This is such a joke. I’m not the biggest Cam Newton fan, but he’s one of the few guys that consistently puts himself out there in the community and runs youth camps to try to give back. The fact someone tried to go after him is pathetic.

Got jumped by 6 guys?  LOL

He appears to be grappling with one guy and another grabs him from behind to prevent him from pummeling the first guy; neither guy actually throws any punches at him.

Rule of thumb -- if you're in a fight and, at the conclusion of the fight, they still haven't been able to knock the silly hat off your head .... those are some wimpy combatants.

It seems sports media is very revenue based anymore which, in tandem with the "be first, not right" mentality, has created a really crappy environment and it's less about actual journalism than it is writing about something that will get people to your site.

Its sad really that that what journalism nit just sports journalism has been reduced to.

My grandpa was a journalist, he had his own section in the Salt Lake Tribune, called the Do it man, and at one point I wanted to go into journalism, with the state of journalism now im kind of glad that never materialized...

He gives absolutely horrendous takes.  His sourcing is probably really good, which makes his takes all the worse.

I definitely will not miss him a bit.

The answer is obvious.

Trade Hurts for a hefty package. Use the extra money and picks to fix the defense and sign our guys to extensions. Start McKee and groom Penix for a year.

Let me give Howie a call for this totally realistic plan.

Look at what the the 9ers did with Brocks Purty.

Maybe Cam turned the guy's mom into a toad.

It's an absolute lock that we would look back on any Reddick extension and regret it.

The fact that you're right hurts my feelings.

Nobody the Eagles can find will be better than Hurts cause he got them to a Super Bowl. So did many other QBs who never did crap again but they have to stick with Hurts forever because it's only like his 5th rookie year.

Fascinating there was ever a market for a 10,000 word weekly article series.

I know attention spans have evaporated as we become increasingly digital, but still... Even back in the day I was skimming these.

All the respect to Peter King though. That kind of output over that length of time is truly impressive.

If the top couple safeties get tagged, one of the Eagles top targets should be none other than CJGJ.

Reasons:

Young, playmaking ability, would be a great bargain compared to other safeties. Cost 6.5m coming off a pro bowl season. Coming off a season where he was hurt he'd be even cheaper.

Can play slot corner if needed.

Likely would want a one year deal to rebuild his value so no long commitment needed.

Knows the players, team, city.

If the doofuses out there can get over their petty little resentment of him over the offseason trash talking, they will come to the realization that it would be a smart signing. And with the money they'd save not overpaying elsewhere, could throw a little more money into another position. Whether it be LB, CB, RB, slot WR, whatever.

I can't tell if your expectations are just insanely unrealistic or it just doesn't matter who the QB is as long as it's anyone else other Hurts because........ uhhhh reasons.

... and this is why he's not coming back.  He was vocal about not liking Philly.  Didn't his car get broken into while he was here?

I'd say insanely unrealistic for me to want a QB who's able to process the field and have good situational awareness/IQ. So yeah...anyone other than Hurts who can do that works for me.

Do you think Hurts showed that ability in 2022?

Who knows on McKee? Dorian Thompson-Robinson looked awesome in the preseason and then was complete garbage once he had to play for Cleveland in the regular season.

McKee played against the 3rd and 4th string in the 4th Q.   Against such competition, he had a completion percentage of 54.2%.  And he's not a fast runner or anything, can't do what Jalen can do.

I like Mariota.  Best yards per carry on the Eagles last year with 6.5.

Over dramatic much? Forever... nah... mostly till his contract is up or they are in a position to to walk away from it without too much penalty if they so desire. So whether folks like it or not he's here for a bit in the foreseeable future. Either suffer with that fact and be miserable or support and hope that the franchise QB1 gets off of his little slide with a better OC. I'll do the later. I'll watch you bish and moan I suppose. Then again that's your shtick and I still can't really ever tell 'if serious' lol.

Same as Wentz did the SB year. Teams adjusted. But he can do this or that well sometimes. Sometimes being the keyword and then he craps the bed by holding the ball and taking a stupid sack, sliding at the 3 before the half so the clock almost runs out, throws to someone in double or triple coverage cause he can't see a guy open 15 yards in front of him in FG range, etc. He's not the guy.

Or being a smart ** much yes I was. I can't stand Hurts and don't hide it. That's my shtick. Will he do better with a new OC? I sure hope so.

He will go to who gives him the best offer and who gives him the best opportunity to play. See how fast he loves Philly again if the Eagles offer both to him in a month.

So does Hurts. Hopefully, we both improve next year.
