  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Him or Arnold are the main two guys I want with 22 or a small trade up. We're not getting Johnson or Sneed in FA so corner is my number 1 target in the draft.

Guy would have been really good if he could stay healthy. Probably too pricey for TE2 although I would take one year of him over Albert O if contracts were the same.

What is the benefit in it?

There really isn’t this offseason. They just shouldn’t have signed him to an extension last year

Its a pretty universally accepted opinion that it is "Easy" to find RBs, and you can get a starter in the mid-late rounds of the draft. So Im not sure if the resources argument holds much weight relative to the argument about this position specifically.

I think you can make that argument for pro bowl talents at RB. While you can get a later round guy in there, most commonly they seem to be 1st-2nd rounders.

But as far as finding a successful RB, they should have been able to do better than they have with those picks.

The last 3 really good backs they have had- McCoy, Sanders, Swift- are all 1-2 rounders. The eagles need to be better at hitting on the mid-late round RB picks. Its supposed to be easy.

I would argue that Gainwell and Scott were pretty good value for where they were picked (5 for Gainwell) (Saints’ 6 but a PS poach for Scott).  Would you rather spend a 1 on Edwards-Helaire to luck into a Pacheco?  Eagles have hit on upper round RBs too.

Also, he's a decent CB.

Yea, decent. Not worth what he's getting and paid and not as good as he thinks he is

I didn’t think Mitchell would fall to 22 but that 4.33 probably sealed it.

Gonzalez fell to 17 last year.  I think there's some teams that will have him as their third CB.

Welp - it costs too much to cut him so he stays.

I'd argue the only upper round RBs they've actually hit on were Westbrook and Shady. Miles Sanders was just ok, moreso a product of an elite line than an actual good back as evidenced by his year in Carolina. Definitely not worth a second round pick

Future Eagle Quinyon Mitchell.

Eskin said keep an eye out for CJGJ coming back to the Eagles in free agency.

All for bringing him back, didn't want him to go in the first place. However, he might have burned that bridge with his comments after he left.

You should always have character concerns if you chose to go to A&M.

Hey, I went to A&M as a freshman. Of course, in Texas the alumni associations are Texas Exes and Former Aggies, with the Aggie saying being there is no such thing as a former Aggie.  I am living proof that there is. Interesting experience but one year was enough.

Who was the last Eagle to tear their ACL before Sydney Brown? Was it Derek Barnett in 2022?

He had his surgery on January 19. Realistically, it's a 9 month recovery. He might not be ready to roll until October and chances are he starts the season on PUP.

The Eagles have Reed Blankenship and that's it. He's a starter by default...again. They didn't challenge him last year and this year they are going to have to do all they can just to field 4 safeties.  That means Howie has to hit on 2 FA signings and a draft pick just to have enough for opening day. It leaves little to no room for error here.

There's a good chance the Eagles try to sell us on Mekhi Garner or Tristin McCollum as up and coming UDFA gems.

I like McCollum.  As back up FS/ potential #3 S.  But not as a starter at this point.

Terrion Arnold had an ongoing Kobe Bryant competition with Milroe to see who would arrive at the facility first every day.

Milroe eventually won when he arrived at 3:30am. Arnold said he needed at least some sleep.

Arnold has elite speed. Got tested because Kool-Aid already made a name for himself and didn't get thrown at.  Arnold proved to be an elite cover guy.

Exceptional hard worker.  There is probably no weakness that he has that can't be fixed. He will work hard and fix anything.

He may be the first CB taken.

In spite of Quinyon Mitchell looking like a star all through the pre-draft process.  In spite of Wiggins running a 4.2 while pulling a groin. Wiggins is that fast,  and physical. He is probably my top.

But for any of those guys to drop to our pick,  it will be a blessing. I'll take absolutely any of them.

As well as Kool-Aid and DeJean.

Slot

We need 1 of Mitchell, Wiggins, or Arnold.

Trade up as always.

I'm on the road for basketball playoffs.

just saw- so much for arnolds elite speed. 4.50

Don't mind the 4.50 at all for Cam Hart and khyree Jackson.  6'3" and 6'4" with 33+" arms. 4.50 is more than adequate for physical CBs with that length.

It looks like Arnold and Renardo Green are almost clones.

Kalen King has had a disastrous offseason. A 4.6 40 after getting toasted all week at the Senior Bowl? Yikes.

I am concerned he will be too healthy to replace Maddox.

Two months til the draft, but I'd still be shocked if the Eagles don't take CB or OT at 22. That may change if Reddick is traded, which is in part the reason I don't want to trade him, you're just creating a major need for yourself when there looks to be very good CBs and OTs going to be available at 22. But I'd be stunned if it wasn't one of those 2 or 3 positions.
