Wouldn’t he need to reach out to potential coordinators to present the plan today? This doesn’t mean he is back.

Sounds to me like Sirianni did what he had to do to keep his job. What does that entail? Obviously cleaning house on the defensive side. How much on the offensive side? Is he relinquishing authority over the offensive game plan?

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Howie Roseman reaching out to folks is definitely cringey though. Not at all surprising.

I think he was given the Doug offer of you can keep your job but fire your staff and we get new coordinators in.

More than likely.

Sirianni 10 minutes later banging the phones looking for new coaches.

This sucks.

Probably had to agree to bring in a new offensive system of some sorts is my guess.

Yep, he wastes no time turning on his staff.

Best coaching cycle of candidates I can remember in a long time and they’re sticking with this bozo. It’s really hard to care about anything they do this off-season if this holds up.

People worry about optics if Lurie fires Siri, what HC would want to come here?

Well can't you say the same about coordinators?  The team collapsed, the head coach made no changes except swapping DC and that made the defense worse.  If Siri comes back and they fire both coordinators which they did with Doug...then can't you say the same about potential coordinators not wanting to come here?

If Siri insists it's been his offense, then why fire BJ?  If BJ was the problem, then what was Siri doing about it all year?

Plus if the next up and coming OC takes this job and does well, he'll get hired away like Steichen did.

Whomever they hire as DC, I hope he tells Howie that any idea of hiring a rehabbing DC as an "analyst” should he shoved directly up his arse.

Nailed my bonus prediction for the game.

Juan Castillo for Dc!!!

Does the fact that an emasculated Sirianni will be on an obvious hot seat next year hurt theor ability to bring in quality coordinators or help it?  On one hand, might be looking for a new job in a year.  On the other you might have your foot in the door to replace him.

Potentially. They better find someone who has experience calling plays or it’s a waste of a year again. We need a whole new scheme on defense. No more Fangio.

Lurie pays very, very well. So hopefully the money talks with potential coordinators. Go get Nielsen.

Great, this really invokes a ton of confidence. We are looking for yes men, offensive guys that will agree to not run the ball and defensive guys that run soft shell schemes with no linebackers and safeties. Who wants in?!

That may all be true but if Sirianni is not gonna call plays and you’re an up-and-coming assistant that can become an OC and parlay that into a future head coaching job that’s what matters. You’re gonna get a chance to call plays. Most OCs with an offensive head coach don’t get that opportunity. That’s what makes the OC job attractive. Granted not sure you want a young OC  we just saw what happened with year one Brian Johnson

If they end up keeping Sirianni I feel for him of sorts.   First bad home loss next season and he will get booed out of town.   It won’t be pretty if they start off the way they finished, that’s for sure.

He will have a target the size of the Goodyear Blimp on his back all next season.  Sheesh.

why is always have to wait for everything to crash and burn then make a change? what's the freaking point? you are telling us to buy tickets to watch this trash? are you serious? it tells us you dont want to win, you dont care about the fans, you only care about is your ego.

Worst part is that this will more than likely fail miserably and they will end up wasting another season with a very talented roster.  The window will be one year shorter. SMH.

Potential Defensive Coordinators: just saw them demote Desai and go with Patricia and the defense got worse.  If they're both fired - or one of them stays as a "Senior Defensive Assistant" looking over their shoulder -- who the hell wants that job?  You would get a position coach just taking the opportunity for a promotion.

An experienced DC would either not want any part of that drama and mess, or he would see the garbage in the back 7 and say I'm not coming here unless you commit to getting actual NFL quality LBs and secondary, and I'm running a better scheme you won't tell me how to run things.

We aren't the only ones getting bad news tonight.

And the Eagles will, without question, lose fan support after this.

Get ready for the Phillies to become the top team in the city if they make another deep run.

Would Rivera be all that bad? Steady influence. Solid results. No fear of him getting poached.
