So looking at our upcoming free agents...who would you even want to keep?:

LB Shaun Bradley - nah

DT Fletcher Cox - if cheap

LB Zach Cunningham - nah

G Jack Driscoll - nah

S Justin Evans - hell nah

DE Brandon Graham - vet minimum for the farewell maybe

WR Julio Jones - nah

C Jason Kelce - please, please, please come back

LB Shaquille Leonard - hell nah

P Braden Mann - yes

QB Marcus Mariota - nah

LB Nicholas Morrow - GTFO

TE Albert Okwuegbunam - who?

G Iosua Opeta - yes

RB Rashaad Penny - who?

RB Boston Scott - nah

RB D'Andre Swift - nah, he'll want too much and we can get younger and cheaper in the draft

WR Quez Watkins - F nah

WR Olamide Zaccheaus - as a 4th guy for cheap, ok

There's gonna be a lot of roster turnover this year.

Agreed totally.  Kelce and Mann.  One of Cox and Graham, I guess.

If they re-sign Boston Scott on the first day of free agency again, I'm going to have a good cry.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I think he didn’t want to give away that type of assets for siakam who said he wants to be a FA and see what’s out there at the end of the season. So Indy basically got a rental as he’s likely going to leave. Sixers can’t afford to give up 3 firsts for him to just bounce

Yep, same with OG. Both want max or close to max deals and aren't worth that.

What do you guys think of Eric Bienemy?  Andy Reid tree.  Could work with this much talent on offense, imo.

I think the shine has come off of Bienemy a little bit this year.  He did almost nothing to jumpstart the Commanders offense.  Check out these stats:

Bienemy's 2023 Commanders: 19.4 points per game, 6.6 yards per pass attempt, 4.4 yards per rush attempt

2022 Commanders: 18.9 points per game, 6.8 yards per pass attempt, 4.0 yards per rush attempt

I saw this posted somewhere, don't remember who or where, but I think it bears discussion...

Eagles have loaded up on Alabama and Georgia guys. Tough, physical guys who wanna win and have been coached hard for 3-4 years. They come to Philly and they have a mascot head coach and they barely practice. Easy to see how guys lost faith in him and the coaching staff.

The slight uptick in points and rush yards can be explained by playing us twice

Surprised Morey is sitting on the sidelines this long. Nurse has his team playing great and Harris is almost convincing of being a true #3 but I have my doubts come playoffs. Would love to add a 3 & D guy or another bigger name to compete with Milwaukee + Boston

I'm hoping we get Dejounte Murray or Tyus Jones. I'm with you in that I'm glad to see them playing as well as they have, but any games where Joel is out and we need better contingencies in offensive output, especially come playoffs.

Fire the MOFO already. BS it is taking this long.

Sidney Brown said as much after one of the losses.   Something along the lines of "practice shows itself on the field” - not an exact quote but basically what he meant.  And that’s a rookie saying it.

Like him.  Knows how to run a legit WCO.  Hear he is tough on his players.  That's what they might need.

Would prefer him over Vrable.  I don't know why people want him

You don't know what you're talking about.  Players say it's a great homefield advantage.  One series this year, the Eagles chanted run the ball.  Hurts made a half-joke that usually the fans are loud when the other team is on offense. So you're taking that tiny moment in the entire franchise history to say it's a home field disadvantage?  You're a clown.

And the fans should chant run the ball when the dumb head coach refuses to.

Correct.  Stop engaging saves everyone the headache.

I agree with your list, and there's not a single person that you have leaving that would be missed.  BG will keep coming back on cheap deals as a part-time player until he retires.  He's not a liability and when he steps up he makes plays.

Cox would be missed if he were for sure to leave.  I would understand not paying him big money to let him walk, but they better put that money into an upgrade at another position to make up for that.  I'm fine with the DTs next year being Carter, Davis, Williams, Ojomo but they must get 2 actual quality LBs.  Dean might be ok but can't rely on him.

I appreciate their perspective.  But they've also been through 4 coaching regimes.  Kelce has defended all of his coaches.  He defended Chip Kelly.  As much as we love him, he's always been a company man who won't say anything negative about the organization or coaches (and he shouldn't publicly, none of them should).

With what we've seen this year despite their frustrations, the players have blamed themselves and not the coaches and the coaches have blamed themselves.  They say the right things publicly.

Very curious if their closed door meetings with Lurie and Howie would have different thoughts about the coaches.

They’re not saying anything to the media before Lurie makes his decision.  Not to mention they’re not going to throw him under the bus and ruin his future chances of employment, etc.

Kelce released a new pod today and will listen to it to see if he thinks his podcast affected the team's performance.

When Lurie let Doug Pederson go one of his first statements during the press conference was something along the lines of, "Does Doug Pederson deserve to be fired? No, he doesn’t deserve to be fired, he’s a great head coach…..that said, we are going with the "right coach moving forward”

I’d expect something along those lines as well this go around.

It's trendy to crap on Eagles. If people were feeling this way then why didn't they speak up during the 10-1 record?

Because back then the offense was still highly effective. It clearly wasnt as consistent as it was last year. And things did seem to be more difficult. But it was still pretty consistently moving the ball, and red zone improved after the first few games as well.

It really got worse right around that 49ers game. Everything did. And nothing ever improved from there.
