The players kind of sucked too... let's not leave their high turnover asses out of the equation. Complete F up all around.

They were bad, but it starts with coaching. At no point did this coaching staff put these players in the best position to succeed. Zero creativity, zero playcalling flow, zero situational awareness. On offense at least. Defense it was a lack of talent which we've been saying all season.

That I'll buy. Lurie is clearly obsessed with having a high flying offense, but that doesn't make sense for the lack of middle of the field plays (short medium and long) and the obsession with WR screens

Exactly.  How on Earth can anyone justify throwing the ball 5.2% of the time to areas where Hurts had a PERFECT 158 passer rating this season?

Come on.  That’s inexcusable.

Holy crap this is great

I only had the patience to watch the plays against NE. 4 throws for MAYBE 7 yards.

Anyone want to take the full 16 minutes and chart this out?

Yeah that's baffling when you have Dallas and AJ. Julio could have ate over the middle too. Hell even Smitty showed he could make people pay over the middle. The WR screens are more suited for Deebo type receivers. Definitely a head scratcher.

That’s so freaking sad.  How on Earth are heads not rolling right now?

Participant for what... the season is over.   We are in the non-playing season now.

Sounds to me like Sirianni did what he had to do to keep his job. What does that entail? Obviously cleaning house on the defensive side. How much on the offensive side? Is he relinquishing authority over the offensive game plan?

They need to bring in different systems with experienced coordinators in order to make a change.  The more I think about something like Bienemy, Reich as the OC, Martindale or Rivera as DC.  It would be nice to have coordinators that have a different personality from Nick.  I want coordinators that coach the players hard and demand attention to detail.

All good points. Maybe I'm too patient.

It's the never-ending debate. Unless a coach has a terrible record for his entire tenure, when is the "right time" to fire a coach who's generally had good records is always a debate amongst fans and analysts. People on Twitter are debating Mike McCarthy right now. Me personally, if I don't consider you a special coach, I think you're wholly replaceable. Nothing to me with Sirianni screams special.

I'd actually be more in his corner even if the team hypothetically won 8 games instead of 11 in 2023 if I felt he was a really bright and innovative offensive mind who called plays and the team just missed the playoffs because he had a crappy defense. But I've seen nothing from him that makes me think they'd miss out on anything with him gone. If they can replace Doug they can replace him.

5.2 % of passes called in the middle of the field.  And y’all wonder why AJ & Goedert are pissed off?  And somehow that’s Hurts’ fault?  lololol

For sure. What's stopping you from replacing the next guy then? What's so special about the next hire? They all sound great on paper right now. Only a couple will probably work out. I guess I'm just willing to stick with the one who got to the Super Bowl. He has a lot of pressure on him next year though.

McCarthy has done wonders with Dak so not a huge surprise there.  Maybe get him some sort of advisor for playoff games.

Hard to answer until I see who the coach is and get my opinions on them first.

Who's some old offensive mind who's available, decent, and won't get poached if he's good?

76ers are going to make a run this year - book it.

The Flyers shocked even me this season but seem like they’re making moves too.

Potential OCs

1. Jim Caldwell (Panthers special advisor)

2. Kellen Moore (Chargers OC)

3. Darrell Bevell (Dolphins passing game coordinator)

4. Klint Kubiak (49ers Passing game coordinator)

5. Greg Roman (took 2023 off)

6. Frank Reich

We are fine here. 🙂

Would Rivera be all that bad? Steady influence. Solid results. No fear of him getting poached.

He’s ancient and his defenses recently have been hot garbage.

Not so fast. We're still alive!

Bienemy comes to mind.  He might go for a co-head coach position here. Bigger/better market than DC, a boatload of more talent on the offensive roster, etc
