Minus 2023 and the historic all time collapse.

There was no historic blah blah.

The Eagles best WR was out of the playoffs.

The Eagles decided pretty early to run their star players into the ground,   and all of Brown, Smith, Goedert and Hurts had some sort of injury by the end of the year.

Hopefully in 2024, the Eagles get decent backups at WR, TE, and RB.

The Eagles have 4 good starters,  they need 2 more,  and they need good backups,  so that players like Brown and Smith aren't limping in the playoffs, or out of the playoffs.   Brown and Smith and Goedert shouldn't be playing 90+% of the snaps.   We see what happens when that happens.  a 10-1 start,  and then a lot of losses due to fatigue and injury.   Also,  none of the Eagles RBs were average or better than average.  All were below average.   The Eagles need a lot of players. at the skill positions.  The OL is great.  There are backups there, waiting their turn.

A J Brown hit the nail on the head this morning.

What did he say?

The Eagles have signed RT Darian Kinnard to a contract. I actually love this signing. I’m a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan. This guy played RT for us and was extremely good. If he would’ve declared after his junior year he would’ve gone in the 1st round as that’s where he was consistently being projected. He came back for Senior season and his stock fell slightly. I haven’t kept up with his pro career but I know he’s got the size at 6-5 345lbs. I would love to see what could happen when Stout gets his hands on him. Maybe nothing, but definitely worth a shot

I'd say anyone who isn't concerned about Hurts' NFL injury history is pretty damn foolish.

Hurts has a pretty similar injury history to Lamar.  Neither have gotten seriously hurt,  but both have a tendency to get banged up through the course of the season so that they're not 100% at running at the end of the season and the playoffs.   Running is an important part of both of their games.

No. You are supposed to know but don't say it.

Just remembered -- The Crying Game.  Went to see that movie with the girl I was dating at the time.  She leaned over to me and asked "Do you think she is pretty?"  Thankfully, I did not and said "No".  It did leave me wondering afterwards who she'd seen the movie with already, though  LOL

Not every crazy trade scenario needs to be shared

Sure is true. I get he is the Eagles QB and many have blinders on, but Sims is spot on about him. You give a lot of QBs that OL and Brown and Smith with DG and they will look good. Many would look a lot better than him as well. He didn't have a good OC holding his hand last year and he fell apart. Will he look better this year with the new one? Sure. Will he win a SB? Nope. Teams have figured him out. Take away the run and put pressure on him. If his first option isn't there he's screwed. Mahomes just won a SB with crap outside of TK and many are sitting here saying yeah but we need to get him a good 3rd option when he has possibly the best two in the league and a top 10 TE. McNabb drove me up a wall but he never had close to the weapons Hurts does and made it to tons of NFCCG.

Not everything that happened this year was his fault but he didn't do them any favors either. He made it to the SB and now they have him figured out. It won't happen again.

It's not true because we literally saw it being false in 2022. Sure in 2023 he reverted back to bad habits but we've seen greatness and I'm not yet willing to believe that he can't reach 2022 again

If all you add are gambles... then you are gambling far too much.   Buying a lottery ticket on a lark isn't a bad thing.    Buying lottery tickets as your retirement plan is a horribly stupid plan.    Howie's plan at S and LB last year were lottery tickets and band-aids.   We got equal production from them as to match the investment that Howie made.   He got equal ROI.

For the love of the football gods, it February and the 90 man roster.  Time to swing for the fences at no real cost.  None of these lottery picks will count against the salary cap unless they earn a roster spot.  All signs suggest that Fangio will need OLBs.  They added a 9 sacks in basically two seasons (injury risk but kind of like Swift, not debilitating or permanent nor repetitive).  The cost $1.3 million guaranteed.  Good value for a 25 year old.  They added an Alabama 25 year old rush OLB for a futures contract.  Bend is my biggest concern for Lewis.  That’s a good gamble.  So is Kinnard as a possible Opeta replacement.  I’ll take Davis-Price as a possible replacement for Penny.  He is better in pass pro than Penny.  If one of those players hits, it is worth the swing.

Howie lost on CJGJ because his agent misread the market.  LB? Pretty bare market and he did what he could.  We knew the defense was going to get stripped and that Howie had limitations because of cap pressure. I wasn’t the only one expecting the D to take a big step back.

Now if this is all Howie does between now and the draft, he fails. (I am not his biggest fan so it doesn’t surprise me when he does.) But I like the start.  I like the coordinator changes.  I like the snatching of some futures prospects.  Next up, extensions and finding out for sure who the assistant coaches are.

Wentz looked like an MVP. What happened after?

What i think @LeanMeanGM was referring to earlier

He said you shouldn't put ketchup on cheesesteaks.

Rumor has it that's how Dallas Goedert likes it, and why Hurts wasn't targeting him early in the season to teach him a lesson.

We gave him chances to do it again. Why does Hurts not get that as well?

He will get one. That doesn't mean it will go any better or that contract wasn't the exact same mistake as it was with Wentz. I hope he proves me wrong but I do not like his personality or his situational awareness. He's not the guy.

What "personality" do you want from the QB? To dance and do jazz hands?

🤔. So, bringing up previous failures is not allowed because its only Feb?   Got it.   I'll wait until May to be disappointed by Howie's unwillingness to invest properly.

Howie lost because HE misread CJGJ, Morrow, Evans, Edmunds, Byard, Cunningham, Jack, Bradberry, Penny.     But, yeah, Howie was a victim.    He couldn't have possibly tried to resign the LBs that we already had, he had to go cheaper with Morrow.   He invested $1M on a one year deal, and he got exactly what he paid for.    He could have resigned Kyzir White.  Yes, it would have cost more than a $1M though.   Whoops.

Between Morrow, Cunningham and Leonard, the Eagles paid less than $5M combined and got less than that in return.   At safety, Edmunds, Evans and Byard cost the team $4M.  And... they got less than that in production from them.

I can't wait to see his moves this offseason.

Be able to have a high percentage on first read means that you're either really good pre-snap (Brady) or play in a pre-determined offense (Shanahan tree). That's actually a good sign for Jalen because he's strong pre-snap.

Hard to tell how strong he is pre snap in this offense seeing as how they constantly break the huddle with 10 seconds or less on the play clock and are snapping the ball as it hits zero.

Coaching staff was awful getting plays in this year so if hurts is strong pre snap they didn't give him any opportunity to show it

He's not saying that.  He's saying stop it with the clickbait and he's 100% right.  Someone is always trying to invent some 'bombshell' story about the Eagles because it gives them views, clicks, name recognition.

Not a robot would be a good start. I guess you need to ask Cox though since you think I'm wrong. I'm sure he doesn't know anything either from the HE report above.
