Butterfly effect though.   Who knows how Andy plays that drive to tie the game if he's down 4 rather than 3?   That missed XP might be the only reason they got to OT and not have Andy beat them in regulation.  After all, they had a shot at the win as it was with 0:06 seconds left... and a timeout.  They had at least one more shot at the end zone, and maybe that's when Andy unveils his 'corndog' play or whatever other thing he might have had.

I feel bad for the kid, but this game wasn't on him.  It was on Shamahan.

Yea. It definitely changes a lot about the game and at that point in time gives an unpredictability to the rest of the game. Plus there were other things throughout like the ball glancing off someone's calf on a punt return that were bigger swings in the game. Just crazy how KC got so many breaks in their favor.

I will say this, if they trade Reddick, they better go the free agency route and get a guy like Burns. Or if someone is on the trade market, like if the Jags don't want to pay Josh Allen, trade for him after he's tagged. Going into the draft with their group of edge rushers, even if they were to sign a depth guy like Van Ginkel... it's a recipe for disaster.

And even this scenario isn't perfect, because every dollar they spend in FA on an edge is a dollar they can't spend on a back 7 player they so desperately need.

They had the worst defense in the NFL last year.  It truly can't get worse.  So I really can't fathom paying a 29 year old that was part of this defense last year.

Gross-Matos would be an interesting addition as a possible Reddick replacement.

I think he had 5 sacks in a limited role. Hes a guy who can break out.

Wouldnt mind drafting Chop Robinson if we are looking for a direct replacement of that role.

But if we are trading Reddick, I cant help but think its because we want a more traditional DE, or a more traditional LB. Because you wont get a better tweener 3-4 rush OLB than Reddick and it just doesnt make sense to trade him in that case.

Can he do the Gladiator thumbs down celebration ... sniff sniff.

Yeah, I think they’re gonna make a splash in the wide receiver market. They can get rid of MVS and save $12 million. I think they know they can win it without going and making improvements to the wide receiving corps. But I also think they know it was much harder for them to win it this year With what they had to go through in the regular season and the struggles they had on offense and better wide receivers might have avoided them having to go through the harder path to get where they got to. That’s why I think they make the move.

Xavier Legette is a perfect fit for the Chiefs offense, and I know @HazletonEagle will enthusiastically agree on this point.

Cap guys, help me out. Kelce signed through next year, correct? If he doesn't retire they don't have to bring him back, he's just back no? Spotrac says he signed a 1-year deal last year but their graph shows that he has a deal for 2024 just with a potential out this non-playing season. Which is it?

YEAR   AGE BASE SALARY SIGNING OPTION RESTRUCTURE CAP HIT DEAD CAP YEARLY CASH CASH AAV
2023 Contract details by year 36 $1,165,000 $7,592,000 $1,400,000 $600,000 $10,757,000 $35,508,000 $11,500,000($11,500,000) $11,500,000

POTENTIAL OUT: 2024, 1 YR, $11,500,000; $27,866,000 DEAD CAP

2024 Contract details by year 37 $1,500,000 $6,078,000 $1,400,000 $1,200,000 $10,178,000 $27,866,000 $1,500,000($13,000,000) $6,500,000

It's a one year deal. It's just structured so they can post June 1st his retirement. If he were to come back they would have to extend him.

The 29 year old that they kept dropping into coverage? That guy? :(

If they want to draft him in the 1st or 2nd round they can do so. Wouldnt be me. He might develop, or he might be like Treylon Burks.

I just dont want to see them get Troy Franklin. A 6'3'' version of Tyreke Hill.

In fact, I secretly might like to see us get Troy Franklin. Dont tell anyone.

They could use another stud WR just in case things go bad with Smitty negotiations.

Just curious, but what’s the difference in sensation between an ice pick going through your eye at night vs an ice pick going through your eye in the day time?

Nothing I guess past not being able to sleep

Chiefs vs Packers. Not that the theory was correct this year

Well he didn't drop into coverage every play, in fact, it was a minority of plays, the majority he still rsuhed the passer- er uh I mean he was suppossed to rush the passer, but we will have to take their word for it, because the stats dont suggest he rushed the passer much at all....

My favorite part of the Purdy discourse is 95 percent of the people with an opinion on him say he’s overrated by most.

He was literally being brought up as an MVP candidate.

Point is ... hard to judge a man's play under a guy that unofficially got fired before the season even ended after coming off such a big year the previous year. Except Bradberry... I'm judging him. He's trash lol.

Nfl.com Fran. 3 round mock with eagles trading up to 16 and selecting Powers-Johnson

Then we take Marshawn Kneeland, Patyon Wilson, And Howie Fs up a nice day by taking Malik Washington one pick before Ricky Pearsall goes to San fran.

I like Malik Washington and all for later rounds but over Pearsall... nah.

Yeah I don't like passing on a legit WR that early for a midget slot only guy.

Seems Legette

Wonder if the 40 times make a difference. If Washington goes sub 4.4 I can see his stock rising with some Steve Smith comps. He was super productive after all.

Kelce had a good time last night, not sure he'll remember much of it

I agree with you on the idea of Sweat vs. Reddick.  BUT, there's a reason there's the request by Reddick to seek a trade and not Sweat.   Reddick wants a new deal, because he IS the better player, and he HAS the longer stretch left in him.   Sweat was pretty awful this past year, and will offer very little in trade, especially because of his knees.   Ideally, I don't think the Eagles really want to trade either one, but more than that, I think they don't want to spend more money on Reddick.   They might finally have learned that they need to stop investing top dollar in players that aren't likely to perform at top level.

Oh i 100% think they don’t want to give Reddick an extension or spend more. I think if it were up to the eagles Reddick would just finish out this year and walk next year. Frankly i see this similar to Buddha baker where the cardinals gave him a slight pay increase to smooth it over. I think that’s what ultimately happens. I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t traded

They have to go get Brian Burns in FA. I feel that's the only way they move Reddick. Their obsession with the lines won't allow them to let their best pass rusher walk without a plan in place

Might be able to get Josh Allen in Free Agency if you’re going to pay Burns.

   Why do people pick on Purdy so much?

It's not HIS fault.     If he was trash talking like Deebo, etc. then by all means, unleash the hounds on him.  But, he seems like a genuinely decent fella.   Let's let him be and let the 49ers spend way too much resigning him in a year.

Do you have 9er fans in your life?

Fans (and the media) were propping him up like he’s the best QB in the league.

We all know that’s just the nature of the award, rewarding the QBs on the best teams. But the Purdy discourse is not really comparing Purdy to Lamar or Allen or Mahomes. A lot of people think he’s a bum or just another Jimmy G.

It’s just funny that the overwhelming opinion on Purdy is that he isn’t good, yet those same people say he’s overrated.

I don't think Purdy is overrated or underrated I think he just kind of is. Solid NFL QB. In a good system you can win a lot of games and be productive. Nick Foles proved that.

Kirk Cousins is objectively a better QB than Purdy. I haven't done an official rankings, but if I had to guess I'd probably rank him 15th-ish in the NFL.
