did you see last years dunk contest? It needed none of that. McClung stole the show with original dunks each that he made on his 1st try.

This year he did have another new dunk that the judges were too old to notice, and otherwise he and everyone else just kept jumping over people so it lacked originality.

Jalen Brown tried to copy a famous dunk where the dunker covered his eyes, but Browns execution was off and he didnt cover his eyes till after he landed and the crowd boo'd him. I dont think he will ever do another dunk contest.

There was really no one in McClung's league this year, and even his werent as exciting as last year.

Slam dunk is good and original maybe once every 5-10 years.

Last night was mostly boring.

The Dee Brown dunk is one of the most iconic dunks of all time. Jaylon looked like a fool doing it.

I think a lot of people see the scheme and gameplan Hurts was handed and saw how handicapped he was by the coaches. We’ll have a few years to shake out where Hurts is going to be in this league.

Joe Burrow, CJ Stroud, and Mahomes are the only QBs I’d consider trading Hurts for.

I'm hesitant on CJ Stroud only because it was 1 year. Let's see if that was a flash in the pan or if he's the real deal and improves off of his rookie year. Hurts was all-world in 2022 and we saw him come back down to reality in 2023. Stroud is good, no doubt. But can he continue improving and become a top 3-5 QB year in and year out?

Also, to your first point, last year was electric because of McClung and what made it that much better was every dunk was made on the 1st attempt.

I can still remember when Iguodala lost the dunk contest to Nate Robinson when Robinson had to use so many attempts.

It’s my role to drop these grenades around here, so I have to be the one to say it.  Here goes:

Im tired of the Jason Kelce show.  Over it.

During the SB week, Kelce talked with three broadcasting groups.  I imagine he is mulling over those jobs versus taking Istvan’s job under Stout.   Word is that he wants to go into the office at Philly as one of his goals.  I wonder if they would accede to letting him continue with New Heights.

Your assessment of Stroud can also be said word-for-word as to Hurts.  He essentially got paid for his one breakout season.  I believe Hurts in 2021 was in the 18-20 range for QBs, became top 3 in 2022, then slid to about 10-12 last season.

Howie did a great job spreading Hurts’ cap hit out along his contract where it’s a $13.6M hit for 2024, then $22M, $32M, and $46M the following years.  That leaves the Eagles room to maintain a really good roster around him.  Still, Hurts needs to get back to being a clear top 5-6 QB to keep his job secure in the long term.

Marcellas Dial is a CB I’ll be watching at the combine . His coverage is tight

An under 6’ CB that actually played in the slot.  He does have a good mirror but bumps too much for the NFL.  (Of course, physicality from DBs is common coming out of college.  A DB would be nuts not too play by the NCAA rules.)  As with any transition by a DB to the NFL, have to question if he can overcome that.  Thought he looked light at the Shrine and I don’t see any makeup gear.

They will way over cover the QBs this year and thus undercover the drills.   Going to be fun to watch all those OTs in the drills.  I wonder if the three cone/short shuttle skipping continues. Kind of hate that.  My favorite of the underwear calisthenics.

Makeup? He’s usually step for step

Based on what metric?

Position coaches have two main roles
- Improvement of guys in their room
- Guys playing to the scheme

Moorehead hasn't developed a single WR since he was here. Closest "W" you can give him is Watkins. I don't want to hear Devonta, who was arguably the most polished WR to come out the draft since Larry Fitzgerald. He didn't develop Reagor. Hightower busted. Covey developed as a ST player (Michael Clay!) but not at WR.

We always hope Howie will take a LB and he never does. Don't get your hopes up. He's going line. Both sides. Like he always does.

Stroud though has always been a great passer. Only knock was he was surrounded by talent at osu

For those who didn't watch. Here's Jaylon Brown jumping over a seated "streamer", who gets paid by nearly $300k a year from streaming himself sleeping, while completely failing at doing the Dee Brown. Meanwhile, Mac McClung jumped, and cleared 7'1" Shaq.

The only cool thing about that court is that they made the Boston Garden floor afterwards.

The fact is there is no definitive argument that any other QB in the league right now is better than Hurts other than Mahomes.

I'm so excited for him to prove the haters wrong again. I'm so excited to see those cockroaches sprint out of their holes again to go full hate mode again.  He is so far form the problem and is very likely the second best player in the league at any position that it's laughable. But okay, he will prove it again.  We should have a confident DC for once since Schwartz.  Just need to hope that the Moore/Sirianni hybrid works out.

We will need to see if a CB, or DE, is available when we are picking the 1st. I would be open to a quality player that has dropped at any position, as long as it is a position of value and need. We do not have a luxury to address offense with WR in the first. Too many things to fix on defense.

Estime appears to be picking up the steam he deserves , rb 2 for me

Picking in the #22 range has always been disastrous in the Howie era.  Unless there’s a player they’ve really done their homework on who slides to them I think the Eagles really consider trading out of the 1st.  It will depend how the board plays out with positional runs, though.  Lots of QBs, WR, and OT rated in the first round right now.  There certainly could be a CB who is BPA at their pick who is too good to pass up

Imagine 20 years ago after Losing Super Bowl XXXIX, someone came in a Deloran and told you, Donovan would be traded to Washington, Andy would be fired and join the Chiefs and the Eagles would go to 2 Super Bowls, winning one with Doug Pederson who was with Donovan during his Rookie season and with Nick Foles who was drafted by Andy.  They would go to another Super Bowl with the Coach Andy Fired in KC with Nick who worked under the OC who won the Super Bowl with the Eagles in Frank.  Along with getting there with the QB in Hurts who Doug Pederson Drafted...with Doug having huge ties to Andy. Andy would then go to 4 Super Bowls and win 3 including beating the Eagles.  So basically between Andy and the Eagles, that's 6 Super Bowls with 4 Total Wins.  You would laugh in that Time Traveler's face in 2004, lol.

He threw big money just not the biggest money. I think Howie will do it for a safety if they're a player he thinks is truly elite. Like one of the 3-5 best in the NFL. But not for anyone else.

I almost threw big money at the strip club last night but decided not to go. Saphire was about to get a big 💰.

Nope, and I'm OK with that. I just don't understand what the hell sleep streaming is and how a guy makes nearly $300k doing it. Literally streaming yourself as you sleep...

If that’s the one I’m thinking off he’s got his stream set up that when someone donates or subs alarms go off and lights flash and all this other stuff that wakes him up.  It’s kind of genius…if you’re a sadist.

I would, then I'd remember 2022 was our best shot with Hurts actually winning a SB and that our team was quickly heading in the wrong direction

Lloyd is solid but seems to be rated about right. Solid and unspectacular.
