I kind of think the most likely solution is he plays this year out. They give him some extra money like the cardinals did with Buddha baker last offseason. I’d do a 3 year extension. I think he’s likely still good the next 3 years anyway and likely cutting or moving on after 2-3 years.

Yeah, I'd do a "three" year extension which is really only 2 years. So he's cut after the 2026 season and we move on.

I find it hard to believe that he'd get better on the open market given his age.

Zach Wilson is the Jordan Poole of the NFL lol. Just flat out sucks

So he'd cost $5.4mm for a team to acquire him in salary cap. I don't think anyone even throws them a 6th or 7th with that contract.

This is gonna be like an NBA trade.  Salary dump trade.  We'll take Zach Wilson and your 4th round pick and we'll give you a bag of peanuts.  Deal?

Way :offtopic:.

I have, on occasion, plugged Vietnam Restaurant on 11th St and the Vietnam Cafe in West Philly at 47th and Baltimore, and spoken highly of the Lai family that owns them. Benny and Tammy Lai are among the nicest people you could ever meet and their food is terrific. (Benny's younger sister, Tina, is married to Jeffrey Lurie so there is an Eagle connection.)

Anyway, today I am thrilled to learn that they have just won a James Beard award.

Great spot. Order takeout from the 11th street location regularly.

Yeah i don’t think he will either. I think he would get a 3 year extension anywhere he goes. I’d do a 3 year extension as well. Have a feeling the eagles made a decision if we can sign sweat or Reddick. I think they are choosing sweat. But I’d love to be proven wrong

I can’t believe they didn’t sign a veteran like Flacco or make low cost trade once Rodgers went down. Completely wasted a season for nothing.

Nick Foles was just sitting there.

Well, I'd trade one of our 5th round comp picks for Wilson and the Jets 3rd. But no chance they bite the bullet and do that.

Only NFL trade I remember like that was Osweiler.

Definitely not. Will be easier to get a CB in the draft than replace Reddick. Could just draft a CB.

I'm not saying they are the same but it's something to at least compare to.

Haason Reddick will be 30 this year (September). He had 11 sacks last year at 29.

Robert Quinn had 18.5 sacks when he was 31 and the Eagles traded a 4th rounder for him when he was 32 when his sack count was at 1.

I think a a 3rd and conditional 5th gets it done.

Absolutely not, it would be very uncharacteristic of Howie to lose a trade that badly. That is a God awful return for a premier edge rusher. The eagles aren't going to get what Reddick is worth (at the very least a single 2nd round pick), so they won't move him. Throw him some extra money this season and he can test FA next year

Talib too. He was on IR and traded to the Dolphins as a salary dump. Then became a FA and retired and never played for them.

What's your favorite dish to order?

Really enjoy Vietnamese food.

I've eaten everything on their menu at one time or another. My wife and I have had many meals there, easily over a hundred.

Starting with their drinks, they make a superb martini (Absolut is my favorite) and their flamingo volcano is my wife's favorite.

The BBQ platter is a great starter for a table for three or four - you get a broad range of stuff.  I like their beef carpaccio (vietnamese beef tartar). Fish in a clay pot is a favorite, as are the meatballs in rice paper. The House Special Bun is terrific. I think they call it something in rice vermicelli but I order it the same way I ordered it 20 years ago. And their corn pudding and vietnamese coffee (with condensed milk) are addictive.

We'll be going there Saturday, I think.

Apparently Sneed isn't a great fit for Fangio's defense, neither is Antoine Winfield jr. If some of the best players in the league don't fit in his defense that's pretty bad. I don't want a defense where the best players "don't fit" in.

Don't think the Eagles would take any less than a 2nd+.

Why would they. Reddick is under contract for this year.  Unless someone offers a premium, given that the cap is mostly dead money, why trade him for less.  Agent is trying to leverage and Howie knows what was or wasn’t offered.   Josina doesn’t.  Howie said all the right things at the presser  current CBA punishes holdouts so Reddick plays or doesn’t and at thirty, tanking his play going into free agency isn’t an option.  Howie also knows what he will likely do in free agency next year and the comp pick impact (unlikely this year).

BG had 3 sacks last year but I understand the point you're making. Khalil Mack had 17 sacks last year at 32. It's case by case but the Eagles luck with old players just hasn't been that great. In all honesty, BG shouldn't be back this year either but they are letting him do his Rolling Stones tour. I'd welcome Fletcher Cox back because they have a need at DT. I'd much rather the Eagles young players actually develop so they don't have to depend on 30+ year old guys but as we've discussed, they can't develop players.

Need at DT?  They have Carter, Davis, Williams, Marlon T., Ojomo and Booker and Elliss on future contracts.

They may well still keep Reddick. Theyre pretty close on money and seem to agree on years. No reason why it couldnt get done.

At the same time, it should come as no surprise that teams are interested in trading for him. Today's "news" isnt really news.

It'll get done. Get rid of Sweat after

Half these guys are just names, not players.  And Davis has yet to play 50% of the snaps.

Meanwhile, they have needs at EDGE, LB, S and CB.  The defense is an abyss currently.
