  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

The Texans have an edge rusher that's going to be a free agent.  I think his name is Derek Barnett?  He had a pretty strong end of the season last year.  I wonder what he'd look like as an Eagle?

Just draft an LB with a top 50 pick. This doesn't have to be hard.

You need a veteran linebacker better than Cunningham. Can’t go into the season with Dean and a rookie. They should actually sign a good competent LB and also draft one in the 2-3rd round

Frankly think baseball and the nfl should do it. Baseball got rid of the august waiver trades. And the nfl moved to an extra game and added an extra playoff team so it likely would be better to push it back to week 11-12

Agree on Queen. He and Stone to me are no-no's. TJ Edwards is an objectively better LB than Queen and Queen will get paid substantially more than Edwards got. Queen would be paying top dollar for a slightly above average LB who played in a great defense. Remember a year ago he was considered a bust.

I like Stone and am not surprised he produced when he got a chance to play.

Keep on mind he got all those INTs on limited snaps.

I've been putting up youtubes of Big Backs who are generally UDFA level.  The Eagles need a Big Back.  There are better ones than these.  Derrick Henry.  Saquon Barkley.  AJ Dillon.  Gus Edwards.   The Eagles lost games last year due to the lack of a big back.  Big Backs are available as UDFAs but for the most part,  Big Backs don't run 4.4 40s and if they do,  they are generally not available as UDFAs.  Braelon Allen won't be a UDFA.  Ben VanSumeren, Michigan Fullback,  Michigan State LB,  Eagles LB, was a rare big back who ran a 4.4 40.

Some of these big backs are a bit more interesting than others.   Here's an interesting one.

Rutgers QB Johnny Langan.  Mostly QB,  then TE.   Most of his highlights were as Rutgers QB,  power running between the tackles.  Was 6'2 235, now 6'2 245.

"HIGH SCHOOL: Named the 2017 New Jersey Player of the Year by News 12 after leading Bergen Catholic to their first Non-Public, Group 4 state championship since 2004 … played for head coach Nunzio Campanile at Bergen Catholic … passed for 2,103 yards and 23 touchdowns to go along with 825 yards rushing and 12 rushing touchdowns"

So, with Bergen Catholic, NJ player of the year,  and Rutgers,  he's local.

25 minutes of Rutgers highlights.  starts at QB,  ends at TE, and most of the highlights are of him getting extra yards running, because he's big.  The Eagles didn't have one of those last year.  Size and speed,  he's similar to Stoll and Calcaterra.  But Langan can run and throw and catch and block and Stoll and Calcaterra haven't shown run or throw.  Again, I'm looking for UDFA,  free players basically, guys who could make the 53 or make the practice squad, or not, no big deal.

Most of the big backs I've seen weren't QBs in college, don't have that extra versatility.

OK. Howie is the problem.

June 1st, 2024- Howie "we want to thank James Bradberry for his outstanding commitment to the Philadelphia Eagles.  We both feel it's in the best interest of James and the Eagles to part ways at this time......."

If they are going to do it, it will be in the next two weeks. No way they carry him until June 1st.
