  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

He'll probably be back. I don't think there will be a ton of interest in him around the league.

I’m ok with re-signing him, but it’s an excellent nickel class & the Eagles should be looking for their long term nickel in this draft class.

Here's the poster boy for the cap isn't real crowd

We did the right thing.

Howie is always a better GM after a bad season.

I don't want Maddox back, he's made of glass.

One thing that seems weird: We’re only saving $2M in cap space releasing him with a non-June 1. If we re-signed him, are we actually saving money?

This is definitely a stacked nickel rookie  class.

Unless a vet minimum, no.

We might get him for that. Who else is signing him to guarantees?

I’d be shocked if he had to settle for the league minimum.

Saves 2 million

I'd rather designate him for June 1st and not bring him back. That would save 7 million.

But then why release in the first place?  It's only a savings of 2 million unless I'm missing something.  Cut him and bring him back at 1.5?

Maybe cash. I wouldn’t be surprised if they asked him to take a pay cut, he balked, so they are doing the "go out and test the market” routine.

It's likely Bradberry and Cox would get those slotted two designations.

Yeah, that’s what I don’t understand. If they move on, so be it. But to turn around and re-sign him would be weird. I don’t think he’s taking the league minimum and if he would, he’d likely want some incentives built in that if hit would result in a higher cap charge than what we would have had under the original deal.

And he use to play WR

Just a reminder that Isaiah Rodgers has only played 14 slot snaps in his career.

I think they’ll find a new nickel CB on day 2

I really think this is more circumstantial than anything else. They had Kenny Moore move to slot in Nickel and Dime who was one of the best.

We’d have to really sign some good, young pieces in FA for me to be agreeable to drafting a nickel on day 2 (and honestly, I’m talking the comp 3 and not either of our round 2 picks)
