I dunno, I'm tempted to get a WR as early as they can with this talent and speed.

I really expected Troy Franklin to have DeSean Jackson speed. At 6'2'' a 4.41 is not bad at all. He really seems to have that gliding easy deep speed on tape. And I think he will be there in round 2.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Second round is where its at

Pearsall, McConkey, or Troy Franklin, or Brendan Rice in round 2. Big time.

the NFL combine results page shows 5'11''. Height aside, youre missing the key point that he is 165lbs. Hes tiny, and was a 1 trick pony at Texas.

He may be so good at that trick it wont matter much. But I have trouble accepting him as a 1st rounder based on speed alone. As a complete WR, hes a mid-rounder.

People said the same things about DJax (and still do) ….

Return game alone could be worth the risk.  And as the #3 WR with AJ and DeVonta - speed alone should open up the field.

Its going to be key to Kellen Moore's system that incorporates a lot of air Coryell. I really think theyll be adding a speed WR this year whether through free agency or the draft.

We know Howie though. He will gamble that one gets pushed down further and try to find value instead of getting the cream of the crop when they are there for the picking.

Jackson was a better WR. Youre getting hyped over a 40 time. Worthy isnt a spectacular WR prospect. Hes just ok, and a good deep threat. Youre talking about Jackson. Someone else said Marquise Goodwin earlier and thats a much better comp.

If NFL types want to buy Javon Baker's 4.5 40, then hes going to be a steal in round 3 or 4. He definitely has long speed, and showed to be an excellent route runner at the senior bowl. I wont be mad if thats who we end up with because defense does have to be addressed early.

Yeah maybe.  I guess we’ll see where he goes.  A lot of scouts had him in the late 2nd round but that was before he ran a 4.21

Eagles could use a 1 trick pony after the 1st of course that can catch. Eagles have 2 complete WRs already. Seems like they have plenty of options though.

Brian Thomas did not disappoint. Wow.

Nice time for Odunze at his size.

Rice will have better GPS data than his time inidcates. But you also dont mind a 4.5 flat at his size. Even though he might be a little faster than that. Probably not much.

Wilson didnt lie. He got 4.3. I think he thought he was going to be faster than 4.39 though. And that doesnt really show on tape. I guess due to the way Michigan plays, not pushing the ball down the field. I wonder if he will be an even better pro if if they route tree opens up for him.

Cant wait for the simulcam of Worthy against Eisen

It feels like every year the WR class is deep.

Just makes it that much more annoying that we had to trade a first away because Howie can't draft one outside of Smitty, who was as close to a sure thing as you can get

Marquise Brown was 5-9, 166 at the combine. He allegedly ran a 4.27 at his pro day.

Not a Franklin fan. Gimme Wilson instead

24.41 MPH

@HazletonEagle and I couldn’t be prouder of 4.39 for Xavier Legette.

He’s got AJ Brown tools with better speed.  Surprised he doesn’t get better separation.  Definitely a bit raw, but I’d take him at #53.

I was also open to Xavier Worthy at 53 but I think that’s flown away in 4.21 seconds

that is insane.

I wanted to point out there is that 23mph that I have read about Brenden Rice before. His 4.50 doesnt make a lot of sense. Hes definitely faster. All of those guys ran faster 40s. 3 of the 4 others were in the 4.3s. Significant difference from his 4.50. And yet, hes right there in the mph data.

Just means he either can’t hold his top speed or he takes a long time to get there.

It either means he takes longer to get up to speed, or he doesn’t hold top speed very long

Yeah. Leggette scares me with route running. And to find out hes not 6'3'' or 6'4'' as listed, but 6'1'' he lost a lot of luster for me.

Im not surprised he doesnt get separation. I started cooling on him when I noticed his rounded routes. THEN he measured in far below what he was listed at.

I'd be cautious even at #53. Im afraid he could be another Treylon Burks situation. Too raw.

Someone might get an AJ Brown. But I wouldnt touch him before the 3rd round. Too many other good WRs size and speed, AND polish.

I think a slower builder.

Don't disrespect AJ like that. Xavier has a long way to go to get to that level.
