I’m probably going to die alone on this hill, but there’s something about this guy that I wouldn’t be comfortable investing the #1 overall pick in

He comes across as a massive 🍆 and while he clearly is uber talented, he's not a can't miss prospect.  Another less talented QB from this class could well turn out to be the better pro QB.

I get Ryan Leaf vibes

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

He wouldn't pay more money. He'd probably sign for like one year 5 million, which would be substantially less than they offered him a year ago.

So the guy who was offended at the low offer one year ago is going to come back with his tail between his legs for even less? Yea, that doesn't make sense.

If it's the best deal on the table. The best offer he got last year once the Eagles pulled their offer was one year 6.5 million. And that was coming off a pro bowl season.

He'll sign with the team that gives him the best deal + best opportunity to play or make more money. If that's the Eagles, then I think he'll sign with the Eagles.

Not sure why the Eagles/CJGJ would work this time around. He was hurt most of the year. Why would Howie be inclined to pay any more money than he already offered to a guy whose now 1 year older and missed most of the season?

Not that I love CJGJ and not sure I want him back. but he has more attitude than the rest of our back 7 combined.  He gets mad.  He talks sh-t.  He can make plays.  Our D needs some of that.

They could sure use a guy like that but his attitude is the big hurdle, imo. He left here trashing the defense and coordinator (he had a point, but still), trashed the city and took shots at the FO. If the Eagles came to him with a good offer that could change things, but I don't see the Eagles doing that and I don't see him being humble enough to come back for cheap just because. He'll do what he did last year, take a similar offer somewhere else.

Also CJGJ/Fangio sounds like a problem waiting to happen

Sydney Brown has some of that

Roman Wilson

Now, after years of being known for his speed, Wilson is hoping to make a statement at the NFL Combine in the 40-yard dash.

"Right now I think I'm gonna get a low 4.3,” Wilson said of his expectations. "But you know, I'm really trying to get a 4.2, just being humble to say low 4.3s.”

Wilson said he hasn’t run a true 40 yet while training at House of Athlete in Tampa, Florida, but that his 10-yard split has consistently been in the 1.45-second range.

"So I feel very, very confident in that,” he  said.

Guess we lost that trade.  Good that we're going to free up some good cap space though

Add it to the list of failed in-season trades.

Typical overreaction to a failed plan.

Howie's trade deadline trades are just not good. Jay Ajayi was traded earlier in the season and is basically the exception. Lots of trades that weren't worth it.

At safety I actually like Blankenship and Brown...paired with an experienced veteran who can still play and not washed up. Byard had experience and could probably help with film study, preparation and things like that for the young guys. I understand the gamble given they had injuries, but he was washed up. I don't know the safety free agent market but adding a decent veteran to that group would be nice.

I heard Kevin Byard will be available.

I'm curious if the Eagles are making it mandatory that Blankenship starts next season. Or would they be open to an upgrade if it presents itself and works for them.

I think he's decent. But you can also do a lot better.

There going to have add at least 2 safeties in FA. Probably need a 3rd one too either through vet min or draft. The question is do they want to put significant resources in a guy like Curl or McKinney who would be penciled in as a starter for multiple years or do they just want to band-aid the position for a year and hope to hand the reigns eventually to Brown/Blankenship.

Given the importance of S in a Fangio scheme, I'm guessing they add a high profile guy and also a band aid option for 2024.

I want us to go after McKinney in FA for Safety.

I think Curl is the way to go and might be cheaper, but would be happy with either.

Curl is my #1. I wouldn’t mind bringing in Chinn as well.

Either or for me, though I have Curl just slightly ahead. Dugger would be third on the list. I'm totally fine with any of the 3 though, no complaints over here :D

Howie playing 4D chess again.

Who was the last Eagle to tear their ACL before Sydney Brown? Was it Derek Barnett in 2022?

He had his surgery on January 19. Realistically, it's a 9 month recovery. He might not be ready to roll until October and chances are he starts the season on PUP.

The Eagles have Reed Blankenship and that's it. He's a starter by default...again. They didn't challenge him last year and this year they are going to have to do all they can just to field 4 safeties.  That means Howie has to hit on 2 FA signings and a draft pick just to have enough for opening day. It leaves little to no room for error here.

There's a good chance the Eagles try to sell us on Mekhi Garner or Tristin McCollum as up and coming UDFA gems.
