Honestly, as much as we make fun of him, I think Kirk Cousins on the niners would make them ridiculous. He wouldn't have to try so hard and he's much more talented than Purdy. They probably can't afford him since they have so many people up for extensions after next season. He isn't taking a one year deal

I doubt they do it due to money and purdy got them to a Super Bowl. Add on 2025 they have a bunch of really good players who are FAs

Losing the SB drop-off coming to the 49ers in a few months. It's beautiful.

I’m dead

What are the odds they go out and try to sign kirk cousins? I don’t think it’s very high, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out.

I think they wrongly believe in Purdy too much so I can’t see it happening.

This was the 49ers best shot at winning it all. They’ll have a chance next year sure, but that Super Bowl loss hangover is REAL. Hell we saw it from our team this year.

49ers biggest issue is that OL is booty & the guy I feel is the real MVP of that roster, Trent Williams, will be 36 entering next season. If 49ers don’t win it next year, I don’t see when they will because Trent will surely be retired by then, CMC would be entering his 9th season when that RB drop off in play starts to get really bad, Purdy will be eligible for the big payday, Aiyuk will be ready for a payday, Huafanga will be ready for a payday, Deebo will be almost 30, & Kittle will be over 31 entering that season.

So they missed last year, this year, and if they miss next year you’re gonna have a hard time convincing me they’ll be back unless they draft well

Deebo has spent all morning trending on X, and 90% of it is not offering him condolences. He's getting ridden hard - talking ish and not showing out will do that. Greenlaw had tendonitis in his Achilles, like Rodgers I believe, so that is likely why it went pop.

Reading the Whiners lose like that was epic.  Just epic. Zero sympathy for them; sore finger pointing losers. Complained all off season, complained before game, acted like asses after and since.  F the Whiners, enjoy the off season finding excuses blaming others for why you lost

I deleted Reddit like 3 weeks ago & downloaded it again tonight just to laugh at 49ers fans

as someone who's had achilles  tendonitis for the past 6 months i do feel a bit sorry for greenlaw.

But he's **** so not really.

Ive read many comments in here about feeling sorry for 49ers….no idea how any Eagles fan can say that.

This is real

They like Purdy because he is cheap and semi-effective and allows them to load up around him.  He will be gone before they ever pay him big money and get stuck with a mediocre QB with a big salary (like we are).

The only thing I agree with Cowboys fans on right now. F the 49ers. LOL

I like the one guy in there calling him Kyle Failahan 😄😄

I think Kyle Shamahan is more poetic.

Onto business.

All this team needs to win next season is...

Mahomes

Taylor Swift

Kelce to not retire

A new starting corner

A new slot corner

A new safety

Three new linebackers

Two defensive ends (one if Reddick stays)

A right guard (depending on Kelce)

Easy peasy.

There are some people in there crying about penalties that weren't called like they didn't benefit at all

They called the worst intentional grounding call I think I've ever seen against Mahomes to back them up to the 10.    Yes, he was clearly throwing the ball away, but there was a receiver working back to him and was definitely 'in the area' by the NFL's definition.

The officiating was bad... it was pretty bad both ways, but the Chiefs got some really bad spots and that IG call.    The 49ers have no grounds to cry.    Also... in the key moment, Shanahan didn't know the right decision was actually to KICK the ball away in OT and then you know what you have to do.  Granted, if its still tied after 2 possessions the team getting the ball first has the advantage.  BUT... that's why the team that wins the toss elects to kick with the idea that a FG wins if they get a stop, a TD wins if they give up a FG, a TD and 2 point wins if they give up a TD (as I don't think any team would go for 2 on the opening possession of OT).   Shanahan played that 100% wrong in OT, which matches pretty much how he did during the rest of the game.   The 3rd quarter was a disaster for the 49ers.

I don't think that part matters.  Remember, Trent Dilfer 'got the Ravens' to a Super Bowl WIN, but was shown the door immediately that offseason.   Also, Jimmy G "took them" to a Super Bowl too.  But, they had no issue drafting Trey Lance very high with a trade up.

But, Shanahan knows how much is Purdy and how much is scheme and how much is CMC, Samuel, Aiyuk and Kittle (even a little Jauan Jennings mixed in).  What Shanahan needs is a QB that can distribute the ball to them and not make mistakes.   That's pretty much what Purdy is.   And he IS still very young and I think THAT is why they won't go after Cousins.  I think they hang with Purdy, double down on his growth in the offseason and suffer a terrible fate as the Super Bowl loser hangover takes over their 2024.   Then they give Purdy an extension, a few good players are allowed to leave due to the cap... and their downfall starts in 2026 in earnest.  Shanahan is likely canned sometime in 2027.

So inspiring.

He's as dirty as they come in the NFL, and should have had a few suspensions leveled his way over the years.   Now he'll have an injury enforced suspension to start 2024.

I don't feel bad at all for Greenlaw.

Wouldn't actively want someone to get hurt, but, he's a DBag

I had an epiphany. All of that hard practicing that the 9ers did yielded the same Super Bowl results. L.
