It really is mind blowing.  How can anyone say that’s not 90% on coaching/play calling???

Ok I love the Barkley deal

We were the crappiest 10-1 team in NFL history but its still totally inexcusable to lose the next 6 out of 7 and get bounced in the first round.

A few wins?  The Eagles had 10 wins and only 1 loss and fans wanted both coordinators fired and major changes.  It's a weird situation because it was the way they were playing despite winning that people complained about. The ugly wins became ugly losses then blowout losses and a historic awful collapse.  There were very simple things Siri and coaches could have done that everyone in the fanbase and in the media called out constantly and they didn't do it, and they lost 6 of their last 7.  A few wins alone aren't going to change people's minds.  They need to change scheme and play design, play calling and game decisions, fundamentals, reduce mental mistakes and turnovers, etc. etc.

Your last sentence goes without saying. And that being the case, with those things done, a few wins will have people buying back in.

Can anyone think of any examples off the top of their head of an NFL team that was widely criticized for being horrendously coached that didn't fire their coach and it ended up working out well?

2nd in call rate and 26th in bust rate. Literally anyone with two eyes could see it but apparently our coaches couldn't. I don't care what it supposedly "opened up." It wasn't worth the 5 prior negative plays.

psst.... It's very likely he's not an eagles fan

I'm a fan of the teams that I pay attention to and root for.   And that's the Eagles and the Ravens, now.    True fans tend to stay with teams for a very long time,  even when they hate the team, primarily because of geography.  I'm not a true long term fan.  I pay attention to the teams that have what I want.   And the Eagles have running QB,  which is key,  and on top of that,  Howie has brought in a lot of those versatile freakbeasts that I talk about a lot.  The coaches don't seem to want to pay attention to the versatility,  but at least Howie is bringing those players in.  It's enough.

Failure to adjust all year is mind blowing. Pretty clear that Hurts Fd up his knee or something and they had to change how they do things a bit. But man seems like they went to the pop warner offense.

And this is why it’s important to have a qb who is a passer and not a battering ram.

Could you go be a fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders or the Memphis Showboats instead? We don't want you.

The absolute worst screen designated too.  None setting the defense up, letting rushers through and then throwing the screen out with the blockers in front of him.  All these quick instant bubble screens to the side that every defense instantly knew was coming.  Zero creativity.

I've been here long enough.

Not a true,  bleeding eagles green, fan.

So, yeah,  when Eagles fans are oblivious to they fact that they're acting awful, I have a lot of other fan bases to compare to.

McDermott has received a lot of heat in the past year or two but has the Bills in good position right now.

Would you consider a QB with a perfect (158) passer rating on 10-20 yard throws to the middle of the field for an ENTIRE SEASON a passer?

You are a versatile freakbeast of a fan.

With smitty or Quez as a lead blocker Mind you.

Of this year's playoff team Head Coaches, previously not a Head Coach. 4 defensive background, 6 offensive background

  1. Ravens Harbaugh: DBs Position coach
  2. Bills McDermott: Defensive Coordinator
  3. Texans Ryans: Defensive Coordinator
  4. Steelers Tomlin: Defensive Coordinator
  5. 49ers Shanahan: Offensive Coordinator
  6. Dolphins McDaniel: Offensive Coordinator
  7. Browns Stefanski: Offensive Coordinator
  8. Lions Campbell: Asst HC & TE Position Coach
  9. Rams McVay: Offensive Coordinator
  10. Packers LaFleur: Offensive Coordinator

Previously a Head Coach: 2 offensive background, 1 defensive background

  1. Chiefs Reid: Head Coach
  2. Cowboys McCarthy: Head Coach
  3. Bucs Bowles: Head Coach

You have a better shot hiring a coach who has never been a head coach.  While most people want a coach with offensive background, a defensive background can work as well with a good OC.  It can work to hire a former head coach, but no HC has ever won a SB with 2 teams so you'd be hoping to break NFL history.

To be fair I bet he only had 5-10 attempts all season in this range based on the playcalling.

Could be true but, there was an intense love fest for Siri after last season.  He had pull.

Not that kind of pull. We're talking Howie here.

Greg Roman and Pete Carmichael are both likely to be available two months from now.  Both have extensive OC experience.

OC - Greg Roman
DC - Wink Martindale.

Would you consider 2023 a good passing season from Hurts?

The last sentence doesn't go without saying because we've been saying it all season and he hasn't changed anything.  If Siri starts the season 3-0 next year playing the same way with ugly wins with no changes, people will not be buying back in.  The team was 10-1 and people were calling for firings.

Waiting for the "Siriani expected to be back next season”

And the subsequent "Jason Kelce calls it quits.”
