I would be tempted to make a run at Barkley or Ekeler. A true 3 down back would add a lot to this offense. I do think we'll end up with Swift again.

I have concerns about paying them good money and them falling off a cliff. You never know when a RB is going to drop off. And when it does it's drastic. Look at Dalvin Cook in 2023. Dude was considered a top 7 RB in football by many and now is virtually unplayable. May not make an NFL roster next season. Barkley's had injuries and didn't look quite the same in 2023 and Ekeler feels like he's had a lot of wear and tear. If you're going to go big money they should go Jacobs. Not that I would go big money. He feels like a guy who has some more years left in him. Looked explosive and powerful in 2023.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Le’veon Bell wants to come back we should sign him

Like Swift and would be happy to have him back.  But, if you are talking a couple million more for Josh Jacobs, you have to do that deal.

I think Jacobs would be great in the Moore offense.

The running game situation should be the same blue print every year.

1.  Build an elite OL.

2.  Maintain the elite OL.

3.  Every 2-3 years, draft a rb round 3-5.

4.  Every year, add 2 vets on 1 year deals.  Some can be late late round trades, some can be 1 year show-me deals for guys that want to leverage our OL into a better contract.

Some years will feature better rotations than others, but you’ll never go wrong with that formula.

And if one of the running backs is big,  like 230+ pounds, the Eagles have a chance to win the Super Bowl.   (See: LeGarrette Blount 241 pounds)

Porn career didn't pan out?

Thought he had a future there.

Could have hit it big with classics like...

'Shaved by the Bell'

'For Whom the Bell Poles'

'Bell's Bottoms'

Wait until you hear about Nate Ilaoa. 5’9” and 245 pounds. With a RAS that would make you blush. Eagles would be unstoppable with all that meat.

Best CB not being talked about- Renardo Green. Best safety not being talked about- Jaden Hicks.

I have seen it said recently that Hicks may be the 1st safety off the board, which is interesting since he is not on the radar currently in any other draft media.

Well, now you are talking about him.   So, who's the NEXT best guy not being talked about?    No, don't talk about him... or else we'll need a new guy again!!

QBs throw and run.

Funny thing is you never seem to mention that first part.    You said, obstensibly:  "I like Mariota.  He runs fast.   He has the highest ypc average."

Quick question:  How does he throw?

Seems the uniform changes, but the player doesn't.

That would be a disaster if that’s our HB room.

Not to worry, we can bring back Mariota and his league leading ypc.

Blount v Ilaoa RAS compare as RB

The weight was there,  the RAS was not.

RAS didn’t exist back then. Fake news.

At throwing?

Not as good as Hurts.  Better than McKee.

A sufficient career passer rating. 89.2   A lower passer rating last year than Hurts. 82.5.

Great running,  sufficient passing.  Not very expensive for a QB who still has his legs and who has won a playoff game.

McKee just has bad stats against their worst players in the preseason and can't run.

If the Eagles want to draft/udfa someone

Glad we focus on the most important aspect.  Fastest QB is absolutely the goal.

Btw, what was Tom Brady's RAS score?  (Asking for a friend)

Lamar Jackson has won the MVP,  with record breaking running, and about Hurts-level passing, 2 of the last 5 years.

There are very few running QBs in the NFL.  Not close to half.  Yet the running QBs do well.

Hurts set a QB rushing record for rushing TDs by a QB in a season.

And the Eagles, although floundering at the end of last season,  were in good enough shape for the playoffs until their best player got hurt and was unable to play.

If there are 10 non running QBs and 2 do well, and there are 4 running QBs and 2 do well, the running QBs did better.

Some years will feature better rotations than others, but you’ll never go wrong with that formula.

The downside to this formula is you have to draft well, and the only RB they've drafted recently that wasn't completely mediocre was sanders, and you can argue that even he really wasn't much better than average and was a product of this OL.

They can't follow this formula as it stands because that would mean letting swift walk and your RB room would be what I said earlier (gainwell, Scott, and a draft pick) which would be awful.

They either have to bring back swift (preferred) or go get one of the other available backs in free agency.

You want to sign Ned Flanders as QB?  The guy couldn't beat out Matt Corral in a straight fight at Ole Miss, transferred to UCF and put up two pretty average seasons, plus his godbothering with his 'my faith this, glory to God that' makes Kurt Warner look like a satanist.

Big nope.
