie is there

I hate that I'm rooting for the Chiefs here but I really don't want the Niners to win anything. Eff them.

But why would Dom be on the sidelines if Lurie is in attendance?  I doubt Lurie is choosing pre game warm-ups as the time to go rub elbows with Andy.

Is it possible that last year it was because everything was going well and he didn't really need to do that much, versus this year when things started falling apart and he stayed quiet and to himself when they needed an outgoing leader? They're two completely different situations.

If we are going to use next years cap then can trade sweat and get 21 mil of cap space next year and his knee might be a ticking timebomb. So you gain 17.2 mil from reddick deal over two years. With trading sweat it’s 16.2 mil. Difference is i get hit harder in 2024 then more relief 2025. Frankly i know sweat is younger but i think he declined faster than reddick and i dont really think hes going to be worth the money they pay him. He really isnt a game changer. He’s a good pass rusher that likely gets overpaid.

I think when things get bad people like to point fingers and/or look for reasons to explain why they were inept to make it make sense in their mind. I want Jalen to be himself. If he's not the motivational speech guy, then trying to be one would come off as phony. And honestly, I don't think this stuff affects games much. They didn't lose because Hurts didn't go out to eat and bond with his teammates. They lost because the coaching sucked, the players didn't execute, and the talent wasn't good enough. This is just people trying to assign blame other than themselves.
