This would be exhibit A in my argument that people really underrate Purdy.

I'm not underrating, he's average. If you think he's any better than that you're overrating him

If you want to see a guy that was completely carried by his team around him to make it to the SB, that's Rex Grossman. Purdy is better than Rex, by far.

Rex Grossman, Trent Dilfer, David Woodley... a few others.

Lol

Fair enough. I think that's debatable. From this point forward though I don't think any team would be taking Kelce over Humphrey.

Definitely.  But for a one game situation... it would still be hard to go against Kelce.

Yes, he’s basically an average starting QB. But that would make him better than guys like Daniel Jones and Jimmy G.

That's a good move for them.

He’s not an average QB. He’s an unproven QB with upside. There’s a reason the 9ers threw the ball less than any other team in the NFL. Isn’t he also the QB that has had the most "luck” with dropped INTs?

Niners in mid offseason form.

2 wrongs don't make a right.  Signing Reddick to a deal that hamstrings the team's ability address other positions isn't a good plan.  I wouldn't be opposed to him getting a raise but he's due over $14 million.  Giving him a $6 million raise on top of that number and extending him for 4 more years isn't going to work out well for the team.  I agree replacing his production is potentially hard but they had a terrible year as a team getting to the QB.  Regression to a mean is going to help production. Nolan Smith will be able to fill in for Reddick.   They should be considering DE/Edge in the first round anyway.

I don't know if Nolan Smith can even play yet. I mean he might, we just have no idea. He showed absolutely nothing this season. And looked completely overmatched at times. He's really undersized. Can't go into the season relying on him for significant production if they plan to compete for a SB in 2024.

This draft isn't a great edge rusher draft. Depends on what they do in free agency. But at some point they need to start building a back 7 and investing their best draft capital into it. If not this year, some time soon. It's a disaster for a reason and they can't keep relying on free agency to fix it. That's how you end up with aging guys who fall off in a year like Bradberry.

Jimmy g did the same thing Purdy did with this team. And Daniel Jones would do the same if he were on the niners. They're all average. If you want to get into varying degrees of average have at it. They're all mid tier JAGs

Until Brock pens something like this, Rex>Brock

Is that Berrian? I think he’s triple-covered. You know what? F it. I’m throwing it downfield.

Yeah, I see Jones open on the flank. But F that. Dumpoff passes are for ****ots. I’m Fing Sexy Rexy Grossman. I can get that ball in there. And, even if I can’t, I bet I’ll be able to pull it off the next go round. I like throwing the ball long. It makes my dick hard.

What’s that? I should throw a quick slant? F that. That’s gay. Button hook? Gay. Flare out? Gay. Screen pass? Kevin Spacey gay. This is Fing football. You can’t just expect wins to come to you. You can’t massage that crap. You gotta grab that game by the throat and rape the ever-loving crap out of it. You think a 5-yard out is gonna win you a game? You’re a ****. This ain’t John Shoop running this offense. Sexy Rexy’s got the arm. The dragon. You gotta unleash the dragon.

Okay, I’m throwing it. Nice. Look how far it went. I look good. I bet I made that Pats cheerleader wet her panties with that throw. She Fing wants me. I bet she likes it over a stair railing. I can hit that with 100% accuracy, my dear. Mmmmmm. I am delicious.

Oh crap. Looks like Samuel caught it. Again. Oh well. It still felt Fing great to throw that crap. Tell me that wasn’t one of the prettiest passes you ever saw. You know what? Not only am I gonna throw it long the next time we hit the field. I’m gonna throw it even longer. Harder. You see that kid in wheelchair sitting in the end zone bleachers? I’m gonna nail him right between the Fing eyes with a Sexy Rexy fastball. Why? Because I can.

This is Rex Grossman we’re talking about here. We’re talking 210 lbs. of twisted steel and sex appeal. I’m not just a gunslinger. I’m a cumslinger. Throwing that ball long tells all the Rexettes that I am Fing out there. On the edge. Where I gotta be. The ladies love the danger. The unpredictability. Oh, maybe I’ll tease them with a pretty touch pass every now and again. But then I’m gonna go right back to pumping that ball out for all it’s worth. It tells them I throw like I F. That’s how we do things in the sexy business.

Tell me you’re not turned on right now. I am.

Wonder what the chances Kelce signs with the Chiefs to play with Travis for both of their final years? You have to think KC is the clear favorite to win it all again next year. He certainly loves wearing Chiefs gear.

0%. Creed Humphrey.

There's been weird Jason Kelce slander in here lately

I'm sorry, but, anyone who gets their panties in a twist or craps on Kelce for something so minor needs to get punched in the dick.

Guy is a Philly legend, a HoFer, a SB champion and arguably one of the biggest faces in franchise history. Enough with the 49er-esque behavior.

After the top 8 QBs I don't think it really matters; everyone else in a position where they need to upgrade.  Right now, those top 8 QBs IMO would be:

Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert, Hurts, Jackson, Tua, ...... sorry, there might only be 7.  Stroud and Love have a chance to be long-term starters.  I think everyone else needs to upgrade.  I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.

I feel like Stafford is likely in the top 8. His issue is staying healthy and how long he wants to play for. But if mcvay had balls, the rams would’ve went for it on 4th down and had a chance to win vs. the lions

He missed 10 games the last two seasons and 19 games his first two.  But in between he’s been pretty darn durable including 8 straight seasons with 0 missed games (10 of 11 seasons missed zero between his first two and last two)

Yeah he was good from year three to the season after the SB. Then he’s missed time again. He’s older now and has had more injuries recently. When he’s been healthy the last two years he’s been good. Frankly the rams were playing well down the stretch. Wouldn’t be surprised if they make a jump next year if he’s healthy.

So much irony.   Weren't the 49ers players chirping just a year ago about the team in the Super Bowl?

Curious about the thought of Brenden Rice in the draft.  Runs routes like his dad.  Strong hands.  Good size (6’3” 210) and good speed.  Mostly played X in college but some slot.  Unlike Reagor, he doesn’t come off as entitled.  Really like how he shields. Fakes are pretty good too.  Excellent separation on slants.

Tell me why you mad son tell me why you mad lmao. Love it.

It's really not that hard to crack the code with Purdy, Hurts, Mahomes, all of them.

Purdy, Trevor Lawrence, and Tua are the best QBs in the NFL on rookie contracts.  I think everyone will give that much credit to Purdy.  Hurts was atop that list last year.  Realistically, the biggest difference between Lawrence and Purdy is that Purdy is on a stacked team with great system type offensive coaching, whereas Lawrence is in less of a cocoon despite superior prototypical QB talent.  Tua is on a stacked offense, but has a lesser defense.

The "going rate" for these guys is astronomical.  Mahomes is the only QB in the NFL that is worth it.  Which is why the best teams in the NFL are always going to be the Chiefs plus whatever team builds a great roster and has a quality guy on a rookie deal.  We had our shot with that and the ship sailed last February.

SF will probably let Purdy play out his deal so they can keep the rest of the team together in 2024 for one last all-in shot.
