  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I don’t get it and I never will.

Barrett used to be very good. Now he's a designated pass-rusher at best. Don't think he has much left, but he did play last year off a torn achilles. He might regain a bit more juice with another year under his belt.

He'll want too much $$ but would be a nice addition if Sweat and Reddick stay as well.  Not a great player but the three of them would be a nice rotation.  Not great, but good.

If we give him a 3 year deal thats not bad.

For all of the faux stuff about AJ Brown. Russell Wilson has taken a great dig at Sean Payton overnight.

Payton and Wilson deserve each other for just being so unlikeable people.

Howie and Nick will have press conference today about 1:30 according to GMF.

Going from one of the best LB corps of NFL playoff teams to potentially a rebuild.  Barrett gone, White and David are UFAs.

Would be pretty stoked if this one panned out:

I bet they re-sign David. White is no loss. They benched him.

It’s been discussed incessantly, but the bottom line is the end zone belongs to the defense. If you lose possession of the ball there, it should be awarded to the defense.

I didn't see their name on it....

C- You didn't draft a QB in the top 100 picks.  Also passing up Kool-Aid in the first was a bad move.

Those are pretty damning accusations, but this all makes sense.  This is what's going to happen in this era of QBs getting guaranteed deals.  They want to move on from Russ, but his contract makes that very difficult.  I read that it's $86 mil cap hit split across two seasons?  Oof.  Can they get rid of him on a technicality?

Funny enough, Russ has a no trade clause.  He could absolutely call Payton and the Broncos bluff by declining every trade.

EDIT: And oh yeah, remember Ciara didn't want him to come to Philly?  Did we luck out there or what!?

I don't know if they were on of the best last season.

It's the exact reason why fully guaranteed contracts are bad for the NFL but seeing as it's Payton and Wilson finger pointing, it's entertaining in how it's so passive aggressive.

The Broncos have gone through an Owner and Coach change, so one man's treasure is now another man's trash.  The conduct part seems to be the out that they needed, but Wilson or his reps are too seasoned for that nonsense to work.  it's a 85 million dead cap charge on a team that is 14 million over the cap if Wilson is released, so a prime example of why overpaying a QB and guaranteeing it won't work.  It's a millstone around that teams neck.

And the fact his wife didn't want anything to do with Philly only adds the cherry on the sundae. The other question is, who will trade for that weirdo after his Bronco years?

Reddick isn’t too old to be with that contract. However, I feel like we could add a decent handful of DEs and linebackers for that price and have a much better rotation to stay fresher, for longer and get younger as a roster. We spent the first on Nolan Smith last year so let’s just say he is a part of a tandem that "replaces” Reddick.

Adding some combination of Chase Young, Josh Uche, Marcus Davenport, Yetur Gross-Matos, Emmanuel Ogbah, Devin White, Isaiah Simmons, Jerome Baker, Josey Jewel, Kenneth Murray, or Willie Gay, and then supplementing them with solid vets like Z’Darius Smith or Jadavion Clowney for pass rush downs if they’re looking for contender paycuts.

Just being creative with our roster and its youth/depth going to be key. I feel like we got Reddick at a steal of a price similar to Javon Hargrave, when his contract is up we can move on and grab a comp pick. Restructure his contract for next season to pay him more, and be done when he’s 30 going into 31 and grab a comp pick.

Depends on if they’re playing at home.

I still wonder if he would pay CB or S here.

I expect a few moves to be announced after the press conferences today.

That’s probably how the cap increase works for the Eagles too. It allows us to take out medicine with Bradberry a little easier while extending Smith and Dickerson and targeting a mid-level FA or two or maybe one big fish.

There’s always going to be some restructures too. I think the Eagles will have enough money to do whatever they need to within reason. I think they’ll probably add a CB, Safety, LB, RB and maybe a backup QB of varying quality. The LB class isn’t great so that’ll probably be one they skimp on again or possibly address via trade. As always it depends on who’s available and who’s tagged. I think they’re going to chase someone of significance to improve this defense for Fangio. You don’t bring a guy of his stature in and tell him to deal with trash in the back 7.
