He does seem to rely more on his lower body to make the throw.

thats where the power comes from. And he was only 1mph slower than Milton. Pretty insanely good.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Posted Images

I think Barkley, Jacobs, and Henry are still priced out above where the Eagles are prepared to spend at RB.  Spotrac has their market value around $10M, which I doubt any of them will reach, but even $7-8M will be too rich.  I think the Eagles will check in with DeAndre Swift and, if they can get him signed for $5M or so AAV, they'll bring him back to be the feature RB with Gainwell and a cheap FA/late draft pick to backup.  If he's not back, I see the Eagles shopping more in the Antonio Gibson/Gus Edwards/Devin Singletary section.

As for safety, I hope the Eagles reach out to both Xavier McKinney and Justin Simmons and offer a number; tell each of them to check back in if they're able to get a better offer before signing a deal.  I hope they're able to sign one of them in free agency.  There are many other "names" at safety in free agency but most of them were set free for a reason.

Swift for a 3/15 would be a steal.

The answer to RB is right in front of them with Swift. I thought the offense should have ran through him last season, and I get they were trying to conserve/protect him from injury. In the games where the offense looked its best last year like MIN, TB, BUF, etc, he was featured and either iced games or brought them back into it. And they really didn't utilize his receiving ability either. They need to set aside their ego with Hurts and his $250 million and realize that the offense can't always run through him. They don't need to overpay on a guy like Saquon, Jacobs, or Henry. There is an argument that Saquon would be better in this offense than Swift. But I'd be fine with a Swift/Gus Edwards/Gainwell backfield this year if you can get Edwards on a one year deal at around $3 million. He's a capable starter if Swift gets hurt and misses time.

CJGJ? Hmmm, Melton YES.

They need to add talent in the back 7 in both through FA and the draft.  Some speed and playmaking ability would be nice.  I think Brown is going to be a player but with his late season injury Idk that you can rely on him especially early on the season.

Yes, that's good but the concern would be that he's not going to be able to torque his body to get out throws if he's facing pressure in the pocket. To me, his main issue is that he doesn't put enough air under the ball and tries to throw through defenders.  He needs to work on getting more touch on his throws.

CJ Henderson hasn't been very good in JAX and CAR, but he's a former top 10 pick who's still only 25.  I'd be tempted to take a look at him, depending on price.

Yep.  Boring.  Hockey trade deadline and that's it.  When's legal tampering start?

It would be more fun if nobody knew, including GM's

That's kind of what he was in Indy --- a rising star. BTW, his busiest year was 2021 (he played more snaps, allowed a completion percentage of 63.1 and a passer rating of 78.1. In 2022 he played fewer snaps but wasn't targeted as much per snap. It's not like we signed a proven stud last year, but we did add an experienced, young, improving player to compete for a roster spot at no investment risk. He also adds good return skills which may be useful if Boston Scott isn't brought back and the new kickoff rule goes into effect.

OK he had 525 snaps to 430 so I accept your premise that 2021 was his busiest year as a corner, but then surely you accept that if that's the case then what he did in 2022 was objectively the opposite of improving.

An attorney I work with just got certified as an NFL Agent.  He went to the combine last week.  He said it seemed a lot of deals had been done at the Super Bowl.

So with the Zack Martin deal, the Cowboys are under the cap by just under $2 million. They still need to deal with Dak and Lamb, and make decisions on Lawrence, Cooks and Gallup. It's so funny how none of the talking heads understand the cap at all -- right now, they can't do a thing in FA. My guess is they will convert Dak's $29mm salary into a signing bonus to free up about $18mm, but that still leaves them handicapped. Jane Slater is reporting there have been no talks.

Meanwhile, they need a LT and a starting RB, and they have basically no money. I'm not sure what the hell they are doing.

What special teams only LB did we get?

Wouldn't Tyler Smith be their LT?

Hope so. They'd be downgrading at 2 spots.

He was 2nd team all-pro at LG, so I thought they'd keep him there. But if they do move him, they need a starting LG. And a starting RB. And linebackers.

They really need to extend Lamb and Prescott or they are screwed.

2023 was a big year for them with how much turnover they're going to have. And they'll need to pay Parsons too, who will be the highest paid defensive player in the NFL. Gallup is going to be cut, that's a virtual lock. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to the Chiefs when he does. Tyron Smith is going to go. There will be a lot of turnover there.

I think my neighbor is having an affair with the FedEx driver. You didn’t hear that from me, though.
