  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

We learned the roster isn't as stacked as we think.  Two excellent receivers for sure.  But the offensive line was ineffective, 1 good but not great TE who can't play a full season backed up by practice squad level players, with mediocre RBs who completely sucked picking up blitzes.

Dak is the best.  Glad you see it too.

I brought up the defense earlier today as a comparative dialogue to point out that being "top 10" doesn't really mean much.  Have fun being dumb.

Here's a reminder of your original post talking about how the offense wasn't stacked. Then you moved the goalposts 40 times

The irony of you calling someone dumb when you spin yourself in circles because you don't even know what you're discussing :roll:

Look it was a disastrous ending to our Defending NFC Championship and Super Bowl Run season after starting 10-1 (2 game lead on the entire league), 1-6 including an early playoff loss was just not the way it should have happen.  It was a late season Super Bowl Hangover, it was crazy..  Of course the media is going to be dissecting what happen I'm not shocked by all the stories.  With that said, the media loves to exaggerate things so I take a lot it with a grain of salt. But there were clearly problems near the end of the season in December.   The way the season started, it seemed like a rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs was going to happen.  Then December came and everything fell apart.   Now we will have two new coordinators for the 3rd straight year.   I'm cautiously optimistic because they still won 11 games.   I believe they can get double digits again. It's not like the NFC is world beaters outside of a few teams.

Much easier schedule next season as well.

Albert O is the first extension?  Makes no sense to me even if Stoll turned down their offer.

Maybe Moore actually plans on playing him?

imagine using a talented pass catching TE in the passing game. That might be a good idea.

He isn't a good enough QB to win a SB. He is a one read gimmick with a ton of weapons and a very good OL. He struggles with situational awareness and plays hero ball.

Hurts almost got the Eagles a Super Bowl in 2022.

The Eagles do not have a ton of weapons.

Most of the Eagles WR/TE/RB/FB are below average.

It should be easy for the Eagles to replace below average players with JAGs.

RBs - 4/4 - all below average.   Swift, Gainwell, Penny, Scott.
WRs - 2 above average WRs.  1 great. 1 not great but good.  Brown is great,  Smith is good.  Watkins, Oz, Covey - all below average.  Covey is good at punt return.
TEs - 1 above average TE.  Not great but good. Goedert is good.  Calcaterra close to average,  Stoll below average, Albert O below average.

Above average skill players, leaving aside QB  - Brown, Smith, Goedert, Covey (WR, at PR)

Below average skill players - Swift, Gainwell, Penny, Scott, Watkins, Oz, Calcaterra, Stoll.

3 above average -  8 below average.

If the Eagles had 8 picks that they could dedicate to offensive skill positions,  there are 8 spots that the Eagles could fill with rookie draft picks.  Not at all anything like some sort of loaded or stacked lineup.

The Eagles need a new starting RB from elsewhere.   Derrick Henry,  Saquon Barkley,  draft pick.

The Eagles need a big back,  who could be the same guy as the new starting RB,  but could also not be.   There are 4 RBs who could all be replaced.

The Eagles need a new starter at WR/TE.   If it's a WR,  better than Watkins.  If it's a TE, better than Calcaterra.  I'd say pick 50, mid 2nd round,  for this player.

I'd go
1) Cooper DeJean CB/S (18 mock draft database)
2a) Xavier Legette WR (49 mock draft database)
2b) Braelon Allen RB (87 mock draft database)
at this point,  before the combine.

I could see possibly the Eagles trading up in the 2nd, trading both 2s for a better 2 and a 3rd.  To get Legette in the second and Allen in the 3rd.

then the Eagles have 6 more picks for mostly cb/s/lb/de,  raw great athletes.  a TE, a OL.

and udfas.   john rhys plumlee QB/WR (424 mock draft database) would be one.   udfa costs nothing.  might be the fastest QB available,  had over 1000 yards rushing in a season with Ole Miss,  was also a WR for Ole Miss.  practice squad, special teams.

Awee shizzz RAS MAN is BaCk!

Good we need someone to be inactive every game

Whew.  That was a close one.

How bad of a player are you when your agent is like "yea just sign a one year deal now. No point to wait until the combine or the legal tampering period.”

Or.. how bad is your agent?

Or how smart is it to get a deal done now before FA and the draft shrinks his market

6ers were down 30. Just cut it to 12.

I’m not sure that’s possible

I hope we bring back Penny. Albert O will need a friend on the inactive list.

That's just cruel to bring that up. Was hoping to pretend that signing just didn't happen

Any interest in Mack Hollins as a slot? Some say Moore likes a big slot. We also know his offense requires field stretching. Mack has the size, and 4.4 speed. He can be a big slot, and a vertical slot. At a very affordable cost. And also a key STs contributor.

Look at Reddick’s sack rate.  Bet this is a stat Howie showed his agent. (You’ll have to open the tweet because Reddick is that far down the list.)

Pretty much have to completely discard 2023 for Reddick. Started the season with the cast and the entire defense fell apart at the end and the coaching change messed everything up. I don't know how you fairly evaluate him based on 2023.

WTF do you mean they don't have weapons. Smith and Brown are two of the best in the league and DG is top 10 with a top OL.  I didn't even read the rest after that. PM just won a SB with a TE and crap.

McNabb with all his flaws got to NFCCG with starters like their third string guys.

Troll account.

Like last year, there are a lot of intriguing options on the free agent safety market. We stood pat and didnt sign anyone till there was literally no one left, and then signed the JAG Edmunds.

This year

Whitehead is only 27 years old. 97 tackles, 4 INTs

PJ Locke is an intriguing guy who could maybe break out with an opportunity for more playing time, and familiarity with Fangio from Denver. 27 years old.

Geno Stone only had 66 tackles, but 7 INTs. Going to be 25 years old.

DeShon Elliott 82 tackles and familiar with Fangio from Miami. Going to be 27 years old.

Ashtyn Davis- whats the deal with getting 3 INTs with only 169 snaps on the season? 27 years old. Like Locke maybe can break out with more playing time.

Julian Blackmon 88 tackles, 4 INTs. 25 years old.

Jordan Fuller 93 tackles, 3 INTs. 26 years old. The rams let both starting safeties go last offseason. He did this in his first year as starter. Will they let another one go?

Kam Curk 115 tackles. Going to be 25 years old.

This is without even mentioning the top names that will be expensive. McKinney, Winfield, Sneed (can be a safety), Dugger...
