I have full confidence in Jurgens.

But we’ve seen how badly our offense regresses without Lane, but never without Kelce. It’ll be interesting to see how they play without him.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

He said Cam at C and Robert at RG...

Yes...which would mean the RG and RT names next to each other would be Hung Johnson.

Agreed. Team basketball is much more fun with passing and less iso. It’s also nice when players played defense and had to work for buckets. I’m on your side with all that. I just can’t discount how hard it is to shoot deep 3’s, sometimes with very little room and guys right in their face.  That’s not a skill a lot of players can acquire.

You can blame Curry for the 3 point shooting game and Lebron for making the NBA Charmin soft.

Of course it's hard.  That was never in question.   The question is... why is it worth more points?    Should a 50+ yard FG be worth 5 points instead of 3 because its harder?       Nonsense.

The 50+ yard FG is a weapon for teams in football, because you can score from a larger space on the field, but it shouldn't give you more points.   Equally, hitting long range FGs in basketball gives the advantage of a large scoring area, but it shouldn't be worth more points than a layup.  A layup is harder to set up and execute... and therefore, should be of no less value than giving up trying to get closer and just setting up shop at the line and waiting for a pass to hit that shot.     If anything, the INTERIOR shots should be worth more points, because they are harder to generate for a basketball team than the long shots.  Just as in football a TD is worth 6 points, while giving up on getting the ball all the way to the goal line and just kicking from where you are is only worth 3.

An inside the park HR isn't worth an extra run because its hard to do.  Nor is an over the fence home run worth an extra run either.   A hockey goal from beyond the blue line isn't worth more than a goal from in close.   A touchdown is a touchdown, regardless of how far out the play originated.

Oh ok. Wasn't even thinking of Lane there lol my mind was strictly trying to figure it out with C and RG

Who are the leaders left on this team? Worried about that, especially after last year’s 180. Also Jurgens/Steen worries me, mainly Steen.

Offense: Hurts, Brown, Smith (quiet leader by example), Dickerson (known as a leader at Alabama), Lane, Mailata

Defense: BG and...?  Rumor is Cox will retire. I think they're more in trouble there. Dean was known as a leader on the Georgia defense, we'll see if he develops that here. Slay probably thinks he's a leader but I don't see that as much. He's too busy arguing with reporters on Twitter and demanding they not call him Darius.

I think Mailata has the personality and voice and to step up in Jasons absence

Dickerson as well, but just a different type of leadership.

Blame analytics and fans for todays league. Has nothing to do with LeBron. Curry helped the boom, but it was on its way.

Most fans don't want to admit the O line was not the best in the NFL this season and they had issues. There were problems in pass protection, and lots of times Hurts was running for his life because the pocket collapsed immediately. Other times they were great. They had ups and downs just like the entire team overall. Mailata, Dickerson and Johnson are great. Stoutland is the best coach in the business. I trust their judgment on Jurgens and Steen, and O line is their best group at scouting, drafting and developing. They will likely add a RG in free agency or draft. It's supposed to be a good O line class, they may draft Lane's eventual replacement as well. They love them drafting some O line.

They need a statue of his mummer's parade speech next to the Philly Special statue.

Why wasn't Travis wearing Eagles gear???????!!!!?

Sad to see a living legend like that hang em up but I get it as a father and a human. But from a fan perspective, I haven't been this bummed out about a retirement since Dawk.

Yea they weren’t the dominant group like we’ve seen in the last. The OL will be a fair question mark going into this season regardless of who they add in FA/draft. I would 100% expect them to go OL in first, especially a project type RT. There’s several OL that could be available at 22, Mims from Georgia/Guyton from Oklahoma seem to be the two I feel most likely get picked as of right now.

Imagine if they paid Dawkins and he was a 100% Eagle in his career.

Eh, the protection issues were more the coaching staff's inability to counter blitzes and teams blitzing the hell out of the Eagles because of inept coaching. Blitzes will get pressure if you don't know how to counter them. It certainly wasn't as good as 2022, but I didn't watch any other team in the NFL have a better line than the Eagles in 2023,.

Plus there were plenty of times when the pocket was good and Hurts bailed early which caused a mess

This and having 3 different designed run plays all season.

I get it and I hate it, thats my fav player

God, Hurts was so bad at that this season. It was a big problem. Need to coach that out of him by September. They are not making a championship run this season as long as he reverts to bailing the pocket.
