Looking at the Eagles needs and what this free agent class will look like once the tags are applied, I wonder if Howie will be more active in the trade market than free agency. Justin Simmons is a guy I wonder if they'll be in on. Knows Fangio, still very good. Ideally I think they'd prefer someone younger, but if it's between trading for Justin Simmons or say overpaying for someone who isn't as good as Simmons, but is younger, would they just prefer the better player?

Interesting phrasing from Siri about improving after what happened last year. He talked about improving, evaluating everything, blah blah then:  "We're not very far removed from having one of the best cultures that any of us have ever been around. Just some tweaks we have to do."  Makes it sound like the felt they didn't have the culture he wanted.

Kind of need to know sooner than later IMO. There are moves that might have to be made based directly to what each player does. If you say the important thing is neither player ever wears another teams colors, you're pretty much saying, name your price to stay an Eagle.

Target a CB in the draft.

And/or Johnson for the right price.

Siri on AJ Brown: one of the best players and leaders, that's why he wears a C on his chest. On speculation about him yelling on the sideline: sometimes leading you're yelling and motivating, sometimes you put your arm around them, some people it's somewhere in the middle. That's also leadership, figuring out what buttons to press with different guys. AJ understand that. He's a great teammate, great person. Says he's the best receiver the Eagles have ever had (grew up a Mike Quick fan and watched other Eagles receivers).

Siri on Reddick: made the playoffs with his contributions the last couple years, hope he's an Eagle. (Short answer, but his tone was positive).

A center for ants, obviously.

But in all seriousness…

Which makes the better tattoo:

This:

Create a hyper-realistic image of a heart-shaped tattoo featuring the initials CJGJ intertwined within the design. The tattoo should also incorporate a vibrant green eagle, with its wings spread wide, adding a dynamic element to the composition. This combination should blend seamlessly, with the eagle appearing to be an integral part of the heart shape, rather than an afterthought. The tattoo should have a depth and texture that suggests it's inked on skin, with the colors vivid and the details sharp to convey a sense of realism.

or

Create a hyper-realistic image of a heart-shaped tattoo, incorporating the initials CJGJ inside the heart. Above the heart, there is a detailed, majestic green eagle spreading its wings, with its feathers intricately designed showing various shades of green. The tattoo is on a skin-like texture background to enhance the realism of the design, showcasing the artistry and precision in the tattooing process. The heart and the eagle are designed with sharp, clear lines and the colors are vibrant, making the tattoo stand out against the skin-toned background.

Okay, actually, I have to mention this again. This had layers. Forget maybe the most creative troll job. It was the most creative troll job. I thought it was a photoshop, but no, when the pictures go down you can see this crap was AI generated LMAO from the alt text left behind. I'm dying.

Honestly, kudos. If this was old EMB, might have been Turkey Hill Post of the Year, if I remember how they used to call it. Lol.

He started off that answer talking about their running success over previous seasons and that they can be successful with different RBs. He also went on to say that you can get RBs in free agency, the draft, undrafted free agency, there are options. Nick needs to learn from Howie to just praise the player and move on.

TE2 and then draft Goedert's replacement. Stoll and Calcaterra can walk. Albert O can waste a roster spot again.

Keep it up and this will be my next tattoo:

Design a tattoo that features the text 'AmericanEagle 77' in a prominent, stylish font. Include a heart as the central image, surrounded by a unique green-colored cupid character that has eagles' wings and a beak instead of a traditional human face. The cupid should appear to be in motion, perhaps aiming an arrow, with the heart in the background. The overall style should be cohesive and suitable for a tattoo, with a balance between the text and imagery to create a harmonious and eye-catching design.

Dean and VanSumeren

If Cunningham is still there, there's even more.

The Eagles have a lot of picks at the end of the 5th / beginning of the 6th.   Is there a versatile freakbeast available at 5th/6th?

Not really, they have replacements for both already on the roster. Jurgens for Kelce and Carter for Cox. They'll need depth but it's not like we'll need to scramble for a starter

No chance they bring him back.

Unless they enjoy seeing him get burnt in coverage.

This is clear on Devonta, which I like

If Kelce comes back, I don't want Jurgens at RG again. He's not built for it. He was OK this year but was a clear weak link. My hope is Steen takes a big year 2 leap and is ready to take over RG. If that happens, then you have a 2nd round pick on the bench in year 3 though.

I really think Kelce just needs to walk away. The Eagles drafted their OL of the future in 3 consecutive drafts with Dickerson, Jurgens and Steen. We know what Dickerson is and he's going to get paid. We have no idea what Jurgens is and if he's at RG again for 2024, his last year of his rookie deal in 2025 will see him never playing a snap at the position he was brought here for. Steen has the size the Eagles love at RG. He's got Brandon Brooks size and that would be a big plus compared to Jurgens last year.

So an unproven UDFA and Dean is a good plan? That would be a disaster heading into next season.  Shirley, you can't be serious.

I think this will be the theme of the off-season. More depth and solid role specific players than big splashes on a couple of guys.

Not sure if anyone saw it but there was a report that Eagles coaches were very hard on younger players when they made mistakes but wouldn't say a word to veteran players even when they made obvious mistakes on film.  Apparently that didn't fly with many on the team.

As a UGA alum, I really want to see Dean excel. But I'm beginning to worry that his size and injury history might prevent him from taking the next step. VanSumeren is a wildcard. Not sure what to make of his potential.

Fangio's D needs some proven LBs to work. Would be apprehensive going in to next season with a redux of Cunningham, Dean, and VS.

Yea, there was a quote this morning about a broken locker room. I have a hard time believing the Eagles just snap out of that and come back all Rah Rah for Sirianni.

Uh no. He's an All Pro and the heart of this team. He stays as long as he wants.

I think Kelce is waiting to see what they do in FA and trades.

If they upgrade the defense especially and add an impact player or 2 then there's a good chance he will come back.

He isn't going to come back if the defense isn't good enough.  He wants a SB opportunity or he'll retire.

His injuries this season were in his feet. I’m not sure how you get that taken care of, but I’m not sure his size is stopping him from doing anything. I think he has really good instincts and would love to see what he can put together in a full-ish season. I would love to see him blitzed more too.

I wonder how much Jerome Baker would cost.

^^^ This.

Andy back in the day was a big fan of getting competition - I don't know that we need a big free agent signings, we need to draft some guys high, sign some mid free agents, and hope that someone bubbles to the top.
