I'm just saying it will happen sooner rather than later if it does.

Ours don’t care about football just clicks.

This will be 2020 all over again

Not really. They were pom-pom kool aid questions about Shane Steichen and Kirby Smart that brought nothing to the table.

With that said, none of the questions were good.

They always play it safe and non-committal while praising the players. If a player is under contract, they're not going to say they're going to cut him to the media. Reddick is in a negotiation state, Bradberry under contract. He's not going to say "yeah we're going to cut Bradberry."

You have to watch for what actions take place. In the past they've stated public support for players before cutting or trading them.

Howie: last year they made a conscious decision to put more resources into offense and knew they were losing some guys on defense. Looking back, they miss some of those guys, that starts with me. Opportunity to improve everywhere.

If you look at defense, a lot of young players at DT so is that a priority area over others, probably not. But that's also an important position, so won't be in position to turn down a guy just because they have resources there already because we believe in the D line so much. (Likely smoke screen language, this place will riot if they draft another DT in the 1st)

It's really just going to be Moore's offense + the tush push.

Likely holds on to him until June 1... then he's gone, unless he wants to be a nice guy and let him seek employment elsewhere sooner and they cut bait as soon as they realize there is absolutely no trade market for him.   Though, he's fairly cheap for any acquiring team in a trade (only $1.25M in base salary), which would likely be cheaper than signing him off the street.   So, maybe he can squeeze a conditional pick out of someone, especially post-draft when they might have missed on the position in the draft.   Maybe they can get the pick they gave away for Alex O back.

Siri on Hurts being a more vocal leader: everyone has to lead in their own way whether that's loud and aggressive or by example or a mix of both. Jalen has special qualities that people will follow, has to lead in his way. That's leadership: being who you are and leading by example. He's done a great job of leading.

Depends on how many other players they are going to designate as a post-June 1 cut.

Always thought this was a possibility. This would be a blow, as it seems most top DBs will be tagged.

Howie on Bradberry also indicated he belongs on the outside and how he was used impacted his performance.

Yes.  He was also bad on the outside though.   Its not just a matter of WHERE he was playing, it was THAT he was playing.

Obviously they aren't going to say they are going to cut him.

The answer before "he's under contract, he's part of our plans" was about his role on defense, and it sounded like to me they have a role in mind for him. He very likely could be just blowing smoke up everyone's asses but when he talks about how he's going to focus on being outside and they don't want to rely on him playing slot like they did the year before, it was somewhat interesting in my opinion.

And for all the "there's no way they" crowd, I've heard "there's no way they pick up Barnett's option" just for them to do it. Then it was "ok, now there's no way they bring back Barnett" and they brought him back for two more years. Similar happened to Agholor and Dillard. We'll see what happens.

I agree, I hope they cut him.

They don't really ever operate that way. If they have no plans for the player they get rid of them sooner rather than later so they can find a deal somewhere else before all the waves of FA and the draft end. He's also the biggest contract hurdle of possible cuts so I don't see why he wouldn't be one of the two designations.

I agree, I was just mainly saying you can't base it on what they say in a press conference. That goes both ways. They may retain Reddick. People have suggested Cox would be gone for several years and he keeps returning. Bradberry could be back, could be cut we'll see.

The first question about Bradberry was is he an outside guy, Howie said he's more outside, talked about his success there and then tough to ask him to do something different. Then follow up he was asked if he's in their plans, and this was the last question. Howie was talking away from the mic and trailed off and quickly said without any enthusiasm "Yeah, he's under contract, in our plans" and left. It wasn't enthusiastic or anything, not really much to read into either way. He's under contract so he's not going to say anything different.

In general, I hope they address the main things in early free agency and draft. Signing guys in August is fine if you need depth or there are major injury issues, but I hope the "answer" at certain positions isn't waiting until an August signing.

Target a CB in the draft.
