Clint Hurtt is an absolute UNIT

Likely true.   Though, I was being snarky.

Like the Clint Hurtt addition.   Good signing.  A defensive passing game coordinator will help.  Bit surprised with the Washburn holdover and Ronell Williams shift.  Pagnetti as assistant OL.  Guess no Kelce there yet.

WTF is a Head Coach Quality Control Assistant?   Keep Nick’s emotions in check?

I think that was their player friendly approach in action.  May not hurt in attracting players to the team.

I started listening to the Go Birds pod (yes I know ESP is a bit of a clown) and they were saying there’s nothing good coming from the organisation at the moment. But then I couldn’t listen further.

You panic and overreact and buy into every negative thing, which is exactly why they do that. It gets attention. They know their audience.

Quality control head coach is a head scratcher. Any other team do that?

The QB coach had 1 year with Herbert and 2 years with Dak

Let me stop you right here.

Not a robot would be a good start. I guess you need to ask Cox though since you think I'm wrong. I'm sure he doesn't know anything either from the HE report above.

So the comment from Cox was asking Jalen to be more vocal. Not a big deal.

Here's Cox recently in an interview from his own mouth: "I respect Jalen as a person and a leader. And the biggest thing is, you get the same guy every day." After Torrey Smith defends Hurts saying it's nonsense to say he can't win a SB, Cox says "You gotta look at the guy, he's a winner."

Up & Adams is a very appropriate title for her program.

Things tend to point upward upon viewing and listening to her.

It says Head Coach Quality Control not the other way around. Dom is tired of babysitting Siri.

Berman thinks the Head Coach Quality Control is just a fancy title for a guy whose basically an assistant. He'll probably be logging data for in game decisions and other analytical stuff.

Further to Cox's point of "he's still learning", though -- Hurts has gotta be on the tablet between drives, he's gotta be getting with Kellen Moore between drives.  That's what has to improve, more than his demeanor or personality.

These in-game adjustments have to be done, between series, between drives.

The cap going up when the Eagles don't have a lot of free agents to resign is very good news.

Yep. Aside from extending Smith and Dickerson we might be able to bid on one or two of the tier 2 free agents, or bite the bullet and overpay for a player at a position of need (dare I say LB?)

The cap going up makes it both easier to extend and trade Reddick.

The Quality Control Assistant is a combination gopher, liaison, and coordinator.

The HC looks at film, a lot. Who sets that up? The QCA. You want to see next week's opponent, or film on free agents, or opponents' injury reports? That's the QCA's job, to provide you with that. You don't expect your HC to set up the projector, root through the databases, extract particular material? No, The HCA does it. Self-scouting, same. Somebody has to convert raw data to information and that's the HQA's job, if he's a good one. Somebody gets injured; is he going to be available next week? If not, when? Instead of having the HC chase round to the medical staff, it's the QCA's job to do the chasing. Howie tracks all the transactions around the league, keeps tabs on who's available, etc. and it's the QCA's job to have that information ready for the HC. When they're on the road the job becomes much more complex and you can't expect the HC, or any of the other coaches for that matter, to take time away from their regular duties for support activities.

And so on.

The QCAs have their own group and their job is to communicate, to schedule, and to have a rolodex (virtual) to just about everybody in the league.

Do they have a RAS coach?

Salary Cap set at 255.4 Million
