Yeah we just need bodies there at this point.  DE's are going to get a bag in free agency though, I hope Howie can move quick before the numbers start spiraling out of control

I’d be okay finding a bench scorer and a backup C with rim protection and rebounding. Team is playing great, some good role players, could just use someone to give us a cool 12-15 off the bench and someone who’s a presence in the interior off the bench.

I tend to think Daryl Morey is looking for an upgrade third option to Tobias Harris. Cause II tend to think Daryl Morey is looking for a upgrade third option to Tobias Harris. Cause I don’t think he trusts Tobias Harris in the playoffs to continuously to show up. Because past history shows he disappears for stretches in series.

They offered CJGJ more than he eventually signed for to stay. That was 100% on CJGJ and his agent.

Yep.  For all the criticism Howie deserves, he tried to retain CJG and Edwards.  They wanted to leave.  It was reported that Howie offered both more money.

Having said that, since Edwards left Howie should have signed Kyzir White again.  While not a star player or anything, he was a competent player not a liability.

He wanted veterans in the secondary so he pivoted to Bradberry, and he restructured Slay who thought if they're going to pay Bradberry he needs a new contract too.  He should have let Bradberry walk and not extended Slay.

Then at pick #30 they take Nolan Smith.  That pick was well liked, and he may turn out to be a good player.  But on the board at that time were guys at corner and DE that people thought would be good picks such as Joey Porter Jr, BJ Ojulari, Brian Branch.

Howie also the year prior traded up 2 spots because he just had to have Jordan Davis...and could have taken Kyle Hamilton at S.  He gave up 3 draft picks to do that (a 4th and two 5ths).  Not that he drafts all that well in those rounds anyway, but maybe drafting Hamilton at S then using those 3 picks on other positions would have been better.

If they sign burns it means either sweat or reddick is likely gone after 2024. Have a feeling it’ll be reddick simply cause they drafted smith and i think they envisioned smith taking over that role.

I don't think I could watch another game if that's the case. Totally unacceptable. If they have to learn on the job maybe don't skip OTA's, minicamps and such. Be on the field as much as you're allowed to. What a clown show.

Nor could I.🤮

Tbh i rather get markkanen from utah who’s been made available. But problem is i don't think the sixers have the capital to get it done. And if they did i think there’s other teams with the capital and just better assets.

I didn’t know Lauri was available

It got floated out there that the Jazz  were going to make him available and anybody for the right price. The problem the Sixers have is I’m not sure they have the right price because they don’t have young players that Utah wants and draft picks. I think there’s gonna be a team out there that can match what the jazz want better than what the Sixers can

That would be a similar reaction to the first time I saw the Denise Richards/Neve Campbell scene in Wild Things.

But he probably gets tagged.  C-blocks.  :nonono:

We don’t have enough to get into bidding wars but we have some assets

Has Lane said he's playing another year?

Initially I had no idea what you were taking about.  Thought that Cox was going to go out and produce some sort of wine during retirement.   Then I zoomed in on the pic.  Very observant 👍😂

Is Davis claiming to be a team leader?  Dude needs to get himself in shape first.

I thought the same thing. Davis is not a leader yet. Has a lot to prove.

Plus not sure I want us dealing with Ainge ever again.

Yes... and Epps?   Howie made the choice to go with two new safeties (he let CJGJ's tantrum turn him off) and invest extra money in two aging CBs... both of whom missed significant time, AND he essentially ignored the back 7 in the draft on top of shopping the clearance rack in Free agency.

The idea that Howie is somehow the victim in all this is laughable.  This is HIS master plan and HIS decisions coming back to bite the team in the backside.  Howie chose to let these guys hit the market.  He had opportunity to negotiate with these players before FA started, but he let the market set the price, and as a result, he was left without much left for this team.  He wanted to get these guys back for bargain prices... and we see the result.   And why did he need bargain prices?  Because of how much dead money this team carries due to the structures he uses for these overpriced aging players.   Lather, rinse, repeat with the way he structured the Bradberry and Slay contracts he gave out just this offseason.

No worries though, we can walk away from both Slay and Bradberry after ONE MORE season... and only have $24M dead for Slay and $12M dead for Bradberry.   ($36M in dead money for players that are likely going to be killing the team in 2024 while they are ON the roster.)

I have a feeling that they probably don’t know and if they did were likely asked to be media silent.   Just a guess.

Definitely strongly intimated it with his comments that he feels he has a few good years left or something like that

He said he has a few good years left. I think he’s back for another year or two.

I hadn't thought about Sanders since he left. Damn he's struggling with Panthers. Went from 1269 yards to 432 yards with 1 TD
