IIRC a team either did or tried to interview Stoutland and Eagles ending up either giving him a new contract or upgrading his role with a new contract

Correct

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

The Eagles kept him. They didn't have to keep him. This is the 2nd time they've kept him during a coaching overhaul. I'm guessing that they "know" what he does well.

Keeps his pics of Howie to himself.

I actually forgot about that one lol I was thinking about a previous time that may have been after the SB

So it's happened on multiple times. Makes sense.

Is Cody Whitehair totally shot? Has experience at C and G, wonder if the Eagles would be interested in him as a backup.

Moorehead should be fired for vouching for Reagor if we’re being honest.

Guys actually seem to get worse with him…

I think Moorehead is gone next season. It's been a long enough pause with the revolving door. Need to go back to finding a good WR coach

He might be a good post draft signing.  I think PFF had his grade way down this season.

I don't see how.  I was there for 5 years.

Expected, but he was my #1 Eagles desired target. I expect most will be franchised.

I really think Xavier McKinney should be one of our top targets in FA.  I think he's underrated especially playing alongside the slop the NYG put out there each week

Snead is likely getting tagged too. I thought they would give it to Jones but his number is like $35M so I doubt it

I am not sure I would tag Sneed over Jones.  Jones is more valuable to the team even though his cost is about $10 million more.   I think they would have to restructue deals to be able to tag either of them.

Name an Eagles WR coach since the AR start that have been better.  I’ll wait.

I honestly don't remember the majority of them. Do you think he should stay as the WR coach?

It's not like the CBA agreement popped out of thin air and foisted onto the players.  The players negotiated not working with coaches in the offseason.

Agreed.  And I didn't point my finger at the NFL, specifically either.  Frankly, it doesn't matter to me who is at fault.  The product isn't as good.

Really hope the Derrick Henry rumors aren't true. He'd be DeMarco Murray 2.0. Dead legs, a lot of mileage, and already 30. Much better off re-signing Swift.

Depends on the cost, at what he is going to want then yeah obviously not. But in general? If he were to take a two year contract worth 2-3 mil per year with incentives, they'd be crazy not to. He still averaged over 4 ypc this past year behind a line that isn't as good as ours.

Also, the Demarco Murray signing was a failure because that brain dead coaching staff horribly misused him, dude ran for almost 1300 yards the very next season. He wouldn't have lasted past that second season but with a competent staff he would've been a fine signing.

All that said, the rumors definitely aren't true, this team doesn't value RB enough to put big money into it which is probably what Henry wants. Years of evidence say we're going to grab one in the middle rounds or trade a mid round pick in-season.

The reason Murray didn't work out here for that 1 year was play calling and coaching. He looked pretty darn good the very next year in Tennessee. He made the pro bowl, had over 1,650 yards from scrimmage and 12 total TD's.

Well, two years in a row, he produced two 1,000 yard receivers despite the woes at the end of last season.  Give him Brenden Rice in the slot and a development prospect and let Covey play a bit more WR and let’s see.   He got more out of Watkins than I ever expected.  I do think Hurts needs height in the slot.

Sneads tag would be around $18M. Jones is far and away the better player but they can’t keep him on a one year cap number around $32M. Based on his comments at the parade it sounds like Jones will get a mega extension before FA starts too.
