theres no trust there yet. how can there be? he couldnt get himself on the field.

Jergens was less than stellar himself. Now youll have those 2 playing next to each other. Far too dangerous to bank on that working out.

You just want to be able to see the jerseys next to each other: Hung Johnson

Wouldn't that be Johnson Hung?

I think Jason would be better on a ManningCast/pre-game show than in the booth. He can show off his personality better.

During his bye week, he was a guest commentator on Thursday Night Football on Prime. I could see him getting offers from multiple networks for a gig like that.

He has already done a lot of varied things while a player, now his time will be freed up to do more. His podcast, charity work, Christmas albums for charity, he started a farm or garden or something (it was in the Prime documentary), recorded the Prime documentary, started a clothing line Underdogs... my wife watched the documentary with me and said "He has ADHD, he has to have so many projects going at once." (She has ADHD too).

I think he will do a number of things. Swifties love him now too. He became known outside football this year in particular. People's Sexiest Man alive finalist as well. He could end up like Strahan and others that are on non-sports networks. Even Shannon Sharpe has his Club Shay Shay podcast where he's talking to various celebrities apart from sports.

As I stated, I don’t like this style of basketball. I was an 90’s NBA fan. You just sound like you are from the Stone Age though lol. Back in the day, most guys didn’t have the speed or athleticism to beat their defender one on one. Dribbling and ball handling are a major part of the game, just like in football, where a receiver has to run a run a route well, not just catch (or the case of basketball, shoot).

yeah, I've been accused of that before.    But, the 3 point line came to the NBA in 1980, so the brand of basketball of the 1990s led to today's game.    The analytics just hadn't caught up, and the players took a while to acclimate to the rule that makes settling for a tougher shot to be a better option.  But, as the generation that grew up with a 3 point line came in to the league (and the NCAA added it in 1986), the game changed.

But, none of what you are saying matters to the game.    Even now, passes move the ball faster than dribbling.    Dribbling and ball handling are a major part of the game.  So is passing, but the passing has greatly decreased in effectiveness and the game has become much more of a 1 on 1 contest with 4 other guys standing around and watching.  Imagine if the NFL stopped route combinations and just asked their WR to beat the DB one on one constantly... it wouldn't be nearly as good a game.    In fact, that seems very much like the type of offense the Eagles tried to run last season.   And it was garbage.

I feel confident that Jurgens will be a better C than guard. He's not the most powerful guy, but that doesn't show up at C as much even if he gets nosed up (there are less 350lbs DTs anyway).

RG should be Steen vs. a draft pick. Don't need to sign an OL unless it's backup OT

He said Cam at C and Robert at RG...

Not only tank top, but the sandals. 100% on brand.

Do players normally do this much for a retirement? This is like a HOF speech.

Mike Schmidt had a similar PC, but that was in season.

I think it depends on the player, and the team's regard for that player... and whether or not that player WANTS to do that.  Kelce is looking for a career in the media, it seems he's very much interested in being in front of a camera.   Not every player is.   And not every player deserves this type of moment.   This is a rare situation... and it should be.

You haven’t read enough of the thread to understand the argument or the responses to the OP.  No one said Kaitlyn should play men’s basketball.

Men are competing against men, and women are competing against women. We’re talking about the relative competition for each of them in their own generations and genders.  Pistol Pete did his against his competition and Clark did hers against her completion. Both within the set of rules of their time competing against the best possible players in their leagues. This isn’t and has never been a conversation saying women would beat mean at basketball. Thats a lazy take and further seems to devalue and ignore the talent of women’s basketball and sports in general.

Ok.  Then she didn't break Pete's record.    She set a woman's record.   Pete still holds the men's record.   Simple.

Imagine: "This is why I am exited to announce...my candidacy for President of the United States!"

Just over the wire to be eligible.   But, in today's political scene, he's way too young.   We only get to choose between octogenarians these days.

Agreed. Team basketball is much more fun with passing and less iso. It’s also nice when players played defense and had to work for buckets. I’m on your side with all that. I just can’t discount how hard it is to shoot deep 3’s, sometimes with very little room and guys right in their face.  That’s not a skill a lot of players can acquire.

You can blame Curry for the 3 point shooting game and Lebron for making the NBA Charmin soft.

Who are the leaders left on this team? Worried about that, especially after last year’s 180. Also Jurgens/Steen worries me, mainly Steen.

Just retire #62 at the first home game next season (not Brazil, obviously).

"Your guys notions that women’s basketball doesn’t count”?   That is an absurd statement.  No one said that.  What we said is that it is a hell of an accomplishment that she has made, but the record thing doesn’t really fit.

The NCAA seems to be okay with it. She broke the NCAA scoring record for men’s and women’s history. That’s fact. You guys saying it "doesn’t fit or "shouldn’t count” because she’s a woman is devaluing her accomplishment lmao.

There have been 50+ years of collegiate athletes who could’ve broken his record and didn’t, men and women. She’s the first one, and regardless of if it was a man doing it or a woman doing it, she is the new record holder.

Lane, Jalen, AJ, Smitty, Slay, Redick, Siriani

I’m very confident in Jurgens being a good to very good center moving forward. I wish Steen played more last year to learn a bit on the job. Him, Smith and Brown were done no favors in their development last year.

I’m not against drafting someone for depth or insurance, like if the future RT they take has capability of playing RG also like Fautanu if he’s there. But I still think you give him another shot at starting at RG. They drafted him with a high third for a reason, seems weird to disregard him this quick. We weren’t all sold on Seumalo or Dickerson right off the bat, they developed nicely. I feel like patience is key here & I don’t see a reason to sign a new RG in FA or draft someone high with the intention of being the RG for the future.

Lane, Hurts, Slay, and BG/Cox until they retire

Sirianni and Slay lol

We’re in trouble

All reporters say the Eagles love Jurgens. I think he'll be good. If for whatever reason they lost confidence in him they could take Powers Johnson in the first round if they wanted. But I doubt it. I think they like Jurgens a lot and see no reason they'd have lost confidence. He's seasoned for 2 years, Stout loves him, he'll be fine.

The Eagles will still have the best OL in the NFL next season. Just maybe the best marginally instead of by a lot. And they'll keep investing in it.
