He’ll be 31 in the middle of the season. He’s likely lost a step. Thinking more. I wouldn’t commit to two years for him.

yeah. After looking at stats, I think Im out too. Though I kind of expect him here still.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

I’m still not sure I’m super interested in Simmons. He’ll still want a pretty nice deal so do you want to give him a deal like you just gave to Bradberry to another 31 year old DB? I’d rather give more to someone younger.

I like Simmons a lot but a younger guy is probably my preference. I’d probably rather have Simmons if he can be had for cheaper than give McKinney or Curl a monster contract though.

Simmons is still good and will be an immediate impact player for us.

This safety market is so good the smart move might be to play musical chairs and just pay who is left.

Give me McKinney, Curl, Whitehead, Fuller, Blackmon over Simmons.

I’d probably take Simmons over everyone else provided the money is right.

This rumor truly makes no sense.

I understand the musical chairs sentiment, but they also need the right scheme fits for Fangio. No square pegs into round holes I hope.

This would be Howies "jumping the shark" moment and spell's the beginning of the end.

Death. Taxes. The Eagles interested in a top-tier RB in free agency or the draft.

My favorite is fans thinking the Eagles traded up to #2 overall in 2016 for Zeke.

Wow signing a guy who had one good season as a starter 4 years ago would really bolster Howie's reputation against accusations that he's constantly trying to fill Linebacker and Safety holes with moneyball JAGs.

If the safety market is going to be that depressed, they should honestly sign two. crap bring in CJGJ and one of the other top guys and bump Reed to STs and depth.

Barkley I don’t see as realistic unless his market is awful and Moore really advocates for him in his offense. I’d much rather have Jacobs if they pay a RB, Barkley looks like he lost a step.

Last time a Philly team had a dude named Simmons, it didn't end well.  Pass.

If the market is depressed, it would allow us to be in on the best FAs at safety and LB. I still don’t see us paying up for Queen though.

Bijan  Barkley or bust!

What's wrong with Ryan Mathews?  Dude set career highs for YPC, Rushing TDs, Receiving TDs and recorded his longest run in Eagles green!

I don’t see the Eagles signing two clear upgrades to Blankenship, but if the market is that depressed, I could see them add a second cheap safety who could potentially compete with Blankenship. I still think the plan is for Brown to be the third safety.

Since 2010 the Philadelphia Eagles have spent eighteen day 1 or 2 picks on lineman. I am a fervent advocate of this draft philosophy and I believe it is overwhelmingly the primary reason we’ve had successes with the revolving door at QB, at WR, at RB, at DB, at LB.

Meanwhile, in that same span, the New York Giants have spent twenty-one day 1-2 picks on lineman, have had a broken lawn chair of an Oline for most of the decade, and really only Dexter Lawrence to show for their investments in the DLine. They’ve also only made the playoffs… twice(?) since their SB year in 2011? 2015 and 2022

Id be all for Curl, AND Mills. Im gonna bang the table for Mills again considering how badly beat up our secondary was last year. His versatility of S/CB/NCB is a huge plus.

Give me Curl, Kenny Moore, and a RG. As the bigger signings.

Give me a rotational DT and a solid LB as the mid-tier or cheaper signings.

Mills is like a training camp time signing in later phases of free agency.

Address WR, and RB in the draft. Pretty much sets you up for BPA with the rest.

We need linebackers and safeties.. need to go get Queen, luvu or that dude from Tennessee. 2 of them are needed for sure..

Then grab a few low priced safeties, draft DBs as well

He was fine, but nowhere near matched the buzz when we signed him, Murray and already had Sproles.  Missed three games both seasons and averaged 42 and 51 yards per game on the ground his two years here.

He was Alexander Mattison level of meh IMO, but helped made up for the suck that Murray was.  Basically he was the average girl at the bar who brought her ugly friend with her.
