There are physical sportsbooks operating in stadiums where it’s legal to take bets during the game. If someone purchased a jersey at the pro shop, the players get a cut of that. They probably just want the same thing with gambling that goes on at the stadiums.

Owners can own 5% of a sportsbook platform under NFL rules.  It is nonsense to believe the ownership group doesn’t have a direct interest in gambling.  Don’t see your point here because that’s basically rent but I think I may understand what the player was getting at.  Huge revenue maker at this point and why shouldn’t the players as a whole have an opportunity at being included in that largesse?  That said, there was an exchange by the owners that have an ownership stake.  Would seem that any player group investment would have to be funded.  After all, the books are using the players performance (likeness) in a whole group of their available bets.  Has a bit of EA NCAA game NIL component to it.  Can’t have players invested individually in the platforms.

Jerome Baker is a good fit. Can obviously play for Fangio. He got hurt, but did have games with a 100% snap share. As he was cut, wouldn't count against comp pick formula.

We don’t need to play the comp pick game this year.

The sportsbook makes money at the stadium. The NFL gets a cut of the money the sportsbook made. Are NFL players getting the 48%, or whatever it is, of revenue sharing from the money the NFL made off the sportsbook?

I agree that he wasn't seen as a direct replacement but I do think they wanted him because he played C and could be a potential replacement.

Value optionality

There are so many safeties available it would be damn near impossible not to get a major upgrade, and one that is young too.

I like savage as an under the radar one. I think in a better system he could be better. Had a bounce back year compared to his previous 2 years

Kind of.  There are multiple paragraphs on including Gambling Revenues within the All Revenues the 48% is derived from but proceeds from the 5% or less ownership of platforms are not included (want to be Jerruh or Kraft charge a competitive rate for their platforms at their stadiums?).  Rent is in All Revenues as are licensing fees but there are carve outs for portions of offseason revenues.  As I suggested, I think Thibodeaux is hinting at that 5% ownership stake given owners can have a relationship with the platforms but individual players cannot.

I would be disappointed if he was the best safety we signed. I think we need a proven player. He did play in a Fangio knockoff system though.

Any interest in Big V as a versatile backup?

They do get a cut.   They get a percentage of the sponsorship money they get from DraftKings and/or FanDuel.

Their gambling related revenue comes from advertisers. So it’s already included. It’s not like sports books are secretly paying the NFL…

Eh. I'd rather they put their faith in Stoutland to develop homegrown young talent instead of bringing in 31 year old.

I think Guyton was an interesting name at one time. But I think his workout takes him out of the reach for an incredible athlete in the 1st round conversation. Because hes not an incredible athlete.

Now Mims is the guy. If enough tackles go ahead of him the eagles wont be able to pass.

And I just learned Mims practiced 60/40 on both sides this year. 60% of snaps at RT, and 40% at LT. So hes gotten plenty of reps on both sides. There will be no question if he can play one side or the other.

Hes huge. Hes a ridiculous athlete. He has R/L versatility. Thats the guy theyll not be able to pass on.

I remember when we said that about RB in a certain draft.

We came away with Donnell Pumphrey.

At least he's homegrown.

And then again with Quez Watkins and John Hightower. What an absolute disaster of a 2020 WR draft that was for the Eagles.

They came away with Jalen Reagor, John Hightower and Quez Watkins, passing on JJ, Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk, Laviska Shenault, Michael Pittman Jr., Gabriel Davis, Darnell Mooney, KJ Osoborne, Donovan Peoples-Jones and others.

Might be the annual Howie LB bandaid signing.

Kylie spent all day yesterday thankful Jason is saving his body from the toils of another NFL season.

What a sucker.

Probably something he's wanted to do for a long time... but wasn't allowed to during his NFL career for contractual reasons.
